Willowdene Care Home

Willowdene provided a safe and loving home for our mam, Maureen, throughout her years with Alzheimer's. The journey was never easy for us as a family, but we felt incredibly supported by every member of staff.

The staff became an extended family to mam when we couldn't always be there. Although she was non-verbal, they always treated her with kindness, patience, dignity and respect.

We would particularly like to recognise the nursing staff, who were always attentive, on the ball and proactive in solving problems. The carers were equally wonderful, providing mam with such loving day-to-day care. Every single member of staff, in every role, made a difference, and we cannot thank them enough.

Mam recently passed away peacefully, and we truly believe their constant care helped give us extra precious time with her.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for everything you did for our mam. We will always be grateful x

My father came into this home for a period of short stay, everything we asked for he received, every staff member, from the amazing care team to the manager himself, we felt went above and beyond to ensure he was made to feel at home. We couldn't ask for better and will certainly look at future return.

The facilities' hospitality, staff, careworkers, nurses and support staff are very professional and show great care in their daily duties towards my mother-in-law. A permanent resident at the Willowden Hebburn on a daily basis, it is evident that all involved have great patience, show passion and pride in their work. Well done to all involved, and a big thank you.

On a personal note needs a different level of care and support than other residents due to the severity of her (my mother) needs. The staff and carers on a daily basis reassure me that my mam is on good, capable hands knowing that she is being well looked after.

Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive to our entire family. We were so scared and every single person has been incredible at helping us keep any ease. My Aunt is getting involved and really enjoying being around others.

Staff are approachable and listen to any questions we have. They all have great personalities which makes visiting welcoming and enjoyable.

Despite being busy, the team were always on hand to offer support or assistance. We will return for any future respite needs.

Not aesthetically pleasing. Little stimulation for residents.

The staff are always so friendly and caring towards not just the residents but also the families and friends. We have had my grandma in 1 other home before moving here, since she moved she has become her chatty self again, she's eating and drinking properly (when required the staff are always happy to assist her), she is engaging in the activities. My grandma is so well cared for now she calls it her forever home and this makes us so happy as a family. I would highly recommend putting family members here.

Willowdene is a family environment, staff are extremely friendly, caring and genuine in their approach to residents and their families. The atmosphere in the home is always warm and happy. My mother is being well cared for by all the staff regardless of their role in the home. They take time to engage with Mam, often sit and speak with her so she does not feel isolated, at 96 years young that is important to us as a family.

Staff make a care home

Since moving my mother into Willowdene I have found the staff including the domestic staff to be very cheerful, friendly and very helpful with any queries or concerns that I may have. The staff make sure all the residents not just my mother are catered for and treated with respect, even when a resident is sometimes being difficult. They provide lots of activities so residents may join in if they wish to, which I feel is essential to keep them active and their morale up so they don't feel they have been forgotten. I have no reservations that my mother is being treated and cared for in the best possible way by all staff.

For people who request to stay in their room, due to mobility issues, carers could leave the TV or radio on and also drink and snack out if the patient's relatives have left snacks and drinks in the room on a morning.

Willowdene is a caring place, the staff do their utmost to be welcoming and are respectful to residents in their day-to-day care.
