My family and I are so pleased with all aspects of the wonderful care and kindness my mum has received since she entered this care home 3 weeks ago. Although a little apprehensive leaving my mum in someone elses care for the first time, we quickly realised she was in the safest of hands and marvelled
at how quickly she has settled.

Danygraig was chosen by myself and my wife, to home my brother! We had looked and considered several care homes in and around the area but the staff were excellent and knowledgable, the home was warm and the facilities excellent. I feel that my brother is in excellent hands with the staff at Danygraig!
Reply from Anju KC, Operations Executive at Danygraig Nursing Home

Thank you so much for your kind words Antony. It means a lot to us. Knowing that you feel he is in excellent hands is the highest compliment we could receive and provides us with immense satisfaction. It is our privilege to look after your brother.

My husband was admitted to Danygraig Nursing Home. He has suffered from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. His speech and mobility were declining when he was discharged from hospital, but he did not want to go to a nursing home. However, within a short time, he accepted it as his own home. All of
the staff nurses, carers, cleaners and laundry workers treated him as family and management and administration were kind and understanding to our family.
Reply from Anju KC, Operations Executive at Danygraig Nursing Home

We sincerely appreciate your kind feedback. It was a privilege to look after your husband, and he was a part of Danygraig family. We all miss him. Thank you for sharing your positive experience.

As a family, we cannot thank the management, nurses and carers enough for the kindness, respect, care and love they have shown to our aunty. Her staff there was very comfortable, safe and pleasant. The staff supported the family throughout her stay, especially during her illness and last few days. We
are extremely grateful and thankful.

As a nurse, I found choosing a suitable care home for my beautiful mum very difficult. My expectations and standards of care that I wanted here were high, maybe unrealistic. Having viewed quite a few nursing homes Danygraig by far stood out from the first phone call to the viewing, my mum moving in,
the management, clinical and auxiliary teams have been exemplary. Everyone has treated mum with respect, dignity care and kindness. Nothing at all has been too much trouble. The facilities are good, activities change daily, and mum has settled in well. I am delighted that she is in such a warm, caring and safe environment.

My mum has had the most amazing care every since she arrived at this home, most recently after a stay in hospital where she was really poorly, we though that it was the end. After arriving back at Danygraig the personal care the magic in this home has brought her back to his again. Tender love care
in abundance, we as a family, love this home. My mam, as a resident, also loves it.

My brother has been a resident at Danygraig Nursing Home for over four years. He has received excellent care from his first day. My brother tells me how good the food is and how helpful the staff are. Danygraig offers a wide range of activities for their residents and families are often invited to take
part. My brother gets first-class care from the friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. My brother's health and well-being have improved since residing here.

My mum has been in Danygraig Nursing Home since June 2023. The home is a lovely environment, a real home-from-home experience as much as it can be. The staff are all really helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The standards of the home are of a high level, and very clean. The food is fantastic,
home-cooked and good portions. I am very happy with the standard of care my mum receives and would recommend the home to anyone.

We have nothing but thanks to all of the staff at Danygraig who made my father's last few months as comfortable as possible, particularly thanks to one staff member who was always on hand to help. Looking back, we could not have asked for any more than what this care home has offered. Thank you all.

After a difficult couple of years during which my mother was in and out of hospitals and care homes, she became a permanent resident at Danygraig in November 2022. At last, I felt she was cared for safely and compassionately. The staff are cheerful, professional and above all, kind. They have dealt
promptly with any issues that have arisen and are always easy to talk to.

Mum has been in Danygraig Nursing Home for about a month. All the staff have been very welcoming and friendly, nothing seems too much trouble. She always looks well groomed (better than the last few months at home) and cared for. The nursing staff are very professional and on top of everything. Her
room is comfortable with a nice view. So far I have been very impressed right from the initial assessment until the present day.

My sister has learning difficulties and doesn't like change, so I was worried about moving her from Birmingham. I needn't have worried. The staff are all amazing! They make sure she is settled and very well cared for. The food is superb, has lots of choices and is always served so nicely on the plate,
delicious. My sincere thanks to every single member of the team you are all amazing.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.809)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.809) out of 10 for Danygraig Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.991 for Danygraig Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.818 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Danygraig Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 49 registered maximum number of service users is 9.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.8 = 0.918
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
