We as a family are extremely happy with the care, warmth, dedication and hard work of all staff they are lovely. The cleanliness and food are brilliant. The residents are given interaction with several activities and we feel it's like home from home.
Thank you Teresa for your lovely review, I will share it with the team at our next meeting.
The food is always very good and the servings are very generous.
Medication is given at set times and it is adhered to by all nursing staff.
There are many activities for my mother-in-law to join in with if she wishes to.
Thanks for your lovely review of St Margarets and the team. I will pass your comments on to all staff.
We have been using St Margaret's since January 2024 for my ban for two weeks at a time for respite care every 8-12 weeks. It's been a great feeling to find a facility that has a specific area and understanding for people living with dementia. I care for Nan full-time, and this respite time helps give me a break so I can recharge. Nan is obviously cared for well, and I have complete confidence in the staff that cares for Nan. Seeing regular staff faces really helps me to leave and Nan to settle in quickly. I'm very grateful to the team for all they do for Nan and me.
Thank you, Gina, for your positive review; I will pass your comments on to the team.
My 91-year-old uncle is currently in St.Margaret's and has been now for three months. The care and compassion is excellent. I would highly recommend St.Margaret's, I have in my job visited nursing homes, and this one is definitely 100%. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are reassuring and friendly. The manager and nurses are very supportive. It is without a doubt highly recommended. The activity side is brilliant, with cheerful coordinators helping, always something to keep residents interested, should they like to join in.
Thankyou for your very positive review. I will share your comments with the very dedicated team of care staff, domestics, kitchen staff, activities team and nurses who all work together as a team to provide excellent person-centred care to all of our clients.
Overall very satisfied. Would have liked more information regarding my husband's health as he died of lung cancer and I wasn't told as he was a stroke victim and couldn't talk.
Thank you for the great review of the home and team.
My husband went into St Margarets Care Home in May 2023, he had dementia during a short stay in hospital other complications were found. He was on the dementia unit, I cannot fault the care he received while there the carers were brilliant the care he received was wonderful and he always seemed content. He didn't have much speech but he used to have sad moods when he used to cry and they always comforted and reassured him nothing was too much trouble for the carers. All the staff were always there to help and nothing was too much trouble, it was always clean and a lovely atmosphere. Sadly my husband passed away in February 2024 and the kindness they all showed me was wonderful I couldn't have wished for him to be anywhere else.
Thank you for your excellent review, I will ensure that this is communicated with the team. You were always by his side, never missing a day and we miss seeing you in the home.
My mum stayed at St Margaret's to receive respite care after a short spell in hospital. We found the staff to be very friendly and caring, tending to my mum's needs with great efficiency and understanding. They were also very encouraging and ready to offer advice if needed. While there, my mum had to attend some appointments at the hospital, and the staff ensured that transport was arranged and that my mum was ready for the excursions in good time. There was also the possibility to have her hair cut and styled every two weeks, something which I know she appreciated. My sisters and I often visited my mum together, and the staff were always welcoming and ensured extra seating if necessary.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased to receive your feedback and to know that you and your mum were happy with the care received at St Margarets. I will pass these comments on to the team.
We have been able to relax and be reassured that Mum has been safe and comfortable and has her needs met physically, mentally and emotionally. All members of staff have been approachable, professional, compassionate, helpful advisors and extremely caring for Mum and her visitors. We have had superb cooperation and advice for a specific event where Mum has been supported with arrangements to leave the home for part of the day and was welcomed back in with a cuppa and lots of smiles as well as staff being ready to help Mum with her specific needs at an ‘irregular’ time, checking every step of her care and personally taking time and interest.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave us a review.
The decision to put my husband in a nursing home wasn’t an easy one but had to be made. From the initial contact with the manager at St Margaret’s I felt reassured his needs would be met. My husband was given nothing but excellent care and respect throughout his stay. All staff at the home were superb and nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are reading this review with the hope to be reassured your loved one will be in the best hands then let me assure you I would choose this home in a heartbeat if I had to make the decision again. First class service 24/7.
Thank you Glenys for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to do this and for your kind words.
From making the first telephone call, we found the staff at St Margaret’s kind, caring and understanding. We were able to view the facilities at a time that suited us and staff were available to answer any questions we had. We were offered a choice of rooms and they were all clean and fresh. Once our mum had moved in, she was treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity. We were able to visit at any time and could always speak to staff when we needed to. We found all the staff very approachable and everyone seemed happy and friendly. The food always looked and smelt great, the rooms were kept clean and nothing was too much trouble. The whole process, from beginning to end, was made simple and hassle-free. We would have no hesitation in recommending St Margaret’s. Big thank you to everyone who helped to care for our mum.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave us a review, it is appreciated. We will pass on your feedback to our team.
My father went into St Margaret's Care Home unfortunately for end of life care. It was a distressing time for him and all the family and was only made bearable by the kind and professional care given by all the staff and management at the home. From the moment he arrived he was made to feel welcome and I know how much he thought of everyone who looked after him. He ate well, his personal care was always observed and was treated with total dignity and respect by all. Visiting family were all made to feel the same way. My dad came to regard many of the staff as friends and so did I. Nothing but love and respect for the whole team. Ten out of ten.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate your kind words and will pass them on to the staff.
My grandad is well looked after and feels safe and comfortable here.
The setting and grounds are really pleasant, and it's nice and quiet.
They even brought ice lollies out with it being so warm.
Thank you, Jon, for your kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review, and we'll pass on your comments to our staff.
My dad went into the home on end-of-life in February 2020. My mother has advanced dementia, so went into the dementia unit. We couldn't have given enough praise to the staff on the end-of-life unit - they were excellent. Sadly Dad passed on the 7th of March, but Mam is still there. The manager always makes time to listen to any worries or questions/queries, as does the assistant manager. The carers are great and listen, also understanding dementia helps a lot of people. Look at Mam, and because you can't see dementia, thinks she's fine. St Margaret's puts residents' care/needs above everything else.
Thank you for your review and kind words, Diane; we will pass on your feedback to our team.
My son first went to St Margaret's for respite care but was admitted for full-time care a number of years ago. In all the time he has been at St Margaret's, the staff have been caring, compassionate, friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble, and I am always kept informed of his care needs. I can take comfort in the fact that he is well looked after in a safe and friendly environment.
Thank you, Derek, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and for your kind words; we will pass on your feedback to our team.
I was so upset when the time came that I could not manage Dad in his own home. I have to thank all the staff who settled Dad very quickly during difficult times with Covid. My dad is 89 with dementia. He is safer here than at home and gets better care here when he has seizures than he ever did in the hospital. The carers have patience, they treat him with respect and dignity, and I do not know where we would be without all their help. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home all-round.
Thank you, Petrina, for your kind feedback; we appreciate it and will make sure our team get to hear it.
The staff have adhered to all the rules over Covid for the health and safety of all staff and residents. Knowing this has given me the peace of mind that she is in the best hands. All heroes don’t all wear capes, but some wear masks and PPE.
Hi Tracy, thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review, it really means a lot to us. We'll ensure your kind words are passed on to our staff. Thank you.
6 days after dad was diagnosed with cancer, he moved to St Margaret's for end of life care. The care from all staff was excellent, the home was run like a mini-hospital, very organised. At 3.30 am one day, tearful and wanting to be close to dad, a lovely nurse let me in, gave me a blanket and walked me to his room, she said to ring the bell if I needed anything. The family was so impressed by the high standard of care, we moved mum to St. Margaret's from another care home dementia unit, a week before dad died. Mums personal hygiene improved immediately, no more greasy hair and chipped nails. During one visit, mum was out of sorts, a carer helped me get her in the wheelchair so I could take her back to her room, she was too weak to walk. Mum was very agitated, the carer hugged mum, calmed her down and when settled in her room, a nurse took her temp (39.6). Mum was put in 14 days isolation due to coronavirus, so family was asked to leave, again in a professional, caring manner.
Thank you for the lovely review and kind words for our staff. As you know, we’re being extra vigilant and careful with regard to Coronavirus and that is why your mum was initially isolated until we discovered the cause of her high temperature. As you’re aware, your mum has received treatment and is...
My mother-in-law came to St. Margaret's in December 2017 after a stay in hospital, until she passed away on 3rd March this year. We want to say a heartfelt thank you for all the care mum received during her stay. As we don't live locally, to know that mum received the best possible care and respect at all times has been a comfort to us. We always found all the staff to be caring, polite and supportive, both with mum and ourselves. Our experience of visiting St.Margaret's has been a positive one, and we would have no hesitation in recommending it. Thank you all.
Thank you for your kind words Julia, we'll pass them on to our team.
All staff at St Margaret's were very friendly and attentive at all times. My father was well cared for in the tme he spent there. highly recommond this home.
Thank you for your lovely review, we'll pass your kind words on to our staff.
The staff at St Margaret's looked after my mother for about a year and a half following discharge from hospital on an end of life package. She was firstly nursed back to some kind of health and thereafter looked after with care, dignity and love. No praise can be too high for the staff. Visiting was always easy and we always received a friendly welcome.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we very much appreciate your feedback and we'll pass your comments on to our staff.
