The Willows care home provides specialist nursing, residential and dementia care for older people on a respite or permanent basis. Designed for purpose, the home offers ensuite bedrooms that have been set up to ensure privacy and comfort.

The care team is experienced, dedicated and highly skilled. Most of the team has been with the home for many years so there’s always a smile and familiar face for residents and their relatives.

Situated within a quiet, residential area of Middlesbrough, next to the Woodside Memory Clinic and close to James Cook University Hospital, The Willows is easily accessible. The home enjoys a relaxed atmosphere, and outside, the attractive courtyards have plenty of sitting areas and a sensory garden.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Dad had been in his previous care home for just over a year when we moved him to The Willows. The contrast was like chalk and cheese. The manager was there to welcome us and his room was made to feel like home within the first 10 mins, with the 'handyman' present immediately to move furniture etc. The
happy faced staff popped into his room to introduce themselves and the energy of the home was incredible. Unfortunately Dad's residence at The Willows was very short, but in that 2 weeks he told us he felt safe, understood and greatly respected. He didn't really need to tell us this as we could feel the change in him. We didn't know it at the time, but the nursing care we thought he needed turned out to be end of life care. We can't thank the staff enough for the deep sensitivity and compassion they showed not only Dad, but us as a family during this time...ensuring he passed with the utmost dignity and affording us memories of this time to cherish. We are profoundly and forever grateful.

I would give The Willows 100 stars if it was allowed because the care and compassion they gave my Brother during his short stay in Palliative Care was 100 percent! From the Managers/Admin staff to the Nurses, Carers, Cleaners, Laundry and Maintenance staff the level of care was reassuring to my Brother
and myself that all that could be done for him was done with kindness, friendly smiles and dedication to their work. Thank you so much for keeping him safe and as comfortable as possible in his final days.

Since my mam moved into the willows I have seen a definite improvement in her wellbeing, she looks better and is always clean and warm, the food although I haven't tried it yet seems to agree with her. Yesterday the 20th of march she said to me that "this is my home now" which was wonderful to hear.
The staff from management down to the cleaners are always there with a smile and a bit of banter, just what she needed.

After a short spell in hospital, it was clear that Dad was no longer able to manage at home, on 7/5/24 he became a resident at The Willows. The care he receives is nothing short of excellent, he's encouraged to take part in activities when he can. The staff are sensitive and compassionate, what more
could you ask for. Whether you pass a cleaner, carer or a nurse in the corridor there is always a smile/hello. A very well-managed home with a great team doing great work, from the laundry to the nurses and carers and admin. Keep up the good work!

The staff at The Willows who I have met over the last 10 months, have all been brilliant. Not only do they make my dad feel comfortable, but also his family. It makes for a lovely atmosphere, and I enjoy chatting to all staff when I'm visiting my dad.
The carers/nurse/lifestyle team take good care
of my dad, and it seems to be more than a job to them; they genuinely care for our loved ones.
The laundry and housekeeping staff are all so lovely, and will always stop to chat to my dad and to me.
The office staff and maintenance are always willing to help and answer any questions you have.
You definitely feel like you're part of a big family. Thank you all.

I find the staff extremely helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble. In some cases I believe they have gone beyond their remit to help my mother. The staff have allayed any anxiety she may have had about going into care and made her time as comfortable as possible.

I cannot thank the manager, the nurse and the numerous carers enough for the assistance and care they gave to my aunt when she was end of life. They made the admission process as easy as possible in view of some of the difficulties we were faced with. The care given was excellent and the staff cared
about her even though they had only known her for a short time. My aunt died peacefully with us by her side, just as we wanted. What a wonderful place this is. Thank you.

My father-in-law sadly passed away on the 8th of September 2023 but had been a resident of The Willows for five years, and in all of those five years he not only received the best care but was shown love and compassion at all times while receiving his care, but in his last few weeks the staff at The
Willows extended that care to all of his loved ones while we were by his side, they went above and beyond to make sure we were all looked after too, and nothing was a problem, for this we will be forever grateful and thankful.

The kindness and compassion all of your staff have shown these past few days I've been visiting my uncle I will never forget. Just wanted to praise the staff at The Willows for the care and attention paid to our mam. Since becoming a resident in the last couple of months, the improvement in our mam’s general condition and outlook in life has improved significantly.
This in many ways has to be put down to the care shown by
the staff at The Willows with what seems endless “ hellos”, “ how are you?” and general chit-chat during the day with her. This seems trivial but the feeling of isolation and worry has been removed, and we now see our mam in ways we didn’t think we would again while we struggled to look after her at home. Thank you to everyone at The Willows for doing this and to everyone involved in providing her care.

My dad has been in The Willows for over four years now. His needs have changed in that time and he is now completely reliant on staff for all his basic needs and I know these are met well but I also see the staff treating him with compassion, dignity and respect.
They saved his life recently when he
choked. All the staff, care workers, nurses, domestic, kitchen staff, receptionist and manager are all lovely. Always a smile and a cheery demeanour from everyone.
I'm happy that his final years will be here.

Dad went to The Willows after being in hospital. Due to the excellent care he received, Dad went from being bedridden to walking within days. The level of care and compassion Dad received went above and beyond our expectations. There were times we couldn't visit due to Covid but we never worried about
Dad. We were kept fully informed at all times and nothing was too much trouble. We are so pleased Dad spent his last few months in their care.

My Dad was welcomed with open arms by The Willows manager and staff in October 2021. He came from hospital bedridden, they soon had him back on his feet, his health improved massively and he was well cared for. He formed close relationships with the staff, who were all lovely. He passed away recently
but as a family, we were so pleased he spent his last months at The Willows.

Fantastic care home! Cannot give them enough credit. I have worked in healthcare for 11 years and I have to say, the care, compassion and understanding from the staff here was some of the best I've ever seen! My nana was transferred here for end of life care after becoming unwell and from start to end,
the experience for both her and the family was incredible. They deserve so much credit and recognition for going above and beyond with our family and I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody. Fantastic team, well done, keep up the great work - you have no idea how much you're appreciated.

My Nana only spent a short time here before she passed away but the staff made us feel like she/we were part of their family. Nana received all the comfort she could have wanted as did we, the team spent time talking with us, laughing with us and crying with us; all the time making sure we had refreshments
and were as comfortable as can be, given the nature of our visit. Nothing was a problem for them and my family were treated with the greatest of respect from everyone. From the cleaners and care staff to the manager.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2017

The most important part of my role is to ensure residents are safe and living their very best lives every day at The Willows.


I love walking around the home and seeing residents smile, laugh and sing.


I feel incredibly proud of the team here, they are fantastic at looking after everybody and really have a positive impact on resident's lives. We have a good rapport with families, and they know that they can go home after a visit, knowing that their loved ones are in good hands.


As with most jobs, you need to have good time management skills and be flexible and respectful of others. It helps to be patient and have a good sense of humour too.


Before joining The Willows, I was a peripatetic manager looking after homes without a permanent manager. I have level two, three, four and five NVQs in Health and Social care and a certificate in management.


A big career highlight for me was being part of the team that won Region of the Year in 2023 and the Sales and Marketing Award in the same year.
