Review of Mill View Care Home from Christine F (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister in law has been at Mill View for nine months. She lived alone for twenty years since her husband passed. Went into Mill View after having a few falls and was afraid to be on her own. She says if I die tomorrow, I have had nine months of feeling spoilt. She is so happy the staff are absolutely wonderful. We would not want her to be anywhere else.

The staff at the home are always caring and considerate in their interactions with my mother and helpfull to myself and my family. As her dementia has deteriorated they have sought to find ways of dealing with it and engaging with outside agencies. The buildind is kept clean and clothing and bedding are laundered on a daily basis.

Review of Mill View Care Home from Ian W (Son of Resident) published on 8 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
It's not easy handing over the care of a loved one to someone else. But from the very first meeting with the Milview manager, our minds were put at ease.
Not only was Mam made to feel at home and cared for, but the whole family were made to feel welcome. We never felt we were in the way.
Even the family dogs always had a fuss made of them.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Communication was great and over the two and a half years Mam was in Milview the staff were not just Mam's carers, but, along with some if the resident, her friends too.

It's clear that, for the staff at Milview it is not just a job. They clearly care for the people they look after and we can't thank them enough for the way they cared for Mam.

Sadly my dad passed away in the early hours of 22nd April 2026 after a short illness that meant he was moved to palliative care. The care home could not have done more to help and support us as a family during the end of his time at TY Nant. The care shown to him and us as family was exceptional until the end.
We were treated as family and you could see the genuine upset they were feeling for dad during this time as they described there own stories of his time there and sharing their own tears! He has been a resident since December 2023 with dementia and has always been happy and never once asked to leave or go home!
Dad has always loved his food and the chefs did a fantastic job of keeping him well fed. He also loved being with Shawn and Geoff and being a part time office manager!! The leadership of this team is fantastic and all of the staff are amazing working in a tough job with a smile and always there to help!

We are forever grateful for the love and care he has received.

My dad has been a resident in Morgana Court for almost 4 years. The care is so good. He is always clean and well-shaven. The staff are caring and compassionate. They are all aware of his likes/dislikes and encourage him to join in appropriate activities. He moved from residential to nursing care last year, seamless transition. Excellent home. When my mother was being transferred from the RGH to Mill view I was both happy that she would no longer be staying at the hospital but also had an element of concern, would she be looked after the way we wanted?? It took my 1st greeting to the home to know that we had made the right decision. The staff here are absolutely fantastic at what they do!! Kept us updated on my mams health, we're always welcoming and approachable, had a bond with my mam that was beautiful to see and took care of her like she was their own family. I know my mam was happy, comfortable, looked after and felt at home here and as a family we are so grateful to ALL staff for everything they done for my mam and us. I would recommend Mill view to anyone who wants the ease and peace of mind of knowing their loved ones are having the love, patience, dedication, care and dignity they so need at their end of life. Thank you to all the staff from myself (Tracey), my mam (Jackie) and all the family xxxxxx

We have welcomed Kate's appointment, it is good having e mail contact with her.
It has been a process getting staff to adapt the new measures around Dad's eating, the placemat is a good initiative, however we have had to prompt staff to read it .
In October we had issues with how cold Dad's room was , re windows being left open and heating not on. As a result we have bought him thicker socks and sweat shirts . The heating is now fully on so the situation is resolved.
We had an issue with not being notified of a change in meds taking for Dad .
We are still getting times when we visit and Dad is in his room with no telly on . Dad spends a lot of time on his own so telly is his company . He does benefit from time in the lounge , please can you chase up his OT assessment, hopefully he will be able to do this daily.

We still have concerns of the length of time Dad is on his own , for his psychological well being we would like him to have some interaction every hour , please advise . Thanks

My husband has been a resident at Morgana Court since August 2024 and he is so settled and well cared for. As soon as I walk into Reception I am made to feel so welcome. It is such a lovely atmosphere. The nurses and carers are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them. There are many activities going on each day and for special occasions. Although my husband has difficulty communicating, he is always included. The Activity Co-ordinators are lovely. The Catering, Laundry, Cleaning and Maintenance staff are so helpful nothing is too much trouble for them. My husband is happy here, and our family and friends are really impressed with Morgana Court. Thank you everyone.

I could not be happier with the care my mother is receiving at Ty Nant. The staff (led by Kathy) are amazing. They are kind, dedicated, patient and genuinely care about my mam. The facility itself is spotless and comfortable. The administration is efficient and always available. The kitchen staff are lovely and are constantly engaging with the residents.
