Overall, the staff do a great job. The food is good and my mum is happy. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Laundry is a difficult task due to the volume of items needing to be done daily. Sometimes it seems clothes are washed on a hot cycle as jerseys get out of shape easily. This is a minor thing.

I am seldom in the home during the week due to work so cannot comment on activities for the residents.

My sister enjoys being at Hamewith Lodge. She is happy and content all the time and loves the staff and gets on with other residents. She loves the entertainment, bingo and other activities.

I had to go to my care manager and the care commission in order to get my basic care needs met. Due to going through these procedures to get the care I pay for, certain staff nurses seem to see me as a troublemaker they need to sort out. The carers, in contrast, have been lovely - working very hard with often very low numbers of staff.

My mother was a resident up until the 18th February 2017 when she died. I have only praise for the way she was looked after.

My mum came to Hamewith Lodge Care Home only in mid-August 2016. Sadly she passed away on the 17th September 2016 after a long battle with cancer. But I just wanted to say the care my mum received was amazing. I was so scared about her going into a nursing home but the staff were so lovely and friendly. Had a very relaxed and homely feel and they made my mums last month as comfortable as possible. Want to say a huge thank you to all staff.

I think this is a great care home! All the staff are really friendly, helpful and always extra caring towards all residents and visitors. The inside of the care home is always decorated for special occasions through out the year, which I think is fantastic.

Overall Experience

My cousin has been in this home for 5 years. Her care and attention has been excellent. Her own personal hygiene and dress appearance is very good. Bedroom is lovely and wardrobe is very good. Staff, we know a few of them by name, are very caring and pleasant. Both my husband and I are very happy with everything that's being done for my cousin.
