Located in the heart of the Sauchie area of Alloa, Beechwood Park Care Home offers Nursing and Dementia care across five individual self-contained specialist care communities, where all the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard, each complete with ensuite facilities. The home has beautiful views of the large landscaped gardens, and there’s a summer house where residents enjoy outdoor activities.

The home has been organised to minimise symptoms of confusion or disorientation, allowing it to welcome clients with different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.

With its own dementia training, the home highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care. This specialist training also provides the hospitality team and chefs with the skills and knowledge to stimulate senses and increase creativity in the cooking and presentation of food. This can provide a much improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and or dysphagia.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
From my first visit to view Beechwood. I have found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. It is wonderful for me that my husband seems to be very content. The nurses are very good with what can be a difficult situation as he has no speech, so I tend to ask questions and I think we liaise well.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.734) out of 10 for Beechwood Park Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.759 for Beechwood Park Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (176 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 224 Ratings = 4.759
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechwood Park Nursing Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Marek Tarnaswki

Job Title: Home Manager

Marek is our Home Manager at Beechwood Park – here’s a glimpse into his role at the home in his own words:

“With over 20 years of experience within the care home sector, I remain deeply passionate about improving the experiences of residents, colleagues, and visitors in our care home. I’m responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and service are delivered in a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for all residents.

I work hard to foster open communication with residents and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are heard and addressed, and by leading the team with a focus on person-centred care, we’ve created an environment where residents feel respected and valued.

I aim to further develop our ties with the local community, through volunteer programs, partnerships with local organisations, and initiatives that bring residents and the wider community together. Strengthening these connections enhances the residents’ social lives and enriches the culture of the care home.

Ultimately, the joy in this role comes from the opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact on individuals’ lives while continuously learning and growing as a leader.”
