Glais House is a unique, warm and welcoming nursing home based in Swansea. The home is situated on 4 acres of well-kept gardens, home to local wildlife and protected trees and an outdoor patios.

Glais House believe that having spacious and green environment makes a difference and enriches the lives of residents at the home.

Rooms at Glais House are bright and welcoming, with each room furnished with a profiling bed and WiFi. Residents at Glais House also have access to spa baths that can play residents’ favourite songs.

My father was only at Glais for 3 weeks before his death. However, my sister and I are eternally grateful to all the staff for the care they provided in that period which allowed him to pass away peacefully, in no pain and with full dignity. The way they treated us as family was also exemplary. We are
really pleased we chose Glais and could not have asked for more.

Nice place, very clean inside. The nurse on the day shift is always ready to help and a wonderful staff team who can't do enough to help you. The food my father gets is also very good and he eats very well since he has been at Glais House and always looks very clean when our family visit my father which
is nearly every day. There are two very large rooms with big televisions upstairs and downstairs, two lifts which help you get to wherever you need to go and the management and owner could not be nicer people. A really nice place.

My dad was a resident at Glais House but has sadly passed away the care he received was amazing. The home has a friendly, caring atmosphere, the food was lovely and homemade. My dad had palliative care for the last couple of weeks. We couldn't have asked for anything more from the staff. They not only
looked after my dad but me and my two sisters as well. They go above and beyond their job requirements. They made our dad's life (and ours) a wonderful, happy experience of family life. We will never be able to thank them enough for all that they did.

My mother came to Glais House after 10 weeks in hospital. She has Parkinson's, TIA'so and Dementia. The staff immediately set about making her welcome, assessing needs and preferences, foods etc.
She is receiving end of life care now as her condition has worsened.
I feel she came in knowing no
one but she will leave behind friends.
All staff exceed expectations, they genuinely care.
I wholeheartedly recommend this home.

My mum is currently a resident of Glais House where she is cared for and looked after to a high standard, the staff and management are friendly, caring, helpful and professional at all times which is very comforting to me and my family. We have shared lovely Xmas parties, afternoon singers etc together
with my mum organised by the home which is always so lovely for them and us to be still enjoying some happy times.
A massive thank you to all for looking after my most precious mum.

Very good care home in Glais. Staff are very pleasant, even when very busy. Some still offer a cup of tea or coffee. Rooms for residents are excellent, extremely clean and well looked after. Sometimes staff are under pressure, but seem to cope admirably. On the whole, I would give a very good 9 out

The staff are always helpful and pleasant. Nothing is any trouble. Mum settled immediately and felt safe and sleeps well which I know is proof that my mum's comfortable and settled. Thank you.

Our mother has been a resident of Glais House since January 2011. This is before the current managing director and his team took over the home.


In the time they have been in charge the level of service and standards within the Home have improved considerably. Money has been spent on the property

and the gardens, making it a much more pleasant environment. The individual rooms have also been improved and upgraded.


Our mother's physical health and mental capacity have declined since she entered the home. We feel that she is very well cared for at the Home.

Glais House provides a very good level of care indeed.
Staff are always friendly and supportive. Faced with a wide range of care need. They work very hard to support and assist residents. My mother gets a good level of stimulation and is actively encouraged to come out of her room into the lounge.
Mam's room is always clean despite her challenging health issues sometimes, the staff being very patient and gentle with mum if there has been an "accident".
Food is always very good. If there have been any issues, management have always been quick to rectify things.

While I realise that this home is not perfect this home must be as good as they come.
My wife has been a resident for nearly five years during which time she has received very good care. The staff not only look after her but also look after me when there are times when I feel extremely low. Overall
I would recommend this home to anybody.

My mother has been at Glais House for over three years. During this time I have visited my mother five or six times a week. Glais House is a caring and welcoming environment. The staff are professional and friendly. The management are supportive and communicative. I would not hesitate to recommend Glais
House to others. I am very happy with my mother's ongoing care and support. I consider Glais House to be an excellent nursing home.

All staff are friendly, courteous and obliging. Upkeep and cleanliness of the home is excellent.


Food (like everywhere) varies between good and sometimes not so good.


Care is very good but sometimes suffers a little due to (like everywhere) lack of communication.

A good care home is difficult to find, we visited many before finding Glais House. The manager is extremely efficient and an excellent communicator, the staff are kind, happy and proactive. The facilities and rooms are immaculate.
The management of Glais House helped me when I had to try to coordinate
between two different health boards, and provide the information that both councils needed for funding and showed patience when things were delayed.
Since she has been resident she had deteriorated but the staff and management have worked really hard to get her medication right and give her the best quality of life they can. They have even managed to get her out on trips, which she had not done for 3 years!
I would have no hesitation recommending Glais House, I would also say if your elderly relative needs a home which can cater to their changing needs both mentally and physically then Glais House is excellent.

Was amazed by how settled and happy my dad was during his stay here. He has dementia and can become distressed when in new environments.
All the staff were amazing. I felt really happy knowing that he was being well cared for physically and emotionally. Highly recommended!

My mother has been here for five years so I have quite a good knowledge of this home. In a society where we can no longer rely on our health service to provide the care we have probably expected all of our life’s I can genuinely say this is a nice place. It’s very clean and the staff are hard working.
I do have some minor criticisms but they really are too small to mention. There are a lot of residents with some form of dementia which, in itself, can be a challenge. However, the staff are cheerful and try to be attentive. This is a good place.

Nobody wants to be in a position to put any of their loved ones into care. Due to a nasty fall at home, my mother was put into a local nursing home for her own safety. After a few months, I realised that the home she was in was a mistake. She is now a resident at Glais House Nursing Home.


The staff

and management are professional and their standards of care are very high. My mother is cared for and treated with dignity. Her room is always neat and tidy. The staff are kind and understanding. It is a pleasure to visit day or night. My mother does experience difficult times, but the staff are always at hand to reassure her. I would highly recommend Glais House Nursing Home to anyone.

I have over 20 years of experience of working in Human resources. I have worked at Glais House for the past 11 years. I find the home to be exceptional in its care, as I had my own Mother here as a resident for a while. It has a very warm and cosy atmosphere with attentive and caring staff to look after the residents.
