Bannatyne Lodge Care Home

My father was admitted to Bannatyne Lodge for palliative care. My mother wanted to be with him so we arranged for a two-week respite care with the view that my mother could decide whether she wanted to stay permanently. Within three days my mother made it clear she wanted to stay. She liked her room, the staff was so caring, and she liked the food and the fact that the staff introduced her to other ladies in the dining room. Her decision says it all - Bannatyne Lodge has given me peace of mind that my mother is happy and my Father is receiving excellent end-of-life care.

The staff at Bannatyne have gone above and beyond for my mother, who sadly suffers from Huntington's disease, her health has rapidly declined over the years, and she is unable to verbalise her needs. A staff member made it her personal mission to get my mother to a family wedding earlier in the year, which was beyond all expectations, they are always trying to support her to the best of their ability, and extra special thanks to the carer, she is a fantastic nurse and carer, who has ensured my mother keeps her dignity and is fully involved and included, as much as she can be. Another staff member for her huge array of activities, even catering for residents' personal preferences, and another team member for his humour and making us smile, just to name a few of the great team, lots of familiar faces which shows what a committed and caring group of people they are, who value the work they do, thank you so much for all you do, keep up the hard work.

Found Bannatyne Lodge Care Home to be lovely and a great choice. Care is excellent, treated with dignity and respect at all times by staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My room is decorated to a great standard, cleaned every day to a good standard, en-suite as well. Food is good and snacks are available too, even a trolley selling goodies and treats. There are activities, a hairdresser and others onsite if needed. Would recommend this home highly.

All staff are excellent and care is excellent.

Well if I'm honest, I did not want to end up in a home and since I came, which isn't long, I've changed my opinion about being here. The staff try to keep us all happy which is impossible because I'm awkward and hard to please.

I find this care home to be friendly and relaxing and staff friendly and helpful, this has put my mother's mind to rest, she now gets the help she needs to do everyday tasks that she has not been able to undertake whilst living alone in her bungalow.

First experience of care homes, and I can honestly say that all my fears were unnecessary as every member of staff has been great. Social areas are comfortable, and surprisingly, my father has adapted very well. Food always looks nice and plentiful. Rooms are adequate enough for one person's needs and can be made homely.

My sister is well cared for and is very happy at Bannatyne Lodge Care Home. Nothing is a bother for staff, you are always made to feel welcome.

All staff are pleasant and courteous and nice to clients.

My mum has been a resident of Bannatyne Lodge Care Home since August 2022. I am happy with her care and she has settled in well and seems happy. She likes the staff and they have time to chat with her. I believe that the staff are committed to providing the best care for the residents- within the limits of national funding. Our family go in every day and are treated well by the staff.

We have found Bannatyne Lodge Care Home to be a very good service, in this, there appear to be able to identify and care for our father's needs very well. All staff are very approachable and professional and provide a great service.

Aunt is on the nursing floor and is very well cared for. They are trying their best to help her through, it is not always easy. All the staff are friendly from management down to cleaning staff. She is always clean and well cared for. She is not well enough to leave her bed but previously the staff would encourage her to join in activities.

The staff have been really excellent in the care home and particularly the staff are super.

The food could be improved.

At the end of January, my mother-in-law was admitted from hospital for total nursing care. The welcome and care she received from all the staff was excellent. However her health was very poor, and as she was of sound mind and able to make her own decisions she made it clear she did not want to return to hospital. The decision was made for end of life care to commence and the staff allowed very close family to be with her until she died. This gave the family great comfort. I would highly recommend this nursing home for compassion and consideration. The physical nursing care was excellent. The family are delighted that we chose this nursing home.

Our dad went to Bannatyne from hospital. The staff we immediately met were warm and friendly. Due to restrictions, we weren’t allowed in or to visit in the first week which was hard for him and for us. Staff kept calling in to chat with dad which helped him settle. Our interaction with the home has been excellent and nothing at all has been any trouble to anyone without exception. They really care and treat dad with the utmost respect, kindness and warmth. The staff speak to him as a person. Dad is joining in the activities much to our surprise but delight. The garden area is lovely and will be wonderful to be in when the summer comes. We have visited dad at various times and there is always a lovely atmosphere. All the residents seem happy and there is a lovely buzz when you walk in. Dad is now a permanent resident and we as a family are very happy that dad is able to stay as he is happy and content and that is all you can want. Would highly recommend.
