When making the hard decision to put Mum into a care home, we visited many. The Romily from the first visit seemed the right place for Mum. We are so happy with every aspect of her care. The staff are so caring and patient. I would happily recommend this home to anyone. Thank you for all your care and
dedication.

My mum is very well looked after at the Romilly. She had lost weight on entering the home but has now gained a great deal thanks to the individual attention from staff.
Staff are very caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Communication is excellent, especially when reporting incidents
and concerns.

My mother has been a resident since May 30th 2024. The care from the staff has been excellent, from the office to the nursing staff. We have been impressed with the patience and the attention to detail that have been a constant feature of the care my mother receives. We would always be happy to recommend
Romilly to friends and family.

I am very pleased with the care my mother has received and for the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The home is bright, clean and welcoming. My only slight issue is that Mum usually sits near the toilets and these are occasionally a bit smelly, understandable in the circumstances!

To see Mum smiling and enjoying life again after her long stay in hospital is an absolute delight. The staff are all friendly, helpful and warm. Nothing is too much for them. Mum is once again chatty and relaxed. Thank you all so much. It's such a relief to know you are all there for Mum when we can't
be. The home is always clean, tidy, warm and cosy. The staff are always happy to greet us and make us feel part of their family.
Reply from Mahesh Patel, General Manager at Romilly Nursing HomeThank you for your review and kind words. We are pleased that Mum has settled in well and that you feel Mum is being cared for well by our care team.

Dad has been here for 3 months and everyone involved in his care has been brilliant. From management helping us with the transition from hospital to nursing home and they are always available for us, answering questions and having regular reviews.
All the carers provide excellent care and nothing is
too much trouble. They attend to Dad's every need and we, as a family, know he is safe and well cared for.
The activity team provide lots of fun and involves Dad in their daily activities with a smile and gentle touch.

We have found all staff to be very welcoming, kind and caring. Our mum has improved cognitively since being discharged from hospital and moving to Romilly and the activities coordinator and management have done their best to engage her in a range of activities. Her quality of life has been hampered
hugely by ongoing issues with hearing aids and dentures. We are trusting these will be resolved as soon as possible.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.819)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.819) out of 10 for Romilly Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.819 for Romilly Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (255 Excellents x 5) + (52 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 309 Ratings = 4.819
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Romilly Nursing Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
