Staff are lovely and very caring. Room is clean and comfortable.
Food is inconsistent. Fish and chips (Friday) and roast on Sunday are very good. Breakfast is good. Lunch tends to be soup which is good but other food can be very stodgy. No salafs. Stodgy pasta, lots of chips - unhealthy and often unappetising.
Activities are lacking - no regular, meaningful or stimulating activities aside from church service televised on Sundays. Weekly activities and singing would be appreciated.

Staff are lovely though!

No complaints. Can find no fault with any part of the home. Staff excellent. Part of the home is being rebuilt but has no effect on care.

Excellent care. Mum always well cared for. We regularly visit, even impromptu visits, and Mum always tidy, clean, well dressed, hair/nails done. Staff/management keep me informed and are approachable for questions. We have good rapport with staff.

Forth Bay Care Home in Kincardine is so clean, tidy and homely and staff are so caring and helpful. My cousin's room is well looked after and always clean and tidy. My cousin is clean and always in clean clothes and if she dirties them they are changed promptly. My cousin, even though she can't communicate, I can see she is happy and content.

Before my dad went into your home, I had nightmares about homes and said my parents would never go into one but your home is amazing from your very lovely staff. The way my dad and everyone is treated as an individual and with dignity. Dad is well looked after, well fed, has a bath whenever he likes. The home is beautiful and great for organising entertainment for their residents. The manager is so approachable and lovely to chat over everything regarding dad.

My mother, who is terminally ill, elected to come to Forth Bay Care Home for her end of life care upon discharge from a hospital.
Since arriving she has received first class care in every aspect of her palliative care from the extremely kind, caring and professional team of nurses and carers here at Forth Bay.
Her room is bright with nice decoration and is kept spotlessly clean.
The home, in general, has a happy and welcoming atmosphere.

There is nowhere else my family and I would rather have her as we move closer to her end of life.

My terminally ill mother was admitted to Forth Bay Nursing Home in May 2018.
She was immediately made welcome and treated with the utmost respect by all the staff, as were the family.
Her room was large, bright, cheery and spotlessly clean.
The staff were thorough, professional, friendly and helpful.
All the above culminated in making an extremely difficult, trying time, easier to handle.

My family and I could not fault Forth Bay Nursing Home.

I am very happy with the care my husband receives from all the staff. I feel my husband's care is very 'person-centred' for his needs. I am very grateful for how the staff have treated me. I cannot find any fault in any of my husband's care. I feel the staff have all got to know him very well and know his sense of humour.

There is no date in particular. Mum moved into Forth Bay in August 2016. Since the day mum walked in she has been happy. The staff are fantastic, the head nurse/sister is 1 in a million. She talks us through everything mum get up to/or has been up to.

My sis and I have also gotten to know residents and staff and mum gets taken to pubs for a sing-along. She goes out at Xmas for lunches etc. Lots I would recommend Forth Bay to anyone.

Fiona Day
Fiona DayJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2015

I joined Forth Bay as a newly qualified Staff Nurse in 2001 and have since taken on a number of senior roles, including Charge Nurse and Deputy Manager.

It is this in-depth knowledge of the home that has equipped me well as Home Manager.

I strive to give our residents the care and lifestyle they wish to have and endeavour to involve them in every aspect of their care.

As well as spending time with residents and making sure that they are comfortable, safe and happy, I see it as an important part of my role to act as a mentor to my team. I firmly believe that a happy, fulfilled and motivated team puts us in a better position to consistently deliver a high standard of care.
