At Forthbank Care Home, located in peaceful residential area of Kildean, Stirling, the team provides personalised nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

The welcoming home offers a choice of sitting and dining areas, for maximum comfort and areas for residents to partake in hobbies and interests. The lovely landscaped garden, which is looked after by some Residents, is a favourite location in which to relax or socialise with friends and family.

They made my mum's stay so comforting and secure. Also, making all her family feel happy knowing she was being so well cared for! A huge relief for us all!

My Father went into the Care Home at the beginning of February 2023. Staff very good at welcoming us as a family, and Dad settled in very well. I would say in short the Strength of the Care Home is Staff, approachable, friendly and looking after Dad very well. Only weakness is Care Home looks a bit
tired, needing a refurbishment.

The facilities are okay but I would like to see more action for the residents, I know this is hard as some of the residents move more than others. Also, it would be helpful if there was a leaflet to say and show what colour uniform stands for e.g. nurse or carer as when I ask a member of staff a question
about some things I get a wrong answer or it does not matter. I get a feeling of being very confused as to who does what.

This review relates to my father's 100th Birthday which he celebrated at Forthbank on 15th February 2023.
The team arranged for the family to have a quiet celebration in a small visiting room in the morning. We were supplied with tea and coffee. In the afternoon the team arranged a large tea party
and invited 4 officers from the RAF, 2 representatives from the Royal British Legion and the Lord Lieutenant to come and present my father with various gifts and awards. Both rooms were fully decorated and the team had mad a tremendous effort to make this a very special day for my father and the family. It was a wonderful day made memorable by the fantastic and hard work of the team. The family is extremely grateful.

My father has been cared for in Forthbank for over two years. The home is very well run by an efficient and caring manager. She is held in high esteem by her staff and this outstanding leadership is the backbone of the home. The staff are polite, kind and very hardworking. They support the relatives
as well as the residents. The food provided is well prepared and the home baking is excellent. The cleaning staff do a wonderful job with the tired, shabby run-down building. The activities are varied and thoughtful.

Both my father and mother have stayed and died at Forthbank Care Home. The care that they received whilst there was wonderful. Both were residents for more than five years. The love that they were shown by the staff showed us how much they were loved and treated as part of the Forthbank family.

Forthbank Care Home looked after dad for over three years. During this time the staff treated him with dignity and care and supported all his needs. We knew he was content and happy here, which was a great comfort to us.

We were delighted with the standard of care my mum received while she was a resident at Forthbank. The staff treated her with exemplary care and compassion at all times and we are especially grateful for the love and kindness showed to both my mum and ourselves while she was slipping away. We as a family can't thank the staff in Forthbank enough for the care of our dad. They treated him like family and he loved staying there till he sadly passed away. Their thoughts were only for us and making sure mum and us were ok on this sad day. We really couldn't have asked for better care for dad.

My mum has been here for 2 years and I am very happy with the care provided. The staff are friendly, treat residents with respect and are always smiling. They have all been through a lot over the last year and it's good to get back in again. I have no issues at all with the home and they do keep me

Dad has been in the home for over a year... initially, it was difficult for him to adjust but the staff were patient with him, now he sees it as his home. I'm happy with his care and with the staff, nothing is too much.
Dad can be a handful but they just take this in their stride. The staff are approachable
and also understand the difficulties that family can have with their family member in a home. Whenever visiting was allowed during covid I visited every week outside, now I visit inside and feel safe, it's also lovely to hug my dad again after such a hard year. I would recommend Forthbank Care Home.

This last year in lockdown has been very difficult with restrictions on visiting in care homes. My mum is a resident in Forthbank Care Home, however, the staff have worked so hard in caring for my mum who has dementia. This has given me peace of mind that she has been supported and cared for when my
family have been unable to visit.

Yvonne Graham

“I believe that kind care involves working in the best interests of the Residents in everything we do and in treating Residents and their families with the utmost dignity and respect.”


As a Registered Nurse and formerly a Care Assistant, Yvonne has gained many years’ experience in providing care and support for older people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Yvonne joined Forth Bank as Home Manager because she closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She uses her experience to motivate her team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby organisations and is always quick to welcome the local community to Forth Bank.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Yvonne remarked: “I enjoy
knowing that I am giving 100% to the Residents of Forth Bank as it enables me to take pride in what I do.”

Outside of work, Yvonne enjoys the thrill of the racetrack, whether its horse racing or watching her own greyhound compete.
