There is an 'extended family feel' about the place.
On one occasion a resident became very distressed and a member of the support staff immediately comforted the individual had spent as long as was necessary to make sure that they started to feel better.
If I was unfortunate enough to require care support myself, I would not hesitate in applying to this Nursing Home.
I am well informed of any changes in mum and she is calm and well looked after although she sometimes looks as though she hasn't had her hair washed or brushed
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you always enjoy your visits and that you receive a warm welcome from the team. It is also great to know that you feel well informed about any changes in your mum's wellbeing and that she is calm, comfortable and...
My mother has been in Forth Bay Nursing Home for over a year. The building has a pleasant exterior appearance, and my mother's room is very comfortable. All staff members of every grade are very friendly. The carers and head nurses on Cramon Ward look after my mother really well and are genuinely affectionate towards her. Although bed bound my mother is well looked after and has a good quality of life. I visit mum almost every day. It's a pleasant experience all round.
Thank you for your feedback, and for taking the time to write us a review. Please don't hesitate to ask if there is ever anything more we can do to support your mother, or you. We'll do our best to accommodate.
My husband has been very well looked after, the few weeks he has been here. I was disappointed about the activities.
Thank you for your feedback. We're really pleased to hear that your husband has been well cared for during his time at Forth Bay. We appreciate your comments regarding activities and will share this with the team as we're always looking for ways to improve the experience for our residents.
From the first point of communication the staff made us feel very welcome and a part of the care home "family". I could not have wished for a better care home for my dad. It gives me a great sense of comfort that in my dads stage of life he is in the best place possible. I would like to give my heart felt thanks to all of the staff for all they do for us. My dad is looked after and its evident all the staff care for the residents. You all deserve 5 stars.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're so glad to hear that you and your dad felt welcomed and supported right from the start. It's a real privilege to be trusted with his care, and knowing that you feel comforted and reassured means everything to our team. They put so much heart into what...
The main contribution point is that in the case of care workers, there is little continuity. If you wish to meet up with staff on a particular day, they were not there on the previous day. So, issues go unresolved. On the plus side, the food and menu is fine. The nurses are professional and attentive. The home is kept tidy. Excellent reception!
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with continuity in our team. We'd really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your concerns. Your insight will help us look into this further and explore how we can make improvements. We're...
My mother has been a resident at Forth Bay Nursing Home for almost three years. From the outset, when selecting Forth Bay, we were impressed by the care and attention of staff, and that has continued to this day. At all times, Mum has been treated with respect and incredible kindness and friendliness. This has extended into the local community, where she has been recognised and welcomed to local events. Despite Mum's age and limitations, the staff have all gone out of their way to make her feel included. They have frequently gone the extra mile "to make her feel at home"
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! We're so glad that you've been happy with Mum's care throughout her journey at Forth Bay. It's incredibly important to us that our home is a real community for our residents, and we're so lucky to have Mum as part of it! We're delighted to hear that she...
My partner has now been in as a resident for two month and she appears to be very settled. The staff are very attentive to my partner's needs and she is always treated with dignity and consideration. There is a very homely feel in the nursing home and everyone looks to be well looked after. Very interested to see future activities which hopefully my partner will engage in. Looking forward to the summer months to get out into the garden. All good.
Thank you so much for sharing your positive feedback. We're delighted to hear that your partner has settled in well and that you feel assured in the care provided by our team. It's wonderful to know that the homely atmosphere and respectful, considerate care are making a difference. We look forward...
This care home is fantastic. I am kept up to date with my parents' care. its amazing to see how happy they are and how they are always treated with dignity and respect; nothing is ever too much hassle, and all the staff are so pleasant.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means so much to us to hear how happy your parents are and that you feel well-informed about their care. Treating every individual with dignity and respect is at the heart of what we do, so it's wonderful to know that this shines through. Your lovely comments about our team will mean a great deal to them. thank you!
On behalf of the family I able to highlight the staff are brilliant professionals displaying the utmost attention to detail towards caring requirements. We always feel supported by staff and encouraged to engage ensuring any concerns are dealt promptly with compassionate approach and feedback.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We're delighted to hear how supported you and your family feel and to know that the team's professionalism and attention to detail have made such a positive impact. Ensuring families feel heard, involved, and reassured is so important to us. We really...
suitable to entertain them. There are times when I know my gran is well looked after depending on what team is on that day. Personal care and hygiene could be improved.
Feedback like yours is extremely important to us, as it does not align with the typically positive responses we receive. We understand that you have already spoken with our team, who have taken your concerns seriously and implemented improvements based on your feedback. If there is anything further we can do, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
Most of the carer are good, but some don't understand what your are saying. My husband cant walk or talk therefore there are no activities. No idea what the night shift do, but my husband chair is often dirty, can't clean it through the day as the only time he is out of it is bed time. The laundry is not the most hygienic sometimes smells and stained.
We pride ourselves on the resident experience and we are very sorry that you were unhappy with your husbands care. We take comments such as this extremely seriously as it does not reflect the typical positive feedback we receive. We understand that you have spoken with members of our team, and they...
Initially, we were made to feel very welcome when being shown around and despite the home maybe not being the most modern and looking a little tired, the most important thing, the care, turned out to be of the highest quality. The full-time staff could not do enough for my aunt and we were impressed with the reviews taking place regularly and being included. The caters, on the whole, were happy and attentive and only occasionally temporary staff appeared to be less interested. I was kept informed of any issues promptly and could see that actions agreed were being taken. Thanks to all - especially the lady on the reception and those on the ward. I know that she was happy staying at Forth Bay.
Thank you for your review, we're glad to hear that you're happy with the quality of care at Forth Bay. We're so sorry for your loss and we hope we made your Aunt's time at Forth Bay as enjoyable as possible. We also really appreciate your honest feedback as it enables our continuous improvement and your comments will be shared with our team.
My wife has been in Forth Bay Nursing Home for just short of two years. My first impressions were very positive. The management, admin staff, catering staff and most importantly, the carers and nurses were all friendly, welcoming and caring in their roles. The premises were smart and clean. This has largely continued to be the case over two years. One reservation concerns the time taken to remedy maintenance issues - in the case of my wife's room: drawers coming apart, curtains handing fixtures and broken safety cover on electric switch mounting. Another regards the turnover of care staff - this seems to have accelerated of late.
Thank you, Michael, for taking the time to leave us a review and for all your comments about our home and the care your wife has received. The care and services we deliver, as a team, to our residents and families are extremely important to us, all your comments and concerns have been shared with the team.
2) Getting entry when the desk is unmanned or at weekends and evenings, a keypad entry system is required as you can stand for 15 minutes.
3) Agency staff are not managed properly, perhaps lead shift nurses require management training.
4) Full-time staff cannot be faulted but sometimes seem to be short-staffed.
5) Full-time staff are very good and kind with the residents.
6_ Information on doctors or hospital appointments are not chased up, not good enough.
Thank you, Jack, for taking the time to leave us a review and for your feedback about our home and team. The care and services we deliver, as a team, to our residents and families are extremely important to us, all your comments have been shared with the team.
The staff at Forth Bay, from the cleaners to the management have to be highly praised. They are cheerful, very approachable, and never too busy to help. They have and are making my mother's stay quite enjoyable. The staff are very good at keeping me informed of any changes to meds or doctor/hospital visits. Forth Bay is a friendly, warm and comfortable nursing home, but made so by the care and dedication of the staff, for which I am so very grateful.
Thank you Frank for taking the time to leave us a review and for your lovely comments about our home and team at Forth Bay, we are pleased to read your mother is enjoying her stay and settling in. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
From the first day, I have been impressed by the way we were welcomed and encouraged. I have found the staff to be very aware of my relative's needs and they have grown to understand their ways very quickly. This has meant I am no longer stressed about safety concerns and that any need is quickly addressed. From the managers and unit staff to housekeeping and admin, I have nothing but the highest praise.
Thank you for your lovely comments. The care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families is extremely important to us. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
Brother has been a resident in the home for three years. Staff are very good and give him the best care you could ask for, for any relative.
Thank you for your lovely comments. The care and services we deliver as a team to our residents and families are extremely important to us. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
My son has been resident in Forth Bay since January 2020 and he is so well looked after. I am content that the way he is treated is so kind and constant. He is always clean and well dressed whenever I visit him. I don't have a regular day to visit as I am elderly and depend on someone driving me to Kincardine so its lovely to know he is genuinely well attended. I can only say I am happy he is in Forth bay with all the kind and lovely, hardworking staff.
Eleanor, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that your son is receiving such great care at Forth Bay. I will pass on your kind comments to the whole team.
1) Staff are very good and so patient.
2) Food excellent.
3) Gardens meticulously kept.
Possible improvements;
1) More activities/trips out - garden centre, local eateries.
2) External door entry - reception is often unmanned, leading to long wait times for visitors.
3) More 1-1's between care staff and residents.
Thank you for your positive feedback. Nothing is more important to us than providing the highest quality care to our residents and we always want to learn from the experiences of the people in our care as well as their loved ones. We have passed on your feedback to the team, and they will use your feedback to continue to improve the services we provide.

Meet the Team (1)

I joined Forth Bay as a newly qualified Staff Nurse in 2001 and have since taken on a number of senior roles, including Charge Nurse and Deputy Manager.
It is this in-depth knowledge of the home that has equipped me well as Home Manager.
I strive to give our residents the care and lifestyle they wish to have and endeavour to involve them in every aspect of their care.
As well as spending time with residents and making sure that they are comfortable, safe and happy, I see it as an important part of my role to act as a mentor to my team. I firmly believe that a happy, fulfilled and motivated team puts us in a better position to consistently deliver a high standard of care.
