Glais House is a unique, warm and welcoming nursing home based in Swansea. The home is situated on 4 acres of well-kept gardens, home to local wildlife and protected trees and an outdoor patios.

Glais House believe that having spacious and green environment makes a difference and enriches the lives of residents at the home.

Rooms at Glais House are bright and welcoming, with each room furnished with a profiling bed and WiFi. Residents at Glais House also have access to spa baths that can play residents’ favourite songs.

Activities coordinators at Glais House offer a person centred approach at heart and believe that each service user is an individual who have much to offer to us as much as professionals can offer to them.

Glais House has looked after my mother exceptionally well. I have nothing but praise for the home and quality of staff that work there.


The staff seem genuinely fond of my mother, and take a great deal of trouble to make sure she is happy and understands things - she is blind and deaf as well as

having dementia so this is not easy. For example, if she wakes frightened in the night after a bad dream or delusion, they will take her to sleep in the lounge on a recliner where there are people around and she feels safe.


The staff are friendly, caring and very hard-working. The managers are continually improving the home and care arrangements, for example they are meeting with an RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) project manager to look at improvements for people with sight loss. I am certain my mother is safe and as happy as she can be and has the best care and medical support.


Her room, the communal areas and the food are also excellent and well suited to the needs of the residents.

My mother is always treated with tender loving care preserve her dignity. They talk to her and not at her despite her deafness. They tell her what they are going to do before they do it e.g bath her or take her to the toilet. She is always clean, never smells and is dressed nicely, she is well fed,
her food and fluid intake is monitored and recorded. Her safety is paramount. She has a beautiful en-suite room that is always clean and tidy. The staff keep me informed of anything relating to my mother e.g health and doctors.

If you want the best care for your loved one look no further. The quality of care and empathy provided by the manager and the staff is exceptional. Mum only spent six months in the care of Glais but we could not fault the standards and love that was given to her in that time. A huge thank you to all
the staff for all the support they gave to mum and the family. Thoroughly recommended without reservation.

Although my mother was in Glais House only a couple of months she received the best care possible but friendly approachable manner. We never saw or heard a resident reprimanded or abused in any way. During my mums last few hours she was given loving care and her dignity respected. We were supported
in the same way. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Nobody wants to live in a care home but for my mothers care this home looks after her exceptionally well. I trust the management and staff. They are friendly, honest, caring and hard-working. They management staff are continually improving the home and care arrangements. I know my mother is safe and
has the best care and medical support. I have nothing but praise for the home and quality of staff that work there.

The home is warm and has a sense of care about everything it does. The staff are warm and caring as are the management team. The owner has made tremendous improvements to the estate and gardens. It is a happy place to work and staff are always smiling.

Within the constraints of the current policies of U.K. funding for the elderly, this is perhaps as near as damn it to the perfect care/nursing home in my opinion. I think that it would be easy to pick holes but they all would seem trite, as on the whole this is a well managed, dignified retirement/nursing
home. The staff are all caring, well mannered and friendly. The rooms are faultless and the location is fantastic.

Having visited many care homes during my work, this by far is the cleanest home with the most approachable staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum has been here for a year and it has been a great weight off my shoulders knowing she is in such a safe and homely environment.

Very friendly, caring staff. Mum has settled well, and her well being is higher than it was in her own home over recent years. Sometimes I feel I'm 'nagging' to get particular things done and it's not always easy to contact someone with influence to change or arrange things. The home was very supportive
about bringing her to a family wedding.

I have over 20 years of experience of working in Human resources. I have worked at Glais House for the past 11 years. I find the home to be exceptional in its care, as I had my own Mother here as a resident for a while. It has a very warm and cosy atmosphere with attentive and caring staff to look after the residents.
