It’s been a really difficult couple of years with Mum going into care but the staff at Granby Rose are so kind and caring that it gives us peace of mind that Mum is under the best care. It’s very clear that all staff have genuine care and emotion towards my Mum which is very important because she is
still herself and still needs to feel loved every day. One carer, in particular, has really helped me during these difficult times. I’ll never forget the day Mum moved in and how this carer made no hesitation to comfort me when I was upset. During Covid and not being able to properly interact with Mum, she has really made the visits worthwhile by doing all she can to get Mum to engage and ensure she feels happy and relaxed. She has shown real emotion and care for Mum and that just means the world. In my opinion, she’s just a wonderful human with a big heart and so much love to give. I don’t know what I’d have done without her these past few months during these difficult times.

My husband stayed at Granby Rose from June 2019 until his death in April 2020. During this time his Alzheimer's deteriorated. He had to be fed, washed and clothed which every carer who looked after him did with care, love and dignity. There was a relaxed but professional experience towards all the residents
and their loved ones.

I cannot thank the staff at Granby Rose enough for the amazing care they have taken of my step-father, particularly through the lockdown. He is more active and aware now than he has been for 9 months and I am sure that this is due to their exemplary care and love. They are all truly special people and

Granby Rose staff were welcoming and friendly as soon as my dad began living there. My dad receives lovely, compassionate care and my family and I are always greeted warmly when we visit. The staff are always supportive of my mum, who normally visits every few days. I live in the USA so my visits
are infrequent but I can call any time to see how my dad is doing.
During the last few months, the staff have continued to provide wonderful care and communicate often how my dad is doing. Thank you, Granby Rose.

Granby Rose is a lovely small home that looks after my mother, with 100% care and dedication. It's like one big family and not only have they cared for my mother but have been there for me when times have been hard. There is always a smile from every member of staff, and will always have time for me
as a daughter of a resident. Words can not say how grateful I am to all the staff.

I did not know what to expect when my husband went into Granby Rose. He was reluctant to go, and I thought he would be difficult. However, the staff cared for him extremely well; showed great kindness and he soon settled and made friend with other patients. My family and I can visit at any time and
feel a warm welcome there.

Granby Rose care home has a very caring attitude towards its residents. It is comfortable and homely with nicely furnished communal areas and rooms for residents and visitors to use. The staff are all very caring, polite and patient and being a small home, they know all the residents very well. It is
in a very quiet but accessible area of Harrogate.

Although my father in law was only at Granby Rose for a short time, the quality of his individualised care shone out. The kindness of all the staff who were so friendly and warm was very impressive. From the day of arrival they successfully helped my father in law to settle quickly, familiarising themselves
with all the details that mattered most to him. In addition, they sourced chiropody input, dietary advice and therapy dog input, all within the first few days.

I always know my mum will be clean, up and dressed and comfortable when I visit. The staff here know my mum very well and they take the time to know her likes and dislikes.
They genuinely care about her. They never rush her and she enjoys her food and although my mum is quite immobile she is always
included in entertainment and activities even if she just watches. I love this home. Thank you.

My stepfather moved into the Granby Rose Care Home in December 2017. I have found all the staff to be friendly and welcoming. They all take pride in the unit and their patients. My stepfather is eating well and is very settled which has taken a weight from my mum's shoulders. Every visit I have found
the unit to be very clean and tidy.

A lovely modern home with several small seating areas which promotes a home from home feel. Since new management has taken over there is a huge improvement. My relative is offered stylised care now and is enjoying her life again. All concerns are dealt with promptly and I am very happy with my mother's
care.

I should like to say how helpful and considerate the care home manager and assistant manager were in handling the transfer of my mother to Granby Rose within a couple of days. My mother from being very anxious and tearful has changed to her old happy self although sometimes appearing very doped. I should
like to be able to discuss her medication with mental health although this seems difficult to arrange. The staff- nurses, carers and housekeepers have made her very welcome and cared for. She has however only been at Granby Rose for a fortnight so it is early days but so far very good.

This is a high quality care home. My 'friend' has been here for almost four years and not once (on my frequent visits) have I ever heard an unkind or impatient word from the carers. Having looked after my friend for seven years, I know how hard a job caring for dementia patients is. The general ambience
is of a high standard - food, decor and entertainment is given great attention.

Victoria Longmuir

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2020

Victoria has enjoyed her career in older adult care for
over 12 years, since first working as a care assistant at
18 years old. Since then, she has obtained a
Batchelor of Arts with Honours in Sociology and a
Batchelor's in Science with Honours in Mental Heath
Nursing. In 2021 Victoria began working at a sister care
home as a Clinical Deputy Manager before becoming
Home Manager at Granby Rose.

Outside of work, Victoria loves walking in the
countryside and being in and amongst all things nature.


She says her biggest achievement outside of work
is her family, who she adores spending time with.
