Review from Karen S (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 October 2021 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My mother entered Amathea quite unwell and very depressed following a hospital stay and caching covid in March this year. She is now a totally different lady in terms of positivity and physical strength. The activities provided by the Activity Coordinators are excellent and keep my mum stimulated mentally. Care for her personal needs is of a high standard and the GP is contacted quickly when needed. I will forever be grateful to Amathea for their support and care of my mum at a particularly low point in her life.

Thank you so much for your positive review. It has been a pleasure watching your mum settle into Amathea. She has made some great friends with other residents, which is lovely to see.

Amathea has the kindest and loveliest staff. They have made my nana feel incredibly welcome at a very difficult time after an injury she sustained. Nothing is too much trouble and myself and my family are confident that my nana is well looked after in a warm and safe environment. We could not recommend Amathea more. Thank you for everything.

Due to Covid-19, I am unable to provide some ratings as have not been able to enter the care home. My Mam has only been in Amathea since December 2020, to date, she has been looked after really well, everyone in Amathea has been great, both with Mam and myself. I am really impressed with everything.

My husband is the happiest he has been for ages. He enjoys all the activities. Since he had Covid, his dementia has got really bad, but all staff treat him lovely and with respect. Staff also ask about my welfare and it is appreciated. I couldn't answer some of the questions because I can't come inside because of Covid. Many thanks for looking after him so well.

My father has been in this care home now for 6 months. During this time, the staff have been consistently excellent, treating my Dad with kindness, patience, and humanity. It was very difficult personally to accept my Dad was at the stage where he needed to move to a care home, but the outstanding staff and high quality facilities and support have been an enormous reassurance to me.

My mother, unfortunately, had a brain aneurysm several years ago and is now a resident of the Amathea facility. I now live overseas so visiting the facility can be very infrequent, but I returned back to the UK recently and after visiting my mother in the Amathea facility I left feeling that my mother could not be better cared for, the relaxed, informal yet professional atmosphere was a delight to experience, with all the staff happy, friendly and supportive.

Please pass on my sincere regards to all.

My mother stayed at Amathea after a stay in hospital. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice and clean, the food lovely. Mum ate better than she had for months, visiting was great and we could go any time and as often as we wanted.

Following a stay in hospital my Auntie needed somewhere for a respite stay. We were lucky to find Amathea Care Centre. The staff made us all feel welcome and the care my Auntie received was wonderful. With a lovely room and excellent food her stay was as good as it could possibly be. Thanks to everyone.

My dad has recently become a resident here.
He seems settled and happy here. It is a cheerful place, well lit, bright and extremely clean and welcoming. All the staff are friendly and have endless patience and a good attitude to all the residents. The food is well prepared and appetising and varied.

My dad is well looked after, cleanly shaven and mostly clean and fresh. Nothing is too much trouble and his room is comfy and warm.
