Canmore Lodge is a purpose-built care home situated in a quiet area on the fringe of Dunfermline. It is a single storey building designed to allow disabled access and is set in pleasant landscaped gardens. It is close to local facilities and has good local transport links.
                                                                                                                                                               
Canmore Lodge offers care and support to frail older people, people with physical disabilities and older people living with dementia, who are supported in a dedicated ‘Memory Lane’ community.

The home is designed so that each person the team care for feels completely supported in every aspect of their lives. First and foremost, the care and services they provide are delivered by trained professionals who are dedicated to looking after the health of each resident. The activities programme is tailored around particular interests and facilities are designed to enhance the lives of everyone living at the home. There is tasty and nutritious food that is prepared by a skilled team of chefs.

My mother moved into Canmore over a year ago - since then, I and my family have been deeply impressed by the care, support and dedicated attention my mother has received from the staff at Canmore. It is such an immense relief and comfort to know that Mum is so well cared for, loved and respected. I

My husband has been in Canmore Lodge for 6 months. I have been extremely impressed by the staff and management - they all work as a team. In December we celebrated 60 years of marriage. Canmore Lodge is a wonderful care home.
From the moment you enter you can feel the warm, welcoming vibes.
The layout is such that the residents are able to wander about quite freely, no stairs and plenty of comfy seats. There is always enough staff to ensure everyone feels secure and happy. The
staff know all the residents personally and are always willing to assist with any problem that may arise or just to have a laugh and a joke. Qualified nursing staff are on duty 24/7 and are all very professional.
The bedrooms are of a good size and the majority are ensuite.
There are different activities and entertainment every single day and residents are encouraged to join in. The gardens and lounge areas are well used, perfect places to sit and natter with your friends and relatives, whilst enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake!
I would highly recommend Canmore Lodge to anyone in need of extra care.

This is one of the best care homes I have been in. The manager is polite and compassionate, staff are great and nothing is an effort. When you ask for assistance, they are there right away. The home is to a very standard of cleanliness, rooms are nice and spacious, residents are treated with care and
dignity. I have and would continue to recommend this home, especially with this manager in place.

First impression on the first visit - very warm, welcoming, plenty of staff visible, very friendly. Through frequent visits, it is obvious that the staff, from top to bottom care on an individual basis. The renovations will only add to the quality of the home. Overall very impressed.

My grandmother has been in Canmore Lodge for over 2 years. Before she moved into Canmore, she refused to socialise out with the sheltered housing. Now she interacts with "friends" every day. Without all the team at Canmore, this would not have been possible.

Our family cannot speak highly enough with regards to the care and attention given to our mother. Anything that we ask for or to be done is always acknowledged with a smile and a very much can do attitude nothing is too much bother.
The staff ar Canmore Lodge are a credit to Barchester, recently our
mother has had to have assistance with meal times and care is always given to her. They are willing to go out of their way to ensure she enjoys what she is eating. Thank you.

The staff and attention my husband received in the three and a half years of his residence at the home was second to none, especially this last part of his life. The manager was outstanding in leading Canmore Lodge and my thanks go out to management, carers and all staff.

My husband is being looked after very well with all the staff. I have no complaints. When I come in to visit every day there is always a very warm welcome. The home seems to be very well run,m there is always someone to speak to if there is a problem, also if I need to get a cuddle.

My Dad, who has Lewy Body Dementia, ended up in Hospital for over 6 months before finally being placed at Canmore Lodge in January 2018. Within hours, they had him up walking and using the bathroom; things he hadn't been given assistance within Hospital. The change in him was remarkable immediately
and we are confident that he is treated with respect and dignity; I cannot fault the Nursing Staff or the Carers - nothing asked or requested is every too much trouble. I'm kept very up to date with anything that happens e.g. falls or Doctor reviews, etc. The environment is always calm and the Memory Lane staff really are just wonderful.

I have been with Canmore Lodge since 2011 when I joined the team as a Carer. I then went on to join the Admin team in 2016 as an Administrative Assistant before being promoted to Administrator in 2017. I now find myself as the General Manager which has been a great achievement.


I am passionate about the home and the team we have here at Canmore Lodge.

Hi, I am Sharon and I have worked within both the NHS and private sectors as a Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse and Deputy Manager. I moved to Strachan House in January 2017 as the Unit Nurse Manager and joined Canmore Lodge in July 2018 as Deputy Manager. My passion is dementia care and the Memory Lane unit within the home is an excellent environment to enhance the quality of care for those we support.
