My father was in Forthbank for two weeks respite, and from the minute we walked through the door, you could feel the lovely atmosphere. The staff were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. My father thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt.
Although the rooms are spotless, the place needs to be refurbished.

Would definitely recommend Forthbank.

My gran spent her last year in Forthbank Care Home. She was in the later stages of dementia.
Throughout her time there the staff were lovely, she had a room that was suitable for her generation, (not modern) but very clean, bedding was immaculate! And looked like it was cleaned daily, carpets were shampooed regularly. Food was amazing from what I saw and was great they encouraged all residents to sit at the dining tables together which is great for inclusion.
once my gran reached End of life the care she outstanding, so dignified! They went above and beyond!
We stayed there over her last 2/3 days/nights and they could not have looked after us any better, tea, coffee, biscuits and trays of sandwiches,

The nurse is an Angel! I cannot thank her enough for the love and care she gave to myself and my daughters and niece the night my gran passed, Brenda and Gail were so amazing that evening and myself and girls will never forget their kindness.

The staff at Forthbank Care Home are very caring and very approachable. Our mother passed away here on the 5th of July and we cannot thank them enough for the care and compassion shown to her and the family in her final days. It is at difficult times like this that you realise how caring the staff are. They are over worked and underpaid but still treat their residents with care, compassion and dignity. Thank you all!

My Father went into the Care Home at the beginning of February 2023. Staff very good at welcoming us as a family, and Dad settled in very well. I would say in short the Strength of the Care Home is Staff, approachable, friendly and looking after Dad very well. Only weakness is Care Home looks a bit tired, needing a refurbishment.

The facilities are okay but I would like to see more action for the residents, I know this is hard as some of the residents move more than others. Also, it would be helpful if there was a leaflet to say and show what colour uniform stands for e.g. nurse or carer as when I ask a member of staff a question about some things I get a wrong answer or it does not matter. I get a feeling of being very confused as to who does what.

This review relates to my father's 100th Birthday which he celebrated at Forthbank on 15th February 2023.

The team arranged for the family to have a quiet celebration in a small visiting room in the morning. We were supplied with tea and coffee. In the afternoon the team arranged a large tea party and invited 4 officers from the RAF, 2 representatives from the Royal British Legion and the Lord Lieutenant to come and present my father with various gifts and awards. Both rooms were fully decorated and the team had mad a tremendous effort to make this a very special day for my father and the family. It was a wonderful day made memorable by the fantastic and hard work of the team. The family is extremely grateful.

My father has been cared for in Forthbank for over two years. The home is very well run by an efficient and caring manager. She is held in high esteem by her staff and this outstanding leadership is the backbone of the home. The staff are polite, kind and very hardworking. They support the relatives as well as the residents. The food provided is well prepared and the home baking is excellent. The cleaning staff do a wonderful job with the tired, shabby run-down building. The activities are varied and thoughtful.

Thank you very much for the lovely comments about the care, staff and management at Forthbank; we will ensure this is passed on. I would like to confirm that we do have the plan to carry out a refresh of the environment this year.

Satisfied with the care my mum receives at Forhtbank but think they could do with more carers.

Thank you for providing feedback, and we are sorry that you do not feel there are enough carers. Dependency levels and staffing is regularly reviewed so that we are confident that we have enough on each shift, but we will further review this.

Both my father and mother have stayed and died at Forthbank Care Home. The care that they received whilst there was wonderful. Both were residents for more than five years. The love that they were shown by the staff showed us how much they were loved and treated as part of the Forthbank family.

We as a family can't thank the staff in Forthbank enough for the care of our dad. They treated him like family and he loved staying there till he sadly passed away. Their thoughts were only for us and making sure mum and us were ok on this sad day. We really couldn't have asked for better care for dad. Thank you doesn't seem enough.

My mum has been here for 2 years and I am very happy with the care provided. The staff are friendly, treat residents with respect and are always smiling. They have all been through a lot over the last year and it's good to get back in again. I have no issues at all with the home and they do keep me up to date on my Mum and hold regular reviews.

Dad has been in the home for over a year... initially, it was difficult for him to adjust but the staff were patient with him, now he sees it as his home. I'm happy with his care and with the staff, nothing is too much.

Dad can be a handful but they just take this in their stride. The staff are approachable and also understand the difficulties that family can have with their family member in a home. Whenever visiting was allowed during covid I visited every week outside, now I visit inside and feel safe, it's also lovely to hug my dad again after such a hard year. I would recommend Forthbank Care Home.

William Coats
William CoatsJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2026

I have worked in social care for nearly 20 years, gaining extensive experience across a variety of care settings and developing a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. As the Home Manager at Forthbank, I am passionate about leading a dedicated team that upholds the highest clinical and professional standards, while always putting the well-being of our residents at the heart of everything we do.

At Forthbank, we believe that care is not a "one-size-fits-all" service. We aim to provide a warm, secure, and stimulating environment where residents are supported to live their lives to the fullest. We aim to bridge the gap between clinical excellence and the comfort of home, ensuring that while the support is professional, Forthbank’s approach remains personal.

My approach to managing Forthbank is progressive and transparent, combining multi-disciplinary expertise with empathy and compassion. I strongly believe a care home should feel like a true home, not only for residents but for their families as well. I actively encourage relatives to be as much a part of the home as our residents, fostering an open, inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and involved. By building meaningful relationships and a warm, supportive culture, I aim to create a place where people feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for every day.
