Overall Experience
My mum moved into Westmorland Court in November 2021 and is in a comfortable room and well look after by all the care and nursing staff.
It has been a big step for my mum to go into a supported full-time care environment, but every time I see her, she seems happy and content and a reflection of the care she receives.
As I live locally I am able to visit regularly and have the bonus of being able to bring her out of the home for trips out and a change of scenery.
The staff provide excellent communication whenever I contact them and extremely accomodating for visits and days out.

Thank you to all the team at Westmorland Court.

Overall Experience
My mum has been a resident for nine years (in April). She is very well cared for and is happy and content there. She has dementia and does not recognise me or my brother. Unfortunately, I have not seen Mum since August 2021 so have not visited the home for six months. I have now moved 185 miles away so have to book visits well in advance. Unfortunately, the snow stopped the November visit and Covid my last two planned visits. I am hoping to visit in April when mum is 90.

The staff are always friendly and very caring. They know Mum well and how to handle her. My brother lives closer so visits when he can. He has no complaints. Occasionally I have been sent a WhatsApp video by the staff and these are much appreciated. My only criticism is the lack of communication. I would love a monthly report or video but understand that the last two years have been very difficult and challenging. I think the home has dealt with the Covid outbreak incredibly well. I admire the staff.

Thank you for your kind comments, I will ensure to pass these onto the staff. We will take on board your comments about a monthly report and see if that if possible going forwards.

Overall Experience

It has not been possible to really know how things work on the inside because of the Covid restrictions over the last year and more. However, I can attest that there is a friendly atmosphere when I visit and I see Mum being treated with gentleness, kindness and humour. She remarks on how well staff get along, how clean the home is kept and how hard the activity coordinator works to come up with different things for residents to do. She says that care, domestic and admin staff all do their best to help her and finds the manager a warm and efficient person.

Thank you for your lovely review. Covid has been a very challenging time for residents, families and the staff. We are looking forward to a time when we can welcome you into the home fully.

My Mum has been a resident at Westmoreland Court for quite some time now. The staff are very caring, friendly and kind. The home has a lovely atmosphere and I feel very reassured that my dear Mum is being well looked after and cared for. Whenever I visit I am greeted with welcoming smiles by all the staff. The home is warm and comfortable. It's never an easy thing to accept someone you love has to leave their own home to be careered for, but it's comforting to know that they are being looked after by professionals in a safe environment.
