Since transitioning from living on her own independently to having to seek care at Gowrie I couldn't think of a better place for my grandmother to have done so. Once settled in she has gained a new lease of life again returning to form as her feisty quick witted self. The staff are exceptional at what they do treating their residents with humility, and dignity. More importantly, they make sure to get to know each resident and have a good laugh with them and their families. They truly try to make it as comfortable and homely as possible. The facilities are excellent and the activities coordinators are second to none making sure the residents have a vast and varied itinerary of events lined up.

Mum was admitted for an initial six week assessment from hospital. She was made to feel very welcome by the staff who are all first class. The rooms and facilities are excellent and well maintained. The food is top notch and plenty of it. If there is nothing on the menu for fussy eaters they will go out of their way to make sure the needs are catered for.

Staff are very attentive and extremely caring and understanding. Mum feels very safe and secure there after a very confusing hospital stay. Her residency also gives us, as a family, peace of mind that she is being well looked after. Her stay has now been made permanent and we could not be happier.

There are plenty of activities for the residents on a daily basis which are conducted both internally and externally. These are very well organised. The Home has a lovely garden recently refurbished and upgraded which allows the residents and family to spend quality time in the sun.

Although my mum has only been cared for at Gowrie for a few months so far. I am very happy with the care and support she has been given. The manager and assistant manager always have the time to listen, the staff are so kind. Although its sad my mum can no longer live at home I feel that the Gowrie team are supporting her to feel relaxed and safe in her new home. I am totally satisfied that mum is a good place.

After 18 months of trying to care for my M-I-Law at home and numerous hospital admissions where we had to fight for care at home on discharge, my M-I-Law moved to Gowrie on 4 December last year. She is now settled and is being very well cared for. The staff are all so kind and really do go over and above, displaying good practice, professionalism and kindness. I would like to add that the management team are excellent, always open and inclusive to us as a family.

This was the best thing we did for our mum - after settling in she was a new person - her fun, humour and taking part in activities was brilliant. All the staff are so helpful, caring and will do anything for you - they also have a fantastic sense of humour which we totally enjoy. The rooms are spacious, always very clean and you can add any homely touches you want to make their stay as happy as possible. The activities provided are second to none - mentally stimulating, incorporates fitness made fun and encourages social interaction - whoever thinks all the many variety of activities should get many Gold Stars. I would certainly recommend Gowrie Care Home to anyone looking for a friendly, fun filled, caring place for their relative to stay.

When we were told both my inlaws will need 24/7 care we were advised to look at care homes, we looked at a few, Gowrie was our first and the one we went back to, as it felt homely, is clean, great atmosphere, the staff and management are all welcoming, friendly and always have a smile and speak to us. Love that there is always activities for the residence in the home they also get taken out. Sadly my mother-in-law passed while there but they looked after her so well and made her comfortable, my father-in-law is still there and they look after all his needs, he likes the meals there too.

It's like an extended family, good feeling.

My mother, I believe has had years added to her life due to the care, support, fun, laughter and company of staff my mother now has. Having dementai has not been made an issue. it has been addressed and dealt with, with love, care & support from the staff. People should all realise the pressure these angels are under and remembering everyones needs and all Gowrie staff do it all with love and compassion. We are forever thankful.

We as a family had no experience of care homes, so when our dad had to go to one we were obviously apprehensive and worried.

The care and consideration shown to our dad is amazing, the carers are dedicated genuine lovely girls. They are kind and caring and very professional. The carers take time to get to know there patients . They know how to deal with the level of dementia each patient has and treat them with dignity. We are so lucky to have found Gowrie nursing home. The facilities are great they have daily activities for residents trips to local areas and events. We feel my dad is safe well cared for and knowing this makes it less of a worry for our family.

Mum moved into Gowrie House in January this year. She settled immediately saying she was going to like it on the first day. All the staff are very friendly and compassionate towards her needs and feelings. We have personalised her room which she feels at home with. Food is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff at any time. The activities team are amazing and organise fun filled days and trips for the residents. Mum has said she is living her best life! She is thriving in this lovely home. For myself and my sister and our families this is a huge relief and weight off our shoulders knowing that mums needs are being met and that she is safe and looked after, but more importantly, she is happy.

My mum has settled well feels safe and well cared for.she hs great fondness for staf who have worked hard getting to know her and understand her care needs and emotional needs.Staff and management are always willing to help with any concerns raised. Care staff and activity staff have built her confidence with her mobility. she trust them and enjoys activities especially 1 to 1 and increasingly group activities. This has allowed us to be mother and daughter again and enjoy quality time, and she has always stories to tell of her day. I would happily recommend Gowrie House to other families. They have looked after both my parents.

A fantastic experience that made my friend very happy was the activity girl going around the rooms with a tea trolley and the ice-cream tune blaring, my friend says that the ice-cream van, go quickly, get a cone. There was ice cream, cones, sprinkles and a lot of genuine care went into surprising the residents, it's one of my friends and myselfs best memory, and how important it is to maintain familiarity and normality. All the staff from the top throughout every valued staff member are respectful and cares.

I have been a resident for 3/5 years. Overall most of the staff are lovely, very caring and kind. I was in a bad place mentally when I came and the staff took me under their wing and pulled me out. I have lost most of my family and the staff fill that empty space. When I was really ill and close to death, I was asked where I wanted my last days - another care home or here. I signed for here without a second thought. As I have said before the staff fill the place of my family. People come, even during their break time to spend time with me. I do not want to be here but if have to, better here than elsewhere. Some activities are planned to keep our mind occupied.

My mum has now been living in Gowrie House for just under 2 years. The care continues to be consistently excellent, with staff going above and beyond. Mum is cared for with genuine respect and affection, which is so important for her. The staff understand and responds to her needs. The living environment is lovely - the lounge in her unit has just been revamped to a high standard, and all the lounges are lovely. Meals are excellent, with menu changes. Diabetes is very well controlled and well catered for. Mum even had a special birthday cake made for her. Activities are excellent. We recently enjoyed a supported trip to the pantomime and have arranged a day trip to a marina (specific to mum) in the mobility car for next week. Staff and management continue to support family and friends throughout our difficult journey. I am grateful to them and highly recommend Gowrie House to anyone looking for a safe and caring home where their loved one will thrive.

My wife was in Gowrie House 26th June until she died on 26th August. The end-of-life nursing and care that attended, supported and cared for my wife was of the highest. On each and every one of my visits, I was impressed and reassured as staff nursed and cared as if my wife was one of their own family. For myself and others of our family, Gowrie House was simply the best with end-of-life.
