Was amazed by how settled and happy my dad was during his stay here. He has dementia and can become distressed when in new environments.

All the staff were amazing. I felt really happy knowing that he was being well cared for physically and emotionally. Highly recommended!

My mother has been here for five years so I have quite a good knowledge of this home. In a society where we can no longer rely on our health service to provide the care we have probably expected all of our life’s I can genuinely say this is a nice place. It’s very clean and the staff are hard working. I do have some minor criticisms but they really are too small to mention. There are a lot of residents with some form of dementia which, in itself, can be a challenge. However, the staff are cheerful and try to be attentive. This is a good place.

Nobody wants to be in a position to put any of their loved ones into care. Due to a nasty fall at home, my mother was put into a local nursing home for her own safety. After a few months, I realised that the home she was in was a mistake. She is now a resident at Glais House Nursing Home.

The staff and management are professional and their standards of care are very high. My mother is cared for and treated with dignity. Her room is always neat and tidy. The staff are kind and understanding. It is a pleasure to visit day or night. My mother does experience difficult times, but the staff are always at hand to reassure her. I would highly recommend Glais House Nursing Home to anyone.

Glais House has looked after my mother exceptionally well. I have nothing but praise for the home and quality of staff that work there.

The staff seem genuinely fond of my mother, and take a great deal of trouble to make sure she is happy and understands things - she is blind and deaf as well as having dementia so this is not easy. For example, if she wakes frightened in the night after a bad dream or delusion, they will take her to sleep in the lounge on a recliner where there are people around and she feels safe.

The staff are friendly, caring and very hard-working. The managers are continually improving the home and care arrangements, for example they are meeting with an RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) project manager to look at improvements for people with sight loss. I am certain my mother is safe and as happy as she can be and has the best care and medical support.

Her room, the communal areas and the food are also excellent and well suited to the needs of the residents.

My mother is always treated with tender loving care preserve her dignity. They talk to her and not at her despite her deafness. They tell her what they are going to do before they do it e.g bath her or take her to the toilet. She is always clean, never smells and is dressed nicely, she is well fed, her food and fluid intake is monitored and recorded. Her safety is paramount. She has a beautiful en-suite room that is always clean and tidy. The staff keep me informed of anything relating to my mother e.g health and doctors.

If you want the best care for your loved one look no further. The quality of care and empathy provided by the manager and the staff is exceptional. Mum only spent six months in the care of Glais but we could not fault the standards and love that was given to her in that time. A huge thank you to all the staff for all the support they gave to mum and the family. Thoroughly recommended without reservation.

Although my mother was in Glais House only a couple of months she received the best care possible but friendly approachable manner. We never saw or heard a resident reprimanded or abused in any way. During my mums last few hours she was given loving care and her dignity respected. We were supported in the same way. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Within the constraints of the current policies of U.K. funding for the elderly, this is perhaps as near as damn it to the perfect care/nursing home in my opinion. I think that it would be easy to pick holes but they all would seem trite, as on the whole this is a well managed, dignified retirement/nursing home. The staff are all caring, well mannered and friendly. The rooms are faultless and the location is fantastic.

Having visited many care homes during my work, this by far is the cleanest home with the most approachable staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been here for a year and it has been a great weight off my shoulders knowing she is in such a safe and homely environment.

Very friendly, caring staff. Mum has settled well, and her well being is higher than it was in her own home over recent years. Sometimes I feel I'm 'nagging' to get particular things done and it's not always easy to contact someone with influence to change or arrange things. The home was very supportive about bringing her to a family wedding.
