All staff are approachable and friendly. They talk to the residents not just to each other so there is a nice atmosphere. There are different activities each day like Tai Chi, table football, quizzes and massage and themed days with live music for VE day etc. The food is very good with a varied selection.
My dad had salmon and roast lamb one week, with a glass of wine available with Sunday lunch in the Court. If my dad is ill nursing staff monitor him diligently too. I have worked in different care homes and would highly recommend Morgana.

Overall my dad receives excellent care with his needs being met by caring staff. Although I've noticed more and more new staff with the unability to communicate with residents, which has led residents to become frustrated and shouting at the members of staff. I have also had difficulties communicating
with staff over the telephone and having to ask them to repeat not to sound rude I have finished the call not totally understanding just piecing bits together and hoping I've got it right.

Reply from Stuart Davies, Quality Compliance Manager at Morgana Court and Lodge

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we're happy to hear that you feel that your dad receives excellent care from our team. We're also pleased to hear that his needs are being met with kindness. We're sorry to hear of some of the recent difficulties you've experienced with communication and appreciate you raising this. Morgana Court in my experience is a very welcoming care home. All the staff, carers, nurses, cleaning, laundry and catering are wonderful, they cannot do enough for my husband and myself. As soon as you walk into reception you feel so welcomed by the admin staff and the manager. My husband is settled
there and I feel he has been very fortunate to have had a place here. Our family and friends who visit have also said the same and are very impressed with the home.

Reply from Bikram Choudhary, Director at Morgana Court and Lodge

Thank you very much for your kind comments - the management and staff teams will be delighted that your husband is well settled and you and your family are happy with the home and the care given.

Since my mother has been in this nursing home she has thrived. Her well being and health has been better. My mother is always clean. The staff are always pleasant and I cannot fault their care and attention towards my mother. The care is outstanding in this building. The building is kept to high standards
and is very clean. The nursing team and staff are professional. I would definitely recommend this nursing home and we are lucky for my mother to go to this nursing home.

Mum and Dad moved into Morgana Court in 2021. They had two rooms, one as a bedroom and one a sitting room. This was the only Care Home that offered this option at the time as Dad needed nursing care and Mum residential. We were very grateful for this and they got a divan bed in for Mum rather than a
hospital bed which was a nice touch. Dad sadly passed away in 2024 and Mum stayed on. She's very happy there. Talks highly of the staff and as a family we agree. It's quite a small care home but pleasant and it doesn't smell as so many do. The staff are friendly and caring. The room is clean and bright. I think we made the right choice.

Reply from Stuart Davies, Quality Compliance Manager at Morgana Court and Lodge

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave such positive feedback. We were so pleased that we were able to support both mum and dad as we fully understand how important family connections are, and will always make every effort in keeping families and couples together.Home comforts and personal touches are key in person-centred care and we are happy to know that we ere able to achieve this for both mum and dad with there separate and shared spaces. We were sorry for your loss when dad passed away, but are so pleased to know that mum remains happy with us. Thank you again for your kind words, and we look forward to sharing them with our team.

My Dad has been at Morgana Court for just over two years. The care is superb. The staff are caring and very kind. They know my Dad's preferences, likes/dislikes and what routine he favours. He is always clean, showered, shaved.
As a family, we are well informed and included in decisions about his
care. I know I can always chat with the staff about any concerns.
My Dad loves the food and there is a good choice. His room is always clean and tidy.

Disappointed that there has been no improvement on being able to gain entry to see my grandma. Waited 45 minutes on one occasion to get in. Attitude on some staff (mostly managers) is disgusting. They speak to you with no respect and like they know my grandma better than her family. Entertainment and
activities available could be massively improved. Some entertainment and activities seem very cheap and not well-prepared or thought out. Parking is a nightmare there, especially as there is a skip taking up space in the car park. Seating in communal area for visitors is extremely limited, more movable seats would be good.

Reply from Stuart Davies, Quality Compliance Manager at Morgana Court and Lodge

Thank you for your feedback. We value all input as it helps us to improve continually.
We are sorry to hear of the challenges faced on visiting and the issues you've raised. We take your concerns seriously and will review them internally.
Improving visitor access and waiting times is a priority for us, as we understand the importance of family connections. Our management team are committed to providing a respectful environment for all residents and visitors.
We usually have excellent feedback regarding our activities but will take your comments on board.
Parking can be an issue, and we have recently created more parking spaces available.
Lastly, we acknowledge your feedback on limited seating in communal areas, we’ll take on board your suggestion of moveable seating, but also need to balance that with resident safety, space, and practicality.
Your feedback is invaluable to us, please do reach out to us directly should you like to discuss any concerns in further detail.

I would like to say the care home has given my next of kin a new lease of life.
She is well cared for every effort is made to make her feel at home.
She lived on her own before moving to Morgana Court and Lodge and I'm sure she felt isolated.
She loves the company and the care she has been given.
The
staff are incredible nothing is too much trouble.
I couldn't be happier with the care home.
Many, many thanks to the staff on mine and her behalf.

The staff overall are very caring and understanding especially in view of mother's lack of sight which creates an issue regarding her need for constant attention, which obviously is not possible. The food she says is excellent as is her room, though we did have to ask for the medication cupboard to
be moved after she hit and cut her head on it. Although mother has only been a resident for six weeks we have come to know several members of staff and have been very pleased with their attitude and support with some of mother's issues.

Reply from Bikram Choudhary, Director at Morgana Court and Lodge

Thank you for the kind review. Unfortunately, medication cabinets in rooms are not suitable for all residents, and we are sorry your mother had this accident in her room. We are pleased the hard-working staff team have been attentive to her needs.

It is a pleasure to walk into the home and all communal areas and this is due to the excellent cleanliness throughout. Exceptional care has been shown to our uncle since he has been a resident at Morganna Court. Most friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble for them. Very approachable and we are

My mother is a resident of Morgana Lodge and I can't begin to say how relieved I am that my mother is getting the best care there. I live far away and can't visit on a regular basis, but every time I call (I try to call at least 3 times a week), I am given all necessary information on my mother's well
being, eating, drinking, happiness, etc. I get to talk to her every time and the staff always make me feel like I'm a part of my mother's care. They are always happy to put my mam on the phone for me to talk to her, they never make me feel like it's an inconvenience. I have family visiting her and they always say the same thing - that the Lodge is taking really good care of her and she looks really well. In fact, I enjoy calling and speaking to the staff as they are so friendly and I would say that they treat my mam like family. So grateful for all that they do for her.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.015)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.015) out of 10 for Morgana Court and Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.580 for Morgana Court and Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (85 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.58

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.435 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Morgana Court and Lodge is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.635

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
