Waverley Lodge Care Home is located in Newcastle's Lemington suburb and is close to amenities, shops, public transport and the A1(M). The Metro Centre is just two miles away.

This purpose built care home provides accommodation in single occupancy rooms, most of which have en-suite facilities. Some are spacious enough for sharing.

Waverley Lodge features TV lounges and a quiet sitting room where residents can relax. Separate dining rooms, where residents socialise at meal times, are also available. Traditional home cooking using fresh produce is served and daily choices are available. Special diets can be catered for.

Residents may benefit from the regular visits made to the home by an experienced hair stylist and qualified chiropodist. Complementary therapies can be arranged.

All the staff are exceptionally friendly and very efficient. My husband had the very best of care up until his death in June. The food at Waverley was always up to a very high standard and nothing was ever too much trouble.

My mother has been a resident since 2009, 9 years.
During that time the nursing and care staff became like a second family to her.
I am her only relative and live in France so it was a huge support to me knowing she was so well cared for by the staff who knew her so well.
As her dementia developed
the carers were able to accommodate her moods and changing needs, because they knew her so well.
They always kept me informed and when the end of her life came, they treated her so gently and with such great care.

My dad was there for two weeks until he passed away. During that time he was treated with care and dignity by all the staff. I am very happy with the respect and care that my dad received when personal care had to be given. At meal times my dad was also given a great choice of meals that he could have

From the very first day when we were welcomed to the care home, we have felt at home. The staff are absolutely fantastic. They treat our mother with complete dignity and respect and also great friendliness. She actually feels valued being there and she also feels she is safe as she has had many falls
lately, that's why she had to move from her own home. The staff assist her and give her confidence. The dining room is like 5-star dining. We have peace of mind knowing she is well cared for.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. My father had an emergency admission to Waverley Lodge and the staff were very attentive to his care needs. They provided reassurance that his needs would be met and he was treated with dignity and respect. All members of the team from carers and chef to handyman
have been very helpful in supporting my father in settling in his new environment.

From the moment my mother-in-law was admitted, I knew I had picked her a good care home. I was very impressed by the attention given to her by all the staff and carers. She has now told me all the staff are lovely. I am very pleased I picked this care home for her.

My mother was admitted into the home February 2017. Since then she has put on weight and has started to walk again. The staff are very good with her in all aspects of her care and well-being. The home is clean and welcoming.

My mother has been a resident for nearly two years and in that time has been well looked after by caring staff. The home is always clean and plenty of food and drink having an excellent chef. The home is let down by the need of modernisation to some bedrooms and toilets and decorating needs to be done
in the near future and garden grounds outside of entrance so hopefully, the new owners will see to this in the near future.

We would like to thank the family member for the feedback. After purchasing Waverley Lodge in May 2017, we have started a program of improvements that includes redecorating bedrooms, lounges, and communal areas. We are undertaking building works in both dining rooms and will redecorate these once the work is finished. In addition, as part of our service to new residents, we personalise the décor in their bedrooms prior to them coming to live at Waverley Lodge.

I have been a voluntary carer to my friend for many years, helping her by doing shopping, take her to doctor appointments, hospital appointments, also hearing tests. She is a wonderful person to be with and it has come as a shock to see how quickly she has deteriorated. Thankfully she is now being cared
for by wonderful staff here in this care home.

Although I am generally happy about the level of care that she receives at Waverley Lodge and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I am most certainly firmly against their plans to move my mother upstairs where the more severe dementia cases are as I feel it would be very detrimental to my mother's
own health and that she would deteriorate much more rapidly.

Sue uses her experience to motivate the team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
