Thorntree Mews

The care and support that Dad receives has been second to none and the support for Mum and the reassurance she gains from knowing Dad is well looked after, is invaluable. When Dad was poorly recently, the nursing staff and care staff ensured that all his needs were met and that he received the best possible care to ensure his recovery.

My mum has been in Thorntree Mews for 4 years and I could not wish for a better place for her. She is treated so well and all the staff are so good with her and always make me feel welcome when I come in. Even when I make a phone call, it's never a problem for them to speak to me. The home is so welcoming and decorated beautifully and is always smelling nice.

My mum has been in this care home for about 1.5 years now and all staff and management are excellent - no complaints and they keep us updated with any news, even medical side, regarding Mum. We made the right decision moving my mum into this well-reguarded care home - excellent.

In the 2 years my dad has been a resident in this care home, he has thrived. The care and attention he receives is second to none. Always a nice smiling face greets you when booking in. Their policies are on the ball, especially when covid 19 started as they shut down the home straight away. Dad has put on weight with all the great food (not bad for a 92-year-old). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to everyone.

My mother-in-law has been in Thorntree Mews Care Home for the last two years and during that time, has received the utmost care, dedication and attention from the staff as a whole. This has been more apparant during the lockdown period and especially recently, with the objective of the staff, the well being of the patients, being paramount. I find all staff are dedicated to this aim and continually strive to ensure their patients are guarded as much as possible in the present climate. She is now over 100 years of age and although not being physically able regarding movement, from her shoulders up she is extremely alert to what is going on around her. The mere fact that she is extremely well looked after, enjoys the good food, has daily interactions with the cheery staff together with the homely, togetherness feeling gives her a 'good feel' factor and she is constantly praising the staff regarding their actions when I visit her. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Our mum is currently a resident at Thorntree Mews. She has settled in well and I no longer worry about her. She is so well supported and cared for with a lovely warm environment, good food and cheerful, professional staff. During this difficult time, the staff have remained consistent in their work and we appreciate that - thank you.

Now with the dedicated support from the nursing home staff, she is eating well, and on occasion, walking independently for short distances. This is a testament to the professionalism and commitment of the staff and management at Thorntree Mews. They liaised closely with us as a family as to my mother's preferences and what was important to her. They used creative thinking as to how best to present food that she liked in a way that would encourage her to eat. This being achieved whilst managing the restrictions due to Covid-19. My mother appears very settled with a good relationship with the staff. Thorntree Mews is an exemplary care home.

Because my contact with the care home has been mainly by phone I am unable to properly assess some features (food, activities, etc). But without exception, everyone I have spoken to has been caring, polite and professional. I would be happy to recommend Thorntree Mews to others.

My mum's been a resident in this care home for 3 and a half years. The care she receives is exceptional and we are so grateful for all the staff for looking after her so well. Very clean and has a homely feel to it. My mum enjoys being able to go on days out and enjoying activities and entertainment within the home. Great place with great staff who look after mum well and keep her safe.

Since my husband was admitted to Thorntree Mews, his health and wellbeing have been improving every day. The staff and management have been excellent in every aspect of his care and have always spoken to him and spent time explaining to the family about his everyday activities. Nothing is a problem to any of the staff, who treat him with great dignity and are more than happy to talk to him and do all they can to make him comfortable.

Clean, efficient, welcoming, very friendly staff, very caring staff, and absolutely brilliant care home.

The introduction to life in the home for my aunt was very smooth and comfortable, made so by extremely friendly and competent staff. I was very impressed by how observant the staff have been concerning my aunts characteristics and needs.

Later on when at End of Life Stage the palliative care and attention was first class not only for her but by all the family. I have never come across such caring and superb staff, all of which went above and beyond their medical and caring duties to look after my mum and us at this very difficult time.

Despite being immobile and incontinent he is treated with dignity and respect and with care. The staff are always very friendly, helpful and informative and I would happily recommend Thorntree Mews to others.

My first went into Thorntree Mews nursing home in September 2018. The whole contact and experience with the home have been excellent. They made both my father as the resident and my mother and myself as relatives and carers very very welcome. The whole staff are just so friendly, cheerful and caring. The nursing care of my father has been wonderful and everything to do with his going into the home has been well organised and run so smoothly. The food is very good and mealtimes are now the highlight of my father's day. I cannot praise the manager and her staff highly enough and I look forward to a long and happy relationship with the home.

Mostly very happy with support provided. Staff are excellent and work hard to support residents. Food is plentiful and home is clean. My Father's room is a bit small. Many of the activities are very good but there are days when he Doesn't have any and I feel there should be activities he can participate in at least 5 days a week. The staff are lovely and interact with residents regularly and in a caring way but more attempt should be made to get residents to interact with each other.

My husband became resident at Thorntree Mews after having an operation for a fractured hip (he also has Parkinsons Disease and Vascular Dementia) the care and attention he has received from the dedicated Staff has been wonderful. My family and I feel we have been welcomed as part of a very caring family that make up the Staff at Thorntree Mews and we can leave him in their care with confidence that he is being well looked after.

The management and staff of Thorntree Mews have been super during the settling in of my Aunt. During her first few weeks, everyone has been very caring and all her requirements have been catered for. As a family, we have also been treated with respect and have been kept informed at all times.

My grandpa has been in Thorntree Mews for over 3 years and in this time has received amazing care. He is well cared for, has lovely staff who always interact with patients and relatives and it is a warm cosy environment to be in for him.

My father has had and is still receiving excellent care. All the staff are competent, hardworking and friendly. The respect and admiration my father gets is second to none and when I or my other relatives can't visit my dad, we are all 100% confident he is being looked after.
