My father has been a resident since August 2020 during the covid lockdown. The care home have succeeded magnificently during these most difficult times. I have been unable to meet my father and have had to rely totally on feedback as Skype communication is not feasible due to my father's advanced dementia. The home have gone out of their way to report back by describing my father's condition in a totally honest way, which my family do appreciate. My father seems so settled, is eating well, (who wouldn't with their fantastic chef) has put on weight and looks so well and presentable. (VCR is essential for this). The staff go out of their way to care for my father, he has been introduced to other residents and has made so many friends. If it was not for the dedication of the staff, we would have found the lockdown experience unbearable. I only hope that the situation does improve and once again we can meet and hug our loved ones. Bring on the vaccine.

My dad has lived at Glais House for the past 14 years and due to their care and support, they have treated dad with the utmost dignity. Nothing is too much for the carers and management. The care team are amazing, each and everyone play a special part in caring for my loved one. The love, care and respect they showed us as a family was so appreciated and we will forever be grateful. Thank you.

My brother and I chose this care home for our mother.
We are very pleased to see how well she settled in Glais; how her disposition has improved since moving in just over four months ago, after having to leave the family home where she lived alone. She now has a structure to her day, eating well and thoroughly enjoys the companionship of residents and staff.
The care home is situated in a pleasant location with well-maintained gardens and stunning views. The spacious day room is light and airy, comfortably furnished with easy access to the garden seating area.
The management team provide a highly professional service - they kept the residents safe by introducing lockdown measures well in advance, coupled with testing facilities and contingency plans. All staff are kind, welcoming and friendly.

We have been kept well informed of our mother's health and needs by phone and Skype. The Facebook site is regularly updated with photos of recent activities giving easy access to relatives.

Very welcoming care home in a beautiful setting. Visited some other local places when assisting my aunt with the transition to a residential home. This was as good as any. Friendly staff, professional and her room is of a very high standard and size and ensuite with a nice view. Better than some hotels that I have stayed at! Food also offered to family guests, this is very hospitable. Approachable and forward-thinking manager. Person-centred planning is considered for the guests. Nice spacious day room with a giant TV. Am happy that my aunt is now in a safe considerate environment. Skype and remote communication offered during this pandemic. A very sensible option I feel.

My mother has been a resident of Glais House Nursing Home for nearly 4 years. My brother and I chose this nursing home and on reflection, can honestly say that it has been the right choice for my mother's needs.
The level of care and commitment by the staff has been commendable at all levels. The home has been kept immaculately clean and we have never had reason to complain about any issue since her arrival.

It is also worth mentioning that through this Covid crisis, they have kept all the residents safe and to date, there has been no occurrence of this virus.

My mother has lived in Glais House for more than twelve months after having to give up her independence at home. She has received brilliant and patient care from all the staff, at all times, particularly at the beginning when everything was such a massive change. Recently, with the coronavirus outbreak, the staff have been wonderful, keeping a sense of normality when nothing has been normal.

The large lounge provides plenty of light and views of the garden and my mother enjoys watching the changing seasons while around her, the residents have a chance to take part in activities if they wish. After the very hard decision to move into residential care, I have no regrets and every day I'm confident that my mother is cared for and content.

What an excellent job all the Glais House Nursing Home staff have done in caring for residents and keeping them safe throughout this Covid 19 crisis, thanks to such sensible precautions taken in good time. From early on in the crisis they were ahead of the official guidance. What particularly reassures me above all is the highly professional, knowledgable and always caring and helpful key input of the nurse manager, underpinning the overall quality of care. Thank you Glais Nursing Home staff.

Moving a parent into a care home environment is a worrying time. We are so glad we chose Glais. The care is amazing, the environment is happy, caring and loving. Mum has now been at Glais for nearly 20 months and whenever we see her she is happy and cwtchy .The Coronavirus has been proactively managed magnificently by the home as was a Norovirus outbreak several months ago, a minor issue with hindsight. The professionalism of the staff is exemplary.

Every resident is treated with dignity and their family are always welcome. Communication is first class. Everyone smiles!

Glais House is a lovely friendly home. My mum has been there for just over a year now. The staff are so caring, very helpful. nothing is too much trouble and it puts my mind at rest knowing my mum is well cared for. The home itself is spotless and during lockdown has kept families up to date and posted pictures on their Facebook page which is lovely to see.

I can not praise Glais House enough. From when I first inspected the home to recent problems with COVID 19 their caring attitude and care have been nothing short of exemplary. Their quick understanding of the situation and the speed with which they took appropriate action in my mind saved many a life at Glais. If you are looking for a home for a loved one I fully recommend Glais house.

Every time I have contact with Glais staff or visit the care home I am thrilled that we chose it for our mum. All of the staff are caring, considerate and thoughtful. They all appear to enjoy their jobs and it shows in the happy atmosphere that they create for the residents.
There are plenty of activities to keep everyone engaged and they make the most of the excellent grounds as well. The staff have been amazing over the last few months, during the pandemic, and have kept us up to date with lots of photos, emails and Facebook entries so that we can all see how our loved ones are coping.
The care home itself (including mum’s room) is always clean, warm and welcoming and the grounds and gardens are lovely. You must have an amazing gardener! It’s great to see the residents enjoying that too and helping with the planting.

Staff seem to know my mum well and she is always treated with dignity and respect. We are welcomed when we visit and nothing seems to much trouble for staff.

Staff are always kind and caring towards my mother, who has been resident now for over three years. Initially, we never thought she would settle anywhere but when she was no longer safe to be left in her own home she went in willingly and settled very quickly. The staff are always approachable and knowledgeable about my mum's current state of health and mind. She has been ill with urinary infections lots of times and they have vigilantly cared for her in her room and sent her into hospital quickly when needed. They have been amazingly careful protecting the residents during Covid-19 without one single person becoming ill.
The management have kept us up to date with any pertinent news at this time to alleviate our obvious worries.

What stands out for me is the number of staff that have been in situ a long time. I have to say a big thank you to the activities coordinator and the PA as well as the amazing nurses who provide such good care. I will certainly recommend 100 per cent.

Absolutely amazing. Their response to lockdown has ensured every resident has remained safe and well. They set up a Facebook page and regularly post pictures which are incredible to see Dad while we can’t visit. They also update us by email, keeping us informed every step of the way. Dad has an absolutely beautiful big room with own decking and French doors so lovely and light. They check on Dad medically, constantly as a family, we have complete peace of mind he is safe and getting lots of attention.

Glais House is a lovely place! My father has been there for about 6-months, with advanced dementia, and they are doing a great job of looking after him, and making the most of the time he has left. They are also doing a great job with the lockdown; they took the necessary steps very early on, and have been virus-free, so congratulations on that. Food is good, and the place is very clean, with a high standard of hygiene! The staff are very helpful and kind, and are fantastic with the residents! Highly recommend!

Glais House has cared for my mam and dad with love, compassion and gentle care. Mam passed away last summer at the home after a long struggle with dementia and other serious health issues.
