Excellent support for my mam, the care is first-class, the room is clean, the facilities are good, the support for her medical needs has been great. They also provide secondary support for my dad when he visits, just checking he is ok and giving him a coffee on his visit. My mam has been in the Barchester
Hundens Park Care Home now for over three years and we have no complaints at all.

The home is wonderful. The building could be the 'best' hotel. The staff, from the wonderful cleaners to the brilliant manager, would be very hard to beat. The welcome, smiles and professional attitudes are rare in any environment but the happiness your staff express is phenomenal. I am very blessed
to have my husband nursed with such care and love. After fifty-three years of marriage, I never though such a parting would ever be so joyful. I know if I die tomorrow he will be loved and cared for.

Since Mum went to stay at Hundens in May 2022 staff were absolutely excellent with her. They treated her with respect and compassion. I felt she wasn't just 'another' resident but a treasured and valued individual. Her last month there before she passed away all staff went above and beyond my expectations
to care for her and make her comfortable. In addition, they were very caring and compassionate to me during the difficult time. I highly recommend Hundens Park.

My mam has been at Barchester Hundens Park Care Home in the Swanton unit for one and a half years. I did not think she would settle when she first arrived there. With the care of all the nurses and carers, she seems happy in her own little world. The staff are very kind to Mam and myself. I have 52
miles to travel to see her, so in the beginning I was very worried with her being so far away but I now know she is being well looked after, I am happier.

I cannot fault this care home. It's clean and tidy, and the staff are very professional, caring and friendly. My mam, who has been there for just over a year, has been looked after so well by the caring staff, and nothing is ever a problem for them.
I would recommend this care home to anyone and would
like to say a big thank you to every member of staff. They should all be very proud of themselves.

My grandma resided with Hundens Park Care Home for a short couple of weeks. From the day they said that they would be able to take her, my grandma was thrilled and the happiest we had seen her in weeks after her cancer diagnosis. Hundens Park welcomed my grandma with open arms and immediately felt like
she was part of a family which again, welcomed us and we were made to feel part of the family. My grandma sadly took a turn for the worst and unfortunately passed away but the care from this home was unbelievable! We will never be able to thank Hundens Park enough for their work, kindness and sheer respect! They allowed us to stay with grandma day and night and I can truly say that they have the best team! I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of Hundens Park for their kindness! You made my grandma very happy and she really did feel at home! The food was fantastic and the care, safety and cleanliness of the home were amazing! Would definitely recommend!

My mother has very advanced dementia. Hundens Park was recommended due to the high level of care she needed. They were the only home local to us that could provide that level. They are amazing with her; she is supported, cared for and loved, even by a team that has taken the time to get to know her.
The meals are healthy and plentiful. It really is a home-from-home. Highly recommend it.

I cannot fault this care home at all. It's clean, and the staff are just wonderful with my mum, who has been with them a few years. She suffers with dementia, and although she cannot recognise me now or make her needs known, the care the staff give her is just wonderful. They are so loving and patient
with her. It really is wonderful to see. I know my mum is getting 110% care where she is and trust the staff with her implicitly. I really can't praise the staff here highly enough.

I have found the home a very friendly place where my husband is very well cared for. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff to help him. All the staff are brilliant and very caring. My husband and I are very happy with everything.

My mum has been a resident in Hundens Park's Swanton Suite for a small number of ladies with advanced dementia symptoms since August 2019. She is cared for with respect and understanding by the staff team. Sadly due to dementia she suffers with some challenging issues around her physical and mental
health and as her daughter I just can't express how grateful I am for the specialist care Mum receives. Although Mum sadly no longer recognises us, and is unable to express her needs, it's a comfort to know that she is cared for with kindness, understanding and nursing skill. This level of care for vulnerable elderly people is difficult to find and I am so thankful that we found this brilliant home. During the pandemic, keeping Mum and the other ladies in her unit safe has been an exceptional achievement and I would like the staff team to know how much we appreciate their skill and dedication.

Dad moved into Hundens in Sept 20 where he immediately settled in. Whilst we have not been able to visit him in the home due to Covid-19, we are confident that Hundens is well maintained and the residents well looked after by all staff. It has been very difficult not being able to settle Dad in ourselves
but the staff at Hundens have been wonderful in supporting him and the family every step of the way. They have answered our many questions and gone out of their way to help us have as much contact with Dad as possible. Garden visits in Aug/Sept and more recently we have been able to chat to dad via Video Call, organised by Dad's carer, from which we can see he appears to be happy and settled. The staff are genuinely fond of Dad and manage him very well. The family, especially our Mam, have been given peace of mind that Hundens is the home for him and we are very happy with his care. The answers are based on our garden visits and video chats as we have not been inside due to Covid restrictions.

My dad resided here for about 18 months. From him arriving at Hundens Park Care Home he settled immediately which settled me, he suffered vascular dementia by the time he moved here he was quite bad. So to see him smile again was a great feeling for us as a family.
Towards the end of his life, we were
in the coronavirus pandemic so we couldn't visit him at all from March, we managed a garden visit at father's day, but through the three months I would get pictures from one of the carers of my dad and he was always smiling. When he took really poorly it was a great comfort for us to know that the staff really cared and he was never left alone through the tough days.
Overall this home was a happy place for my dad as it was the only place he didn't try to escape!
The staff are special people especially one carer, who travelled 1hr 30mins by bus and train to attend my dad's funeral. I would recommend this home.

Sadly in the national lockdown, my husband was moved from his care home to Hundens Park, I say sadly because I couldn’t be with him through this transition and I was very concerned and upset for him, however, the staff have been amazing, I get so many FaceTime calls each week and phone calls when he
wants to speak, all on one of the staff member's personal phones, and if the staff member is reading this, I really cannot find the right words to express the deep gratitude I feel for you, you have made this whole awful experience the best it could have been, with or without Covid. I know my husband is challenging but I honestly wouldn’t want him with anyone else, we love you even though we hardly know each other. Thank you for taking such great care of him and thank you to Hundens Park for the wonderful facility, I can see how happy being there has made him.
For reference my husband has complex needs, he has Parkinson’s, dementia and mobility issues, he is a challenging character, to say the least!

I could not be happier with the care my father has been given by Hundens Park. The staff are outstanding and really care about the residents. I feel confident he is in good hands and can't thank the staff enough for the amazing job they have done, keeping him safe through this difficult time.

Mum was a resident for 2 years, and during that time she was treated with respect and dignity, in a loving, caring, professional way. Hundens Park Barchester Care Home in Darlington looked after my nana for just over three years.
All I can say is she was looked after so well by very caring staff who became like friends and looked after us as a family too when we visited her.
We as a family miss Nana so much, but I have to say

My mother and father were both residents needing 24 hour care.
Myself and my brother cannot praise staff at Hundens highly enough.
Not only was the medical care second to none, all aspects of Mam and Dad's wellbeing was considered.
Empathy shone through in such a genuine manner.
All staff were amazing,
in the four weeks Mam and Dad were there, staff had really taken great care to understand and deal with their needs.
Mam and Dad sadly passed away in less than 24 hours of each other, it was expected but we were kept informed throughout with enough information to be there when they passed away.
The whole team were faultless in their work. Thank you one and all. Your care of our parents meant so much to us.
We would recommend this compassionate and professional care home to anyone.

I was very impressed with the level of care my mother received. Unfortunately she was only in the home for 2 weeks before she died. She was great with kindness and respect. She received first rate care. Someone even sat with her all night before she passed. The gardens are beautiful, my Mam really enjoyed
the gardens. I was not sure about a nursing home for Mam but once the decision was made we knew we had made the right choice. Thank you.

Ana

Ana Trifasi

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2010

Ana is our General Manager here at Hundens Park. Ana has been qualified as a Registered General Nurse for 17 years and has spent 14 of those years at Hundens Park. Ana’s first role at Hundens Park was as a Care Assistant.


She then progressed through various roles, including Registered Nurse, Clinical Lead Nurse, then Deputy General Manager. Ana now works as the General Manager of the home. Ana is very passionate about palliative care and is one of our three Palliative Care Champions at Hundens Park. The Palliative Care Champions are ensuring that we provide a dignified and respectful journey to all of our residents.

Victoria

Victoria Goodchild

Job Title: Deputy General Manager Joined: 2023

Victoria is our Deputy General Manager here at Hundens Park. Victoria has been qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse for 6 years and has spent 4 of those years within Barchester Healthcare. Victoria’s passion for Nursing lies within elderly care and she has worked in both older age acute mental health services and Dementia care services since qualifying as a Nurse. Victoria is one of three Palliative Care Champions at Hundens Park. Victoria is currently studying for her Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare and Social Care management.

Laura works as the Home Administrator at Hundens Park. Laura has worked in finance and administration for the last 15 years and has now come to join our Barchester team.


She has also previously worked in a care role in Dementia and complex care.

Duncan is our Head of Maintenance at Hundens Park. He has worked in maintenance roles within care home services for the last 8 years. Before this, he worked as an Engineer at Nissan for 15 years. Katie works as Senior Care Assistant at Hundens Park on our General Nursing Unit. She ensures the smooth running of the unit and exceptional care delivery is maintained. Katie has worked at Hundens Park for 10 years, having gained her NVQ 3 Health and Social Care qualification during her time here. Katie is also our Speak Up Champion for the home.


The Speak Up Champion role ensures we create a culture where everyone feels safe and supported to speak up about any concerns they may have, and Katie ensures she supports this by being a voice for all at Hundens Park.

Jess has worked at Hundens Park for the last 10 years in the role of Care Assistant, supporting residents in our General Nursing Unit. Jess is also our Wellbeing Champion here at Hundens Park. The Well-Being Champion is able to signpost and support their colleagues with maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing, whilst promoting a positive working environment.

Caitlyn works as a Care Assistant in our complex care units. Caitlyn has trained within Barchester to become a Dementia Champion. Dementia Champions ensures that our staff are equipped with the knowledge to be able to provide the best quality care possible to our residents. This is by ensuring staff have the skills required around types of Dementia and the effects Dementia can have on a person, and by understanding residents’ individual needs.
