I can't thank everyone at the care home enough for the kindness, care, and support they showed mum during her stay. Every member of staff treated mum with dignity, compassion, and respect, always going the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable and well looked after.
The home was clean, welcoming, and had such a friendly atmosphere. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the genuine care shown by everyone made a difficult time so much easier.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for excellent residential care. Thank you all for everything you have done - you are truly amazing.

My daughter has got advanced Huntingtons with very complex needs , on top of other problems
she can be very hard to handle , I care for her at home but she goes into restbite so I can have a break
I've tried a lot of care homes and she always came back damaged grazed and sore so I was reluctant to try another but I can honestly say this is the best home she has ever been in
She never gets left in her bedroom and is always brought in the lounge , she gets all feeds on time , never gets any sores or grazes
they have gone above and beyond to look after her
I am starting to feel more happy each time she goes in as I no how hard she can be
Nurses and staff are great with how they look after her and the manager makes beautiful cakes for coffee morning and is not afraid to help out to
I'm feeling a lot happier that I can use my restbite days and no she's been looked after properly xxxx

Would recommend to anyone xxxx

From the day my father-in-law was admitted, the care was second-to-none, all of his needs were met and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The staff were also a massive support when he was unwell.

We can't thank them all enough for making his stay a good one, we chose the home due to the warmth of the environment and staff when we came in and we are so glad we chose Bannatyne Lodge.

When entering the care home there's a lovely warm welcoming feeling. My mam is very happy with everything and now feels safe and secure and enjoys the interaction with both staff and fellow residents. They have a lot of events going on and Mam enjoys getting involved. It is a great relief to the family and giving us all peace of mind.

Staff are very friendly and professional and are willing to help in anyway.

There is nothing wrong that can be said about my stay at Bannatyne Lodge. I know I was there for only 6 weeks but the staff was brilliant. They could not do more for me the place was always clean and if you needed anything they would get you it if possible. So to all the staff I would like to stay thank you very much.

My Mum lives at Bannatyne Lodge and I haven't seen her so happy and relaxed in years. It's like living there has taken a huge weight off her shoulders and she can enjoy life again. All of the staff and the Manager go above and beyond, always kind, warm and caring. Mum is now taking part in so many lovely activities and always has someone to chat to. It's a relief for all her family to see her so happy, safe and well cared for.

My brother was moved into Bannatyne suffering with vascular dementia & Alzheimers. The manager was, from the 1st day of meeting home to carry our an assessment, a completely knowledgable, yet kind and understanding professional. She clearly influences her staff & colleagues with the same attitude and demeanour. My brother is settled, happy & so well cared for. I will be forever grateful to the whole team for the way they look after my beloved brother.

My husband was admitted into the care home on the 16th May, the lovely manager helped me a great deal to have him discharged from hospital with good advice. He had a bad experience in hospital and I was so relieved for him to be accepted into this lovely home for his last few days. He was kept comfortable in a nice clean, comfortable room. He sadly passed, but knowing he was well cared for in a relaxed environment helped me a great deal.

Thankyou to all involved.

My 90yr old father had a fall at home and was badly shaken. Respite care was suggested and as he lived in Peterlee and the home was next to his doctors we contacted Bannatyne Lodge. Best call we ever made. From the moment we initially rang to enquire, to the reception of my father, to the time we left we were treated with complete professionalism that could not be faulted. My father ended up staying just over three weeks and he really enjoyed his time there. The food was top quality and plentiful. The staff from the manager down to the cleaners were a great friendly bunch of people. Many had been there 10+ years and a couple over 20+ years, which spoke volumes about the home as an employer. The activities were gentle but fun with encouragement to join in, my father enjoyed the bingo, dominos and even the wine tasting! Over the three weeks he regained his strength, at all times he was encouraged by the staff. He is now home but knows where to go if he wants a weeks R&R. 5* treatment.

Experience first class from the start. Staff absolutely fantastic and so reassuring in helping deal with a very emotional and stressful transition into care. First morning made a lot easier by joining in with weekly coffee morning ( delicious home baking), and meeting staff and residents in informal social atmosphere. All staff are professional , courteous and helpful and treat residents with dignity and respect. They work hard to create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere with lots of smiles and good humour. My mam is living a full and active life- both within the home where a great range of activities and interests are promoted- and outside in the community, going to church and out for coffee with other residents. She has made friends and staff reorganised the dining room so that they could sit together for meals which was very special .Visitors always welcome and staff will transfer calls to a mobile so I can speak to Mam at any time .Great management and staff team. Highly recommend.

Staff are always on hand to help and are kind, cheerful and smiley. They do their best to make sure that all needs of the residents are tended to.
The facilities are spot on and are adapted for each resident based on their needs.

The only thing that my nanna has issues with is the food as she is very fussy. She cannot eat a lot and much prefers smaller portions. However, this being said, if she does not fancy anything on the menu, they will endeavour to make her a sandwich or some soup. This is primarily her biggest problem/issue but staff do try their best to cater for her. It isn't their fault that she is so picky!

My father was admitted to Bannatyne Lodge for palliative care. My mother wanted to be with him so we arranged for a two-week respite care with the view that my mother could decide whether she wanted to stay permanently. Within three days my mother made it clear she wanted to stay. She liked her room, the staff was so caring, and she liked the food and the fact that the staff introduced her to other ladies in the dining room. Her decision says it all - Bannatyne Lodge has given me peace of mind that my mother is happy and my Father is receiving excellent end-of-life care.

The staff at Bannatyne have gone above and beyond for my mother, who sadly suffers from Huntington's disease, her health has rapidly declined over the years, and she is unable to verbalise her needs. A staff member made it her personal mission to get my mother to a family wedding earlier in the year, which was beyond all expectations, they are always trying to support her to the best of their ability, and extra special thanks to the carer, she is a fantastic nurse and carer, who has ensured my mother keeps her dignity and is fully involved and included, as much as she can be. Another staff member for her huge array of activities, even catering for residents' personal preferences, and another team member for his humour and making us smile, just to name a few of the great team, lots of familiar faces which shows what a committed and caring group of people they are, who value the work they do, thank you so much for all you do, keep up the hard work.
