Review from John W (Husband of Resident) published on 18 July 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My wife was a resident at St Margaret's during a spell of treatment which included three operations on her leg. It was after the second operation and a period in physio while she was waiting to return to hospital for a final operation that she spent at St Margaret's. The management and all staff were efficient, friendly and more importantly, open about everything they did.

Carers talked to folk like they were family, giving banter back and forth and no-nonsense. There were loads of things to keep the residents interested, filling their days with things to do. They had craft classes, dominoes, games afternoons and much more. My wife spent time in 3 care homes during her treatment and St Margaret's was head and shoulders above the rest.

My mother went to St Margaret's for care after hospital discharge.
The care my mother received was exceptional from all the staff. She was treated with respect kindness and dignity
St Margaret's makes everyone feel it's a home from home environment especially for families visiting there loved ones.

I sincerely recommend St Margaret's, everyone who works there is truly amazing and cannot do enough for you.

Overall Experience

My mother has been in the care of St Margaret’s Nursing Home for just over five weeks now and in that time the improvement in her health and well being has been remarkable. She is more alert (and looks it), she has a good deal more conversation, she is eating more (and looking forward to her food) and she is walking (with assistance) which she hasn’t really done for some long time now. We realise that these are still early days but all members of the family ( 11 of us have visited at different times so far and some of us on several occasions) are very pleasantly surprised and cheered by this improvement in my mother’s condition which we attribute to the care and attention which she is now receiving at St Margaret’s. Every member of St Margaret’s team has been approachable and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The home is bright and busy and welcoming.

Overall Experience

My mum was in St Margaret's Care Home for only a short period of time while waiting to be moved to a rehabilitation unit. In that time I felt my mum was not treated with the respect she deserved by some members of staff, particularly by a senior staff member. There was little or no communication between staff and family members, and we were made to feel that approaching senior staff with questions to help my mum settle in were dealt with in a very defensive manner, that was not helpful or welcoming. My mum was discharged and sent to the rehab centre without any communication to the family who was not aware that this was happening. As my mum is very deaf she needs extra support with communicating and that did not happen.
