Situated in the centre of Aberdeen, Hamewith Lodge Care Home offers personalised nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

Understanding that moving to a residential setting can be daunting, the team ensure that community is an integral part of life at Hamewith Lodge. Residents are supported to not only build relationships with their fellow residents, but also to integrate themselves in the local neighbourhood, ensuring they feel connected and at home.

Inside the home, Hamewith Lodge offers many comfortable communal areas for residents to relax and socialise with one another. The hairdressing salon, cinema and hobby room are used regularly by residents, whilst en-suite bedrooms offer a private haven to retreat to.

The lovely dining areas are the perfect place to enjoy meals created by the catering team, who pride themselves on making mealtimes a sociable and stimulating part of each day.

We have nothing but the highest praise for Hamewith for the care of our Mum when she needed it. Everyone working there has been wonderful, professional and caring, and quickly became Mum's Hamewith Family. Thank you, too, for the support given to us during this difficult time, and nothing was too much

The carers are always friendly and helpful. They have kept me up to date with Mum's progress and changing rules regarding visiting etc. Unfortunately, understandably due to Covid, there are not as many activities as we hoped but think this is starting to improve.

I have been visiting Hamewith Lodge in Aberdeen for more than seven years and always find it welcoming, the staff are excellent with the residents. Attentive, caring, even at this time with the coronavirus they are great, everyone helping each other, its team work. The home has a good atmosphere.

My dad has now been in Hamewith since 2015 and initially took a bit of time to settle in but the care from the staff has been excellent and their updates and video calls during the pandemic have helped my dad and myself immensely to keep in touch. They are always willing to adapt dad's care as necessary
and I can always talk to someone at the home if there is any problem or if I need a hand with anything concerning my dad.

I am really happy with all the staff at Hamewith Lodge. They are very friendly and always helpful. They have done a brilliant job throughout the year keeping all the residents safe from the virus. It’s been so hard for all the staff to keep the residents cheerful when they haven’t been able to see their
families. The care for each resident is second to none even before the pandemic. The communication is brilliant and we are never kept in the dark about anything. My sister is very happy about being there and loves everyone. And that’s what matters.

Quite hard to submit a review due to the lockdown restrictions as haven’t been able to see my grandad as much. Unfortunately, my grandad gets upset with video calls so we don’t receive any of them either and due to this, I haven’t been able to see my grandad for a couple of months. We have never seen
his room or inside the care home properly due to COVID so cannot comment on the cleanliness. The staff we have dealt with have been lovely.

My mother has been here for over a year now and my dad and sister and myself are so glad we chose Hamewith. Nothing is a problem they keep the family informed of any problems and over the last few months with COVID there were no cases which was excellent and we got to have video chats with mum which

My mother has been a resident at Hamewith Lodge for just over 2 years and I can honestly say that the level of care she receives is exemplary. She is treated as a member of an extended family and thrives there.
Even though her dementia is progressing, she is still encouraged to take part in the numerous
activities organised for residents. Her weight is good and maintained by the nutritious meal provided.
The most important thing for me and my family is that my mum is happy and thanks to the wonderful care she receives, she definitely is.
A huge thanks to the staff for the outstanding work they do.

Hamewith we chose for mum after looking at many, as it is bright; airy and exceptionally clean. Staff amazing and I know mum is safe; the staff never take any risks with residents and their care is paramount.
During pandemic to date, 15 June, home is 100% clear due to the decision making of management
and professionalism of the staff. The addition of an iPad gives me facetime any time I like, and I cannot thank you guys enough.
The staff here are a real credit to the organisation.

I usually visit my dad every day and was very distressed with the lockdown. However, the staff have been excellent! They have FaceTimed me and sent photos. Also, they take my dad to the window every day so I can wave to him. He had his 90th Birthday, and they made a real fuss over him. The chef made
him a birthday cake, and they had a party with banners, balloons and FaceTimed me while they sang Happy Birthday! He was smiling from ear to ear. The carers in there are fantastic as are the housekeeper's, nurses, handy person and all other staff. They have made sure my dad has lots of attention with him not seeing his family. I am so grateful to the staff for looking after my dad the way they are; giving me peace of mind in this very difficult time.

My auntie has been living here for a few years now. She is very happy and settled, she is well cared for and has a lovely room with an ensuite.
The home is very nice and always clean, all the staff are so lovely and friendly.
They have all been remarkable during this pandemic, and I feel assured

My sister and I visited Hamewith in April 2019, neither of us knew what we were looking for other than an environment that mum would be safe and cared for in the same way Dad did at home for Mum. By the time we left after our meeting, we had made the decision that Hamewith was the best place for Mum.
She moved in on 10/05/19 and instantly was made to feel welcome as we all were. We have always been reassured by the caring, friendly staff that she was in safe hands and encouraged to ask questions. Dad visits regularly, and the staff are so attentive to his needs as well as Mums and always make him very welcome, which comforts him greatly. He has had meals there with Mum which he has thoroughly enjoyed. Each and every member of the staff be it the manager, nursing, care, domestic are the most sensitive caring people we have met. The staff treat each resident as individuals and with great dignity as if they were part of their own family. We couldn’t ask for anything more for Mum.
