Mum has been in Danygraig Nursing Home for about a month. All the staff have been very welcoming and friendly, nothing seems too much trouble. She always looks well groomed (better than the last few months at home) and cared for. The nursing staff are very professional and on top of everything. Her
room is comfortable with a nice view. So far I have been very impressed right from the initial assessment until the present day.
Reply from Anchumol Peter, Manager at Danygraig Nursing HomeThank you so much for your valuable feedback. It is a pleasure to look after your mum in Danygraig.

My sister has learning difficulties and doesn't like change, so I was worried about moving her from Birmingham. I needn't have worried. The staff are all amazing! They make sure she is settled and very well cared for. The food is superb, has lots of choices and is always served so nicely on the plate,
delicious. My sincere thanks to every single member of the team you are all amazing.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this Nursing Home to everyone. The level of care from Managerial to Auxiliary was absolutely fabulous. My father had a short stay with them this month and he was very well cared for. The love that the staff gives to the residents and their families is unbelievable. The
Team are working so hard to update the premises but their care skills needs no improvement it is so wonderful. You all deserve every accolade you get. Wonderful.

My sister became a resident of Danygraig Nursing Home after a long stay in hospital during the pandemic. The staff quickly helped her to settle into her new surroundings and she is happy to be there. Staff are very knowledgeable about my sister and her medical conditions. If they have any concerns they
don't hesitate to contact me to discuss the best way forward for her. They have robust Covid prevention strategies to which they adhere. Danygraig staff are quick to answer the telephone and to alleviate any concerns about my sister. It is very easy to arrange a visit with your loved one and the home has a beautiful garden and grounds in which you can enjoy time with your relative.

This care home was highly recommended, and I was very impressed with the care my mum got during her time there. She moved in during the pandemic and was extremely well looked after. The staff went out of their way to give us access including bringing her outside when the weather was good, so we could
sit with her on their lovely decking area. I can't thank them enough for the care they showed in my mum's last few months; just like her GP did. I highly recommend it.

My father went for 8 days for respite and I am used to him being in hospital. The care he was given was excellent. As he cannot go into Residential because of his needs, a family member visited 3 times and Dad was happy, cared for and in good spirits. He looked well and enjoyed the activities provided,
they even rang me because he was a little anxious he hadn’t seen me, so I visited which put him at ease after I spoke to him! As soon as he needed anything, it was brought. I care for him alone and felt completely satisfied and would recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.832)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.832) out of 10 for Danygraig Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.982 for Danygraig Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (165 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 168 Ratings = 4.982
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Danygraig Nursing Home is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 49 registered maximum number of service users is 9.8, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
