Over all time Delamere Lodge Care Home has 35 reviews.
Hygiene standards extremely poor across the home. We came across spoiled dining room chairs which then a place mat was put on top to cover this.
The food is excellent.
Staff at Delamere Lodge are so patient, so kind, so helpful, no matter difficulties being exhibited by some of residents with extreme problems - everything is calmed with love and affection from kind caring Delamere Lodge Staff.
Best Care Home in England, in the kind, patient, gracious manner in which all the residents - the family of Delamere Lodge appear to be cared for and many appear very happy and grateful, for such kind care and attention from brilliant Staff.
Thank you so much Delamere Lodge Staff - I know my dear Brother can behave quite contrarily at times, you are ALL so kind and so patient, in resolving any and all problems. Thank you.
Dear Ruth,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and kind review. It truly means a great deal to our whole team to hear that your brother feels happy, safe and well cared for at Delamere Lodge.
Our staff work very hard to create a warm, supportive and respectful...
The home was reorganised at the beginning of January 2026 and all the Nursing residents were put on the 1st floor.
We were worried that mum would not settle after the move, we didn't need to worry. The care on the 1st floor was fantastic. Very attentive and genuinely caring. Especially the care from Vicky and Helen, who made mum's last few weeks happy and peaceful. The rooms and communal areas are spotless, Dawn takes pride in her work and always has time to talk to residents while she cleans.
We are so pleased mum spent her last 3 weeks in a caring loving environment. Thank you ladies for genuinely caring for the residents and making the residents time as pleasant as possible.
We would like to thank you for your review, our reviews help us to continue to make improvements. It was lovely speaking to you in relation to this review and seeing how you had seen the recent changes. We are also very pleased that you felt the care and support provided to your mum and yourselves was attentive. We will ensure that these this lovely feedback is shared with the staff teams
I have regularly seen the staff go over and above in terms of showing genuine loving care for my Mam and the atmosphere of the building is always uplifting.
The quality of the meals and regularity of the snacks are really good and the place always smells clean which is a credit to the work of the cleaner's who also have been wonderful with my Mam.
Moreover, the staff also listen to any family observations and concerns and look to work collaboratively in the updating of Care Plans.
Dementia Homes aren't the easiest of environments to work in so credit due to all involved at Delamere!
We're truly pleased to hear that your Mam has been well supported over the past 3.5 years, and that she has remained physically stable and, in many ways, has continued to...
For Mum's 100th birthday all the staff got behind a huge party for her supported by the new manager: staff dancing with Mum, tee shirts printed celebrating her birthday, cake, cards, presents, banners, balloons, cards from the local primary school, and because the home fell into an enforced lock-down just two days before our family birthday visit, we were sent joyous photos to help us join in the celebration - so thoughtful of everyone concerned! All our family can't thank you enough!
At a previous care home not far from here Mum was apprehensive in the presence of carers, but at Delamere she beams when they pop into her room on our visits, always appreciating the genuine affection which carers show towards her... confirming our view that she really feels at home here! Brilliant!
Thank you so much for your beautiful words and for taking the time to share this heart-warming review. It truly means the world to all of us at Delamere Lodge. It has been an honour and a joy to celebrate your mum's incredible 100th birthday with her. The team were delighted to make her day as...
All the staff should be proud of the way they undertake their important role. It really felt like it was a home from home for the residents.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such kind and thoughtful words about your experience with us. We are truly humbled to have been able to care for your father during the last weeks of his life.It was an honour and a privilege for our team to support both your dad and your family at...
The manager doesn't take time to speak to friends or family, where she was to busy to speak to me. The carers are brilliant where they speak to family, residents and friends, going out of the way for them. I see my friend has favourite staff who they like to speak with.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're so pleased to hear your kind words about our care team - they work hard to create a warm and supportive environment, and it's lovely to know their efforts are recognised.I'm sorry to hear that you felt I was unavailable to speak with you....
Dad has made great progress to the point we have been able to bring him home. Staff have been very accommodating of our needs and done everything they could to make his stay as safe and comfortable as possible. They have been there to support the whole family when things have been tough which has been much appreciated.
Dad certainly got his appetite back in here, the meals have been fantastic. There's always a good selection and plenty of snacks for the residents. He certainly won't be getting a cooked breakfast every day at home!
Thank you to the staff, your support means the world to the families of the patients in your care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your dad made such great progress during his stay with us, and to see he was well enough to return home - that's truly wonderful news.It means a great deal to our team to know that their efforts to meet and truly understand...
The home often organises different events for the residents and family members can always join in. They did a beautiful afternoon tea for Mother's Day which my mum and family really enjoyed. The food at Delamere Lodge is outstanding, it's all fresh and home made. My mum particularly enjoys the homemade cakes and desserts.
The home is always kept really clean and tidy which is thanks to the cleaning staff who work really hard.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review. We truly appreciate you highlighting the aspects of our nursing home that have made a positive impact. We will continue to strive to provide the best possible care, and your feedback is invaluable to us.
Since there has been a change in management the standards in place for my Dad's care, simply put, are outstanding. She's made positive changes to the staffing, the daily routine and the overall care he receives. As a family we are informed about his health and care. All the staff take time to talk to my Dad to make sure he's okay, not lonely, they help him to the garden and talk to him about sports. The home have helped us bring his PC into his room and wall mount his sky glass tv so he has all the comfort he would at home. At a time when he needs extra support it's comforting to know he's in the best possible place.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it's been a pleasure getting to know your father and your family. Your kind words mean a lot to us here at Delamere and truly reflect the hard work and dedication of our team. We also appreciate the support your father receives from you and other family members. We are pleased to hear that your experience is positive.
I have no problems with the care or facilities. I think the nurses and staff are angels with all the care they do for my brother.
Thank you for your review and your kind words, it is a real pleasure to see that you are happy with the care and support provided. We will ensure that the team are made aware of these lovely comments.
As always care is very good. Big improvement in cleanliness. Improvement in Activities. The visit of the school children has been great, my husband is choosing to be involved for the first time since he became an resident. The new manager is gradually making improvements and the home looks more welcoming.
Thank you for your kind review. The home takes on board family feedback at looking for improvements.
My husband was placed in permanent care in December 2024 due to his deteriorating condition (Vascular Dementia). There were were some minor hiccups as you would expect but, these were promptly rectified. It was probably down to the change over of temporary staff during the Festive season. Nevertheless, they were all very professional, friendly and understanding to my husband's needs.
I do believe it was just a case of my husband getting used to his new home and the different faces plus, the team getting used to him and his needs. He seems to be settling in OK now. We are happy he is in a safe environment and seems to be well cared for which we are all very grateful. Thank you. Special thank you to the nurses and carers for their friendliness, professionalism and care towards my husband.
The team are always happy to see me and other family members too and greet us with a smile and an update on how my husband's day has been. They treat us like family. Thank you to you all!
Many thanks for your kind review. We always look to how to settle new residents into the home, getting to know their likes and dislikes, as well as getting families involved who know them the most. We appreciate all of our staff and how they personalise person centred care within the home.
I would like to thank all the staff at Delamere Lodge for the care you provide to my dad. He is well looked after, yes initially rooms last year could be cleaner however you have all continued to work hard and provide good care and he does now have a clean environment - bedroom and around the home. Many thanks, your hard work is appreciated and noticed .
Thank you for this lovely review, I really pleased that you can see the improvements in which the home is making, we will share these excellent comments with the team at the home.
Massive improvement to cleanliness. My mother was isolated due to a urine infection, came to visit and the room was a disgrace. Had a word with the manager and with a space of the previous 3 - 4 weeks of my review date, massive improvement. Her room is spotless and smells amazing. Thank you for listening to my concerns my mind is once again at ease.
Thank you for your kind and honest review, your mom is an amazing lady, who makes everyone smile. Seeing her eyes light up when you visit is lovely to see. She will be sadly missed by all of the staff. The staff send our condolences to you and all of your family.
I am happy with the care my grandad receives. He is always happy and content when I go to see him. Do I think the room could be cleaned a bit more . Also I think the room need updating and decorating .
Thank you for the review, your grandad is a lovely gentleman. We are decorating the home gradually, where we have completed 6 rooms recently. We do have rooms cleaned daily, if you find a concern on the day we can follow this up immediately. Families are welcome to put in personal touches to make the rooms more cosey.
Warm, clean and tidy reception area. Greeted by smart cheerful staff. Excellent facilities for all guests, allow for a peaceful secure environment. Meals are regular and full filling to say the least. The staff are always on hand to help and support all the guests 24/7. Each room is spotlessly clean and always well prepared to suit each individual guest. The bedding is always clean and fresh every day.
Thank you for your kind feedback, we always look for ways to improve and keep our residents, friends and professionals getting the best from the service.
The level of care and support from all staff at Delamare Lodge Care Home for my mum was 'best in class'. They were always interactive with my mum, engaging with her and their support to my late father was exceptional. Very supportive and understanding. With my mum's end of life support, they were incredible and caring for my mum in her final days. I cannot thank them enough.
Thank you for your review, it was an honour to look after your both of your parents.
They looked after her with respect, compassion and kindness. They laughed with her, held her hand when she was sad and protected her from harm.
The team also provided support, encouragement and friendship throughout a very difficult time for which I cannot thank them enough.
I could not recommend Delamere more highly.
My husband spent the last nineteen months of his life here. He was safe, contented and comfortable. As a family, we feel we could not have found him a better place. He suffered from a particularly nasty form of Alzheimer's called PCA. The staff here took excellent care of him, treating him with respect, compassion, understanding and love. We felt happy in the knowledge that he was being well looked after. On the last day, his family stayed with him. The staff were respectful and sustained us with drinks and food. When we needed them, they were there. After he has passed, they treated him with so much respect. I cannot praise Delamere Lodge highly enough.
