The Poplars is a purpose-built care facility that offers long-term and short term Nursing, Residential and Dementia care, via a team of dedicated nursing, care and ancillary staff.

Each resident, and their family, are encouraged to be involved in the development of their own person-centered care plan, which is designed to take care of their medical needs as well as their emotional and mental well-being.

Respite care, Convalescent care and Palliative care are also provided. The home has been registered as a Silver Standard Care Home with Stockton Borough Council and is CQC rated 'Good' in all areas (May 2023). The Poplars remains Covid free and continues to serve the local community, and contributes to the area's care provision in any way it is able.

My mam was in poplars from Feb 2020 until she passed away in Sept 2024 she had dementia and could be very awkward but the staff loved her,she was on end of life for a week before she passed and she was treat with care and dignity,when she passed a lot of staff came in to pay their respects quite a lot
in tears mam was 8weeks from her 102nd birthday for her 100th birthday she was given a day to remember

My dad was in The Poplars for 4 years they looked after him as if he was there own member of family. The treated him with respect and much good humour he enjoyed all the activities. The food was not good but not bad, dads only complaint was that it wasn't hot enough, even then it was always warmed up
for him.
I can't thank The Poplars enough for looked after my dad.

My mum has only been here since 20th December 2024 and has been treated as I would expect, with care and dignity. She is happy and I feel she is safe and well looked after. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for them and I cam always aware that they are very very busy but they always
say they will come back when they can and they do come back. Makes me feel comfortable knowing my mum is ok.

I find The Poplars Care Home very friendly, caring and professional in their services and support. Rooms are good and staff are very helpful and supportive. Food is good and the building is kept in good order. I can understand why it gets top marks.

My dad needed 24/7 care and was dubious about going into a care home. However, The Poplars went above and beyond to ensure my dad was comfortable and went the extra mile to talk to him day or night and eased his worries. The staff in here always offered a cuppa on visits and even changed his room around
(god knows how many times) to suit him and his desires. I can not begin to express how amazing Poplars Care Home is for offering my dad comfort and support in his final weeks.

This si the second time my mum has been to The Poplars Care Home, her sister is a residential guest there, whereas Mum goes for respite care for her own well-being or whilst we are away on holiday, maybe two or three weeks at a time. The staff are all welcoming and treat Mum with respect and care, she
always tells us how nice everyone is, also how good the food i, which is really peace of mind for me and my wife. We would highly recommend The Poplars to anyone as a caring environment.

Following a brief visit to the hospital I was admitted to The Poplars Care Home and stayed for ten days. I had some physiotherapy and saw an Occupational Therapist. After doing exercises I could walk with the aid of a frame at which time I could go home. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and
overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Our brother was transferred from hospital to The Poplars Care Home for palliative care in June 2023. From our initial meeting with The Poplars manager through to our brother's last day there the care, kindness, compassion and dignity afforded by all the staff, to both our brother and his family, was
above and beyond our wildest expectations. The Poplars team were always friendly, professional, respectful and supportive providing a safe and caring environment for him to live in and us his family to visit at any time of the day or night when required. We would not hesitate to recommend The Poplars Care Home to anyone who needed to use their services in the future.

My mum has dementia and it was lovely to see her happy and content when we picked her up. When we dropped her the people and staff are so friendly and we like how the staff brought her a cup of tea over as soon as she came in. The room was so bright and cheerful and we loved the colour overall my mum
has a had a brilliant time and it makes it easy for me to leave now.

My wife came into The Poplars Care Home for assessment care and was there for about three and a half months. She was well looked after during a very difficult period. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our sister has been in The Poplars Care Home for only coming up 5 weeks. Due to her health declining and other issues, she will need to live where she will be supported, helped, treated with respect, dignity and seen as a person. As from the moment she went in from hospital, the staff are meeting her
needs, it's a lovely atmosphere, and my sister wishes to stay there, which says a lot about the home and staff, as in the past she has stayed in a shocking place. I have visited different times and the staff have always been courteous, to my sister and other residents. I have seen activities taking place and they always looked and sounded fun for all concerned. The meals looked nice and my sister was always told what was available and had choices.

My first impression of The Poplars Care Home was that it needed a good coat of paint to make it look homely for the residents. The staff were all very friendly (bar one). The meals looked very nice (but small portions).

Having to stand outside in the wind and rain for ten/fifteen minutes.
The manager's attitude talking to me like a five-year-old child.
