Middleton Hall Retirement Village is an award-winning, purpose-built retirement community set in a beautiful 45-acre estate that offers a range of residential care services and supported apartments. Independent retirement living apartments and bungalows are also available to purchase on site.

The care services offered include:

Middleton Grove - supported apartments in the historic heart of Middleton Hall offering spacious and comfortable rental accommodation. Care support, housekeeping and dining services are included to enable residents to enjoy an independent lifestyle.

Middleton Court - a higher dependency care service designed for people living with, for example, a progressive neurological condition such as Parkinson’s disease, those recovering from a stroke and people requiring a higher level of physical care, such as a needing a hoist to help with mobility difficulties.

Middleton Gardens - residential care in bright and spacious ensuite rooms with communal dining and sitting areas, supported by friendly and professional care teams.

Middleton Oaks – three households providing innovative small group living facilities for up to 8 people living with dementia or memory difficulties. A lifestyle where residents can participate in different events and use all the facilities available on site is promoted.

All residents are supported to stay active and independent and daily activities and regular trips are organised. Residents, their families and friends can enjoy the village’s extensive community amenities including the Orangery café and shop, restaurant, library, art studio and the estate, with sports pavilion, bowls, boules and pitch and putt, woodland walks and community allotments.

The onsite Health and Wellbeing Centre team also assist residents to use the gym and fitness studio, swimming pool, jacuzzi and therapy rooms and undertake one-to-one sessions.

My Mum lived in Middleton Oaks for nearly two years and I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful care she received from all who helped to look after. I knew that I had found the very best place for her to live where she was happy, felt safe and well looked after. She had a lovely room and enjoyed
the beautiful grounds.
The staffing was very consistent and all staff well trained. They all knew Mum really well and helped her to take part in the activities she most enjoyed. Respect was always shown for individual likes, dislikes and characteristics. Dementia made life difficult for Mum but all the staff were kind, patient and expert at helping her feel more relaxed. She was always looked after with loving care and compassion.
As my Mum's health deteriorated the staff ensured she had the medical care she needed. Nothing was too much trouble in ensuring she was comfortable and as peaceful as possible. They were always a huge support to me and particularly during Mum's last few weeks.

The care my mum received in her last few months at Middleton Hall was second to none. The home is immaculately clean. The decor up beat, modern and comfortable. The care staff are of the highest professional standard and just as importantly they were all so caring and compassionate with my mum until
the end. My mum was so happy and content there and knowing she was safe and loved and well cared for was everything to me. The care staff responded calmly and so quickly when she was at end of life. They ensured that she was kept comfortable throughout and had dignity at her most vulnerable time. They were also incredibly supportive to the family and helped us through a very difficult journey of saying goodbye to our lovely mum

Middleton Hall all staff work together. Like cogs on a clock or wheel. Everyone is treated with dignity. It is tranquility in abundance, and care. It is like a haven of peace, tranquility in abundance. I have had a wonderful staff and look forward to my next stay, as a visitor or to stay.

I think a welcome pack would be helpful with the number of reception, gym & hairdresser & podiatrist. Also to have a list of activities left in the room. We were told there would be name tabs to stick on articles for washing. These haven't materialised. The carers are AMAZING, nothing is too much
trouble. They are making the holiday for me.
Plenty of activities to chose from, impressive. Thank you

Both parents spent a couple of months of needed Respite Care at Middleton Hall. Although together, they lived in separate Care Areas because of differing needs. For us the communication between Care Staff at all levels in both areas
was so helpful as there was so much to continuously communicate.
Similarly the Reception Staff dealt with all issues so courteously and the Accounts Dept were clear and efficient handling queries etc. This all helped my parents have the restful stay they needed, and importantly helped us to cope with everything and concentrate on them.
So turning to their care, the accommodation is spotless and the facilities, gardens etc adding much more to the enjoyment of the place. Involvement depends on what residents can manage and so inevitably there are quiet days ahead. This is where the empathy and professionalism of the Carers was delivered with knowledge of our parents needs and situations. It's taken a while to post this but with genuine reflection and thanks.

My husband's type of dementia makes him quite challenging to deal with. The staff at MH constantly bend over backwards in their efforts to make him happy. Nothing is too much trouble.
They are constantly observing his moods and behaviour and respond with great sensitivity and compassion. They try to
encourage and help him to engage with the many activities.
I have also been impressed by how much support the staff have also offered to us, the family. Can't speak highly enough of them, truly impressive.

Four years ago my brother in law on his death bed told me that my sister had dementia and would need caring for. The problem was that I lived in the North East and they lived in the North West and as I lived in a one bedroom bungalow there was no way that she could live with my wife and I so a care
home was the only solution. We looked at a number of homes around where she lived but none looked suitable enough so we looked at homes in the North East witch would suite us more as could visit her more often. After looking at a dozen or more we finally settled on Middleton Hall Retirement Village as they had a unit specifically for people suffering with dementia. The care and support my sister received was second to none, The carers and all the staff were friendly and treated my sister as if she was a member of their own family. wherever we went they knew my sister and I cannot thank the staff and everyone who works there enough.

Mum was wonderfully cared for, couldn't have asked for anymore. She was very happy in her three and a half years she spent here. It gave her the independence she would have wanted. The care my stepmother received was excellent. The staff are kind and caring, treating their residents as individuals. We were kept informed of any changes etc., especially towards the end. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. The establishment is well run. In each section my stepmother

My mother required urgent respite care, with a view to moving into a long-term care facility.
All the Middleton Hall Retirement Village staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating to both my mother and myself as we dealt with such a large change to her lifestyle.
It was inevitably an emotional
time for her and the staff showed great empathy for her situation. They were also very good at offering me advice and guidance throughout.
The Middleton Hall facilities are very comprehensive, well-presented and of the highest quality.
I would recommend Middleton Hall very highly indeed.

The management and staff go above and beyond in their care for the residents at Middleton Hall, nothing is a problem. I just needed a period of rest with everything taken care of following a period of acute care in the hospital. Middleton Hall provided exactly what I needed, privacy, peace and quiet, lovely surroundings, and very professional and caring staff. And delicious food which tempted even my jaded appetite.
Two weeks here and I feel able to take on the world again.

Middleton Hall is the pinnacle of professionalism and care. We moved our dad in towards the end of his life when his Alzheimer's became too much for us to be able to give him the care he needed and deserved. The staff at Middleton Hall were incredible. They were so patient and kind with him and with
us. We wish he could have enjoyed it longer as there were so many activities for him to enjoy and his room was beautiful with stunning views. Sadly, it was not to be, but we are greatly comforted knowing that he was cared for so well right to the end.

I would like to thank the staff at Middleton Hall Retirement Village for their excellent care and support shown towards my mum, during her recent week's stay. The staff were both professional and friendly - getting to know my mum very quickly, helping her to be independent and assisting her when she
needed help. During her stay, she enjoyed many of the activities on offer - a day trip, the knit and natter group, and especially the assisted swimming (which she loved!). The opportunity to mic and chat with new friends ensured she enjoyed her stay enormously and knowing she was safe and happy gave me great peace of mind. Another visit is already being planned.

Colin

Colin Inglis

Job Title: Care Director Joined: 2021

I was honoured and excited to be join the team at Middleton Hall Retirement Village as their Care Director on March 1st 2021. With this role, comes the opportunity to shape, develop and influence how Middleton Hall’s care services move forward and fully believe in the vision and values that have been established.


One of the exciting things is that this is a completely new role at Middleton Hall and I am planning to use my knowledge and experience to add value to the important services that we provide to our residents and families as well as our care teams.


Having initially qualified as a Registered Nurse, I have spent all my career predominantly in the private healthcare sector working with some local smaller companies, as well as larger national care providers. During this time, I have developed my managerial and leadership skills working in different roles within the sector, from Care Home Manager, Regional Director and Operations Director, before joining Middleton Hall.


As Care Director at Middleton Hall, I am responsible for providing clinical and some operational leadership and with the support of the Co-owner team, am focused on Middleton Hall being established as a provider of high-quality care and wellbeing and developing a motivated and engaged care services team.


In my spare time, I enjoy watching all types of sports, particularly rugby and trying to play a bit of golf.

Debby McGinnes

Job Title: Head of Care and Quality - Registered Manager Joined: 2000

Debby qualified as a nurse in 1984 and spent the early part of her career working for the NHS (older people, accident and emergency and surgical). Debby then moved into the private sector and worked in a private hospital in Grimsby, working on surgical wards and managing occupational health, whilst also working part-time as a tutor at the local college. Training has always remained an important part of her role now.


Throughout her career, Debby always admired older people because of their life stories that make that person unique. A passion she still holds today.


Debby is interested in holistic medicine and qualified in Reiki as well as Indian Head & Swedish Body Massage. Whilst at Middleton Hall, she achieved a first-class honours degree in dementia studies.


She built on this with further dementia training by becoming a Positive Approach to Care (PAC) trainer with Teepa Snow.


Debby enjoys the variety of her role - every day at Middleton Hall Retirement Village is different. Teamwork is essential as everyone has a role to play in making a difference to the lives of older people and supporting them to live their best lives

Sheenagh Young

Job Title: Middleton Oaks Care Manager Joined: 2010

Sheenagh is responsible for the care and wellbeing of 16 residents predominately with dementia and a team of 30 Co-owners in Middleton Oaks. Her team are responsible for every aspect of their care; cooking, cleaning, caring for and entertaining all Middleton Oaks residents.


Sheenagh's team ensures that person-centred care is provided, and achieves this due to the relationships they build with their residents. The team in Middleton Oaks don't see themselves as a care facility, they see themselves as home.
