On arrival at Fulford I could feel the TLC coming out of the walls. The whole atmosphere is amazing. The staff think of everything to help their patients. With their help I have recovered sufficiently after hospital to be on the brink of coming home.

The food is oustanding so well balanced and nutritious. Thank you so very much.

My wife was admitted at short notice. At the time of admission, she was very confused; however, within 2 hours she had settled.

All staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful, making it easy to settle in.

My mum spent five weeks here on a rehab placement from Hospital after breaking her pelvis. She was always treated with the utmost dignity and respect. The staff were wonderful and she received very personal care from every single person, as did we as visitors. We were always made welcome which was particularly important over Christmas. The home is well managed, the food looked good and the residents always seemed to be encouraged to participate in interesting activities. Thank you to everyone on behalf of mum and myself.

As a respite resident, I would like to say all the staff here were exceptional. They have been very kind and caring at an awkward time for me as an independent person.
I have learnt so much being here.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Following an overnight stay in A & E, I spent 9 nights here from Sunday 8 June 2025, sleeping in a bed reserved by the NHS for rehab patients. I was treated well and with great kindness before being taken back to my own home. My thanks to all members of staff in every capacity.

Staff - caring and attentive, and friendly.
Atmosphere - welcoming.

Overall, my husband was very happy in the manner in which he was treated - he certainly enjoyed the food!. Only once criticism - he found the TV too loud!

My husband returned to the home on 26th June but sadly passed away on 29th June. With regard to this visit I can only repeat how wonderfully he was cared for. In those last few days the regard of the staff for him was outstanding - gentle, loving care, dignity, kindness were apparent all the time. As a family the staff cared for us also lovingly, which was lovely in a very difficult time.

Very pleasant staff and always helpful. They only looked after my mum for a short period, but her short stay was very welcoming. Visiting hours are not restricted except for meal times, which is understandable. Big thank you to all the staff.

Mum came to Fulford nursing home for rehabilitation after a fall. She was there from 27.11.24 to 13.12.24. She was very happy with her stay. The food was excellent and the staff very good. She had to share a room which wouldn't have been her preference but thankfully got on well with her roommate. The only problem was the toilet. It was in the tiniest cupboard and they could barely close the door which offered very little privacy. Other than that her stay was needed by both of us and the care she got was great. Thank you.

Thank you for your review. I am pleased your mum enjoyed her stay and has returned home after some support. I must admit our home is a homely converted home and not every room has the spacious en-suites as a new build has. I will take that on board as feedback and something to work towards. I do...

Since I left Fulford Nursing Home I have settled back home, and with the help of carers, my family and friends from Church, it is so nice to be home. I can't thank you all enough for the wonderful care and attention I received from your wonderful care from everyone, admin, nurses, staff and of course the chef.

I was a resident at Fulford Nursing Home from 06/01/2025 until 14/01/2025. I was pleasantly surprised to find a truly home from home after sometimes not so good reports care homes in news reports. I was only there for 8 days and I was very comfortable and content. I thought the food to be restaurant quality and all staff excellent and very kind.

My dad came in here to rehabilitation and came out worse, plus half his clothes were missing when he came out. I rang up about them but no one rang back, the place was OK but I certainly wouldn't pay to go in there.

Reply from Elizabeth Hancock, Proprietor at Fulford Nursing Home

I am very sorry to hear your dad's experience staying with us fell short of our standards. I will ask our laundry staff if they have any clothing belonging to your dad and make arrangements to return it. Thank you for your review which I will share with all staff and we will look to improve. If you wish to speak with me personally please do call me.

A very good experience. I felt well cared for and looked after. I really enjoyed the food and the company.
I wasn't too keen on sharing a room and felt the bedroom was too small for two people.

My short stay helped prepare me for a return to my own home.
