Dad went to The Willows after being in hospital. Due to the excellent care he received, Dad went from being bedridden to walking within days. The level of care and compassion Dad received went above and beyond our expectations. There were times we couldn't visit due to Covid but we never worried about Dad. We were kept fully informed at all times and nothing was too much trouble. We are so pleased Dad spent his last few months in their care.

My Dad was welcomed with open arms by The Willows manager and staff in October 2021. He came from hospital bedridden, they soon had him back on his feet, his health improved massively and he was well cared for. He formed close relationships with the staff, who were all lovely. He passed away recently but as a family, we were so pleased he spent his last months at The Willows.

Fantastic care home! Cannot give them enough credit. I have worked in healthcare for 11 years and I have to say, the care, compassion and understanding from the staff here was some of the best I've ever seen! My nana was transferred here for end of life care after becoming unwell and from start to end, the experience for both her and the family was incredible. They deserve so much credit and recognition for going above and beyond with our family and I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody. Fantastic team, well done, keep up the great work - you have no idea how much you're appreciated.

My Nana only spent a short time here before she passed away but the staff made us feel like she/we were part of their family. Nana received all the comfort she could have wanted as did we, the team spent time talking with us, laughing with us and crying with us; all the time making sure we had refreshments and were as comfortable as can be, given the nature of our visit. Nothing was a problem for them and my family were treated with the greatest of respect from everyone. From the cleaners and care staff to the manager.

My sister spent her last days in The Willows and the care and attention she and all of her family received, was second to none. All of the staff were amazing and nothing was too much for them. Her daughter was given so much support and I know she really appreciated how the staff looked after her Mum. Thank you all so much.

My mother-in-law was transferred to the Willows care home till end of life. Her care was outstanding for the small amount of time she spent there. The staff were all so very compassionate and caring towards my mother-in-law and my family. What a great team of girls - well done. We will always be truly grateful. I would strongly recommend this care home to anyone.

Absolutely amazing support and care were given to my mum during the end of her life and compassion towards my family. I will always be grateful for the wonderful care and kindness that was given, nothing was ever too much and the staff were 100% committed to making it as peaceful as possible. The Willows nursing home has definitely changed my opinion of what nursing homes can offer. Such a dedicated team - the management should be so proud of their team. Well done and thank you so much.

Amazing care home with staff who are nothing short of a credit to the home itself. They go above and beyond in the nursing department. My nana was only in this nursing home for a short amount of time before she sadly passed away, we as a family are so happy she did go to the willows for her last days as they were so very caring and compassionate not just with my nana but with all the family. They simply could not do enough for us and we are forever grateful my nana got to spend her last moments with us in this fantastic nursing home.

These words won't do justice for the love, compassion and dignity my father was given during his stay with the Willows Care Home for the five months he resided. Despite the terminal nature of my father's diagnosis, nothing was ever too much. The staff always went above and beyond. We were privileged to get to know the staff really well and would recommend this beautiful care home.

Sadly, on the 14th of February, my father passed away in the nursing unit of The Willows care home. He had lived in the residential unit for a year and only moved recently when his health deteriorated. From the very first day my father was made welcome, everyone went into his room to say hello and to introduce themselves to the family. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in dad's care. The kitchen staff for going out of their way to provide interesting meals, the laundry staff and housekeepers for keeping dad's clothes smart, the handyman for all the little odd jobs needed to make life easier and finally the carers supervisors and nurses who looked after dad so very kindly and made sure my mother was still part of his life.
Thanks also to the manager who, when the time came, made dad's transition from one unit to the other seamless.

In the last few days of dad's life, my sister and I spent many hours by his bedside where we were treated with dignity, respect and kindness

Sadly my father passed away on 14th February whilst a resident on Monroe Unit. He had been a resident in the residential (Presley) unit for around two years, prior to this. He was well looked after, as were we, always made to feel welcome and involved. It was reassuring to find out that although the staff seemed to be linked to a "usual" unit, there was some crossover, so after dads move, we still saw familiar faces of people that knew him and his likes and dislikes. I cannot praise enough the care and attention shown, not just to my dad but to all of us in his last week. I'm sorry this site doesn't allow names to be used as I would have preferred to have used names rather than titles, but Mr maintenance man, all of the domestic staff, carers from all units, nursing staff especially those on duty those last few days, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love and respect you showed us all. You treated my dad with dignity to the end and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Staff on the dementia nursing unit (Sinatra) provided excellent care to my relative. They had a great understanding of dementia and of our relative. Staff recognised their needs and were quick to act if our relative became unwell. Staff maintained a good level of communication with us. As a family, we were always welcomed into the home. There were always lots of staff on duty and staff worked together as a team to provide fantastic care. Staff were open and honest and were easy to talk to. They were very supportive when needed. The home was always clean and tidy. The food is freshly cooked and there is always a choice. There are regular snack trolleys with a huge variety of choice. We were extremely pleased with our overall experience of this home and would happily recommend this home to anyone looking for dementia nursing care.

Even though my Dad only had a short stay at The Willows, all of the staff were amazing towards him but the support we received as a family was wonderful. Any questions we had for the staff were always answered, even at busy times they made sure they could help. Every member of staff we met from the manager, nurses, care workers, laundry, cleaners and maintenance were always friendly and courteous. We have had poor care in the past from another home and to see the level of care at The Willows was enough to know that we could safely leave our loved one in your care. For which we are extremely grateful. Thank you.

The Willows is a very friendly home. The staff treat the residents like their own family. The staff also support the family too, as it is difficult dealing with a family member that has dementia. I think the home layout is well thought out so everyone can enjoy the garden.

The activities are good but I would like to have the residents partake of them more often.

Up until now, our experience of the home is overall good. My husband is well looked after by the staff and I am welcomed when I come to see him by all the staff and offered refreshment when needed. The staff work very hard and always smiling to which is so good for all the residents and their families.

Meet the Team (1)

Julie Gregory
Julie GregoryJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2017

The most important part of my role is to ensure residents are safe and living their very best lives every day at The Willows.

I love walking around the home and seeing residents smile, laugh and sing.

I feel incredibly proud of the team here, they are fantastic at looking after everybody and really have a positive impact on resident's lives. We have a good rapport with families, and they know that they can go home after a visit, knowing that their loved ones are in good hands.

As with most jobs, you need to have good time management skills and be flexible and respectful of others. It helps to be patient and have a good sense of humour too.

Before joining The Willows, I was a peripatetic manager looking after homes without a permanent manager. I have level two, three, four and five NVQs in Health and Social care and a certificate in management.

A big career highlight for me was being part of the team that won Region of the Year in 2023 and the Sales and Marketing Award in the same year.

In my free time, I love going out and about in our caravan, walking the dog and spending time with my family. When I get the chance I visit my son and two grandsons in Australia.
