My husband moved to Chasedale Care Home in November. I feel I made an excellent choice as my husband, with the help of staff, has settled well. The staff are incredible, very patient with him, looking after his every need.
Thank you for sharing your recent experience of our home. We are pleased that it has been so positive and look forward to seeing you again soon. Have a fantastic day.
On behalf of my father's transfer to Chasedale, because of it being an all-male resident's unit, his problematic behaviour has settled and as a result of that unit, the staff are coping, with their experience, of dealing with male residents and behaviour challenges. On visiting he appears well, clean and tidy, uncomplaining, although he has his mixed-up, anxious times and can be challenging in the evenings/night time.
Thank you, Joan, for letting us know how we are doing at Chasedale Care Home. The care and wellbeing of every resident is our number one priority and it is rewarding to have such positive feedback about how we are doing.
After my last visit the staff were fantastic with my dad, really seemed to care. Thank you.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback about our home. We are pleased to hear that your experience has been positive and appreciate all of your kind comments about our team. We hope to see you again soon.
Assessment: Staff took full medical history to acknowledge Mam's physiological, psychological, sociological and spiritual needs to help identify her appropriate level of care within her two-week respite stay.
On arrival: Staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly.
Quality of care: Provided high standards of care.
I felt reassured and happy with Mam's overall care/stay.

I find the staff very helpful, very understanding and very patient with service users. Also, the management is very cheerful, helpful and is very approachable even when very busy. I am very satisfied with the service at Chasedale Care Home.
Thank you, Margaret, for your feedback following your recent experience at our home. We are happy to learn it has been a positive one. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how we are doing. Have a wonderful day.
There appears to be a shortage of staff because the last time I was there, there were only 2 staff on duty and were attending to 2 patients who needed changing and another patient who was aggressive by throwing a plate on the floor and shouting. This is not very nice when visiting a relative and can be quite frightening in such situations.
There have also been other occasions when other patients have been aggressive towards each other, even on occasion making approaches to visitors. In my opinion, this appears to be due to under staffing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are very sorry to hear of the concerns that you have raised and would welcome the opportunity to discuss these in more detail. Please, could we ask that you kindly contact the Home Manager or Regional Manager for the care home in the...

We cannot speak highly enough of Chasedale and the caring, approachable, lovely staff team. Dad was very poorly when he was transferred nearly two years ago due to his increased nursing EMI care needs. The nurses and carers have been fabulous, he has received the most dignified, caring care and we cannot praise all the carers enough. They are always welcoming, friendly, interested and caring even though they have the most difficult job. They have been such a support to us and just knowing that dad is looked after so well makes us feel more settled. Communication is great, dad is always well presented even though he is nursed in bed. They have given us an extra two years we never dreamt we would have. The home came recommended to us and based on our personal experience, we would not hesitate to recommend Chasedale.

This home needs a total overhaul, everywhere in the home is very very shabby. It's totally unfair for the residents to live in this very rundown place. Personally, there isn't enough staff to care for the people placed there. Some of the care is very slap happy. Food given to residents is totally not acceptable. Rooms are very dark and very basic. Food is transferred by trolley (food not covered), every time I have visited the home staff are gathered outside smoking, also cigarette butts litter the area, just because people suffer from dementia doesn't mean they have to do without a proper standard of living. Respect and treated like human beings and not having to end their lives in a depressing place like this.

Management not interactive. Do not know about service users or names. Carers inappropriate towards service users, pulling faces, eating their food, speaking nastily.
No prompting coaching to take medication just left on the table. Breakfast left out until 12pm. People not dressed, rooms untidy and dirty. No handrails or seat raisers. Visitors not kept in touch with about other visitors. Staff not knowing a great deal about patients. Food portions too small for some residents.

An excellent care home. Good all round attention to residents and their needs, in a clean and pleasant environment.
After many months of worrying over the day that Dad we knew would need full time nursing care the day arrived. Although only in Chasedale 6 months, this team has left a huge lasting impression on our hearts. Dad was precious to us and they treated him in this fashion. In his final weeks you saw that this was more than a job to these carers, they hugged and gave him a peck on the cheek every night at the end of their shift I think just in case he was no longer with us the next day. They looked into his eyes when they spoke to him it was never a chore. They reassured us that he was in safe hands which they did with such dignity and care. we owe them a lot. Dad is at peace now and they made that journey a little easier. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts thank you from our family to the Chasedale family xxx
The care, love and devotion given by staff, it's not a job to them, more a vocation.
Cannot thank them enough.
They really care for their patients.
My husband went into Chasedale at Blyth in January 2017. He was aggressive - it took four carers to change him. He wouldn't eat very unhappy. After a few weeks they managed to take only one career to change him. He now eats everything, has put weight on and is happy - he smiles and laughs at staff dances. He still knows the family which we cherish at the moment. It helped us so much to know he is cared for so well, is safe and is always clean and happy. After the previous home, he was in it's like a miracle. The staff are all amazing and very caring with all the residents. My family and I can't thank them enough. I would recommend Chasedale to anyone.
My wife was placed into care in Chasedale approximately 18 months ago after I had looked into homes within a reasonable travel distance. I have been more than satisfied with her care over this time even though at the time I was very reluctant to allow placing her into any home. I have found the management personnel, the nurse and the carers to be concerned and caring. Everyone I have met is helpful and knowledgeable and they keep me informed about my wife's sleeping, behaviour etc. I visit every day and have seen "difficult" situations being handled so well and nicely.
