My dad has been here since Easter. Staff have gone out of their way to help him feel comfortable and at home, even throwing a ball with him individually. They have been kind and supportive to my mum too. The whole family have been well looked after in this very difficult time.

Food and care = very good, entertainment really appreciated and stimulated for him. Thank you.

The hardest thing to do was to putting my day into a home, but every member of staff was so welcoming and made me feel at ease and showed how caring they all were. The rooms are being updated and will all look amazing once done. The food and drink is always flowing and I get to eat with Dad like being at home. This care home definitely carers for every of my dad's needs and that's all I need to know. Thank you.

Everyone here has been so caring and kind to my father with his dementia and when he passed away. Nothing was too much trouble it is evident the staff all really care about their patients.
The home has the feeling of a big family home!!
Thank you so much!!

P.S. the 'guard of honor' to escort him out of the home when he passed was just beautiful.

I am very happy with the all-round care my partner is receiving. The staff are friendly, approachable and have a very care minded, attentive attitude towards the residents and their family. Entertainment is suitable for their needs (games) and singing groups make a lovely chance to join in. All aspects of care, support and friendship are met by all members of staff.

Since my relative came to this home Cartmel Grange, she has been treated with exceptional care, respect and dignity. She is quite complex and some special needs. She was in other care homes before coming here, this home is far superior in the care they give. Cannot praise the manager enough + the staffs approach to giving care.

From the very first day my husband was admitted to Cartmel Grange I knew he would be well cared for. All the staff are always most welcoming and attentive, no matter what the need. My husband has many needs and issues, but he is always clean and tidy. This room is beautiful and clean. Although he prefers not to leave his room, his food is brought to him, the menu appears to be varied and well presented. He never complains. The laundry service seems to be very efficient now after some minor issues when he was first admitted. The entertainment seems to be very important, although we never partake. Special occasions are always celebrated well. A home that's very professional in my opinion.

My dad was admitted here from hospital must be 8 years ago now and the staff couldn't do enough for him. They took proper care of him, better than the hospital. The first day there, myself and the family arrived a couple hours later, 3 adults and a few kids and they welcomed us, made us all some tea and ice lollies for the kids after tea. The care and love they had for him was amazing. They also made a little buffet and a cake for him for his 65th birthday and we had it in the TV room on the 3rd floor. I will never be able to thank them enough for what they did in the little time he had left so thank you.

Overall Experience
My mother has been in Cartmel Grange Care Home since March 2024. There are lots of well trained, caring, staff and they frequently check on the residents when they are in their own bedroom, and keep a close eye on them when they are in the TV room or community rooms.
The place is very clean and nicely decorated.
There is entertainment in the form of singers who come in regularly and activities for the residents to partake in.
And they have a bus that takes residents on days out to local attractions, wheelchair bound or not.
Food is good and plentiful. And detailed records are kept on each resident.

The only down side is that, for my mum, it is very expensive.

My mother has lived at Cartmel Grange Nursing home over the past two and a half years and I am writing this as her life nears its end. The staff have been fantastic, so kind, caring and compassionate and I take great comfort knowing that my mother is in their care. Cartmel Grange is an old building, full of character. Highlights for my mother have been trips to the dining room each day for lunch where she has made new friends and enjoyed the food. Cartmel Grange encourage families to come and eat alongside residents which is really good. The garden is fantastic, the views amazing and we have spent many happy days in it.
