Absolutely love Angusfield Care Home. The staff couldn't be any kinder or friendlier. They are genuinely caring and compassionate, as is the manager. His door is always open if we need anything or just a chat. My dad has been at Angusfield for just over two years. He arrived pretty frail with a lot of medical needs. However, thanks to all the staff's patience he can now walk unaided safely, which he couldn't before. He no longer looks frail - he has put plenty of weight on. There's always something going on - the activities ladies are amazing. My dad even goes swimming! If you are looking for a care home which provides truly individualised care, then definitely have a look at Angusfield. I can't praise it enough.

I find Angusfield House clean. The staff are always busy and, if necessary happy to speak with me about my friend, who was determined to completely dislike the care home.

She would still like to be in her own home, which she expresses to the staff, but always finishes her statement with, "however I am very well looked after, and the staff are kind". Therefore, what I imagined to be a very difficult transition for my friend, due to the care she receives, she has managed to cope with her new environment and she has been a resident now for 18 months.

Angusfield is a fantastic home; they have been caring for my aunt for 4 years now. I am always impressed, when I visit, by the incredibly high standard of care. It always seems that nothing is too much trouble for them. They work hard to ensure residents are comfortable, happy and have plenty of interest to do. When I last visited, it was a lovely day and the staff brought all the residents, who wanted to do so, outside. This is a long process with elderly and frail people. No one was taken in a wheelchair if they didn’t need to, or want to; even though it takes much longer to assist people to walk. Then suncream was applied and lunch diverted so people could eat al fresco! Wonderful. Whenever I ask my aunt what she thinks of the home she has nothing but praise - so top marks!!

My mother has been a resident at Angusfield House (Benhope Unit) for around a three year period.
In this time, I feel my mother has always been treated with respect, as an individual and her needs are always met.
I feel I can approach staff and management at any time.

The carers are warm and friendly in manner and always show kindness and compassion towards my mum.

I am extremely glad my mother is a resident of Angusfield (Brighterkind). The staff and management are very professional, kind and caring. My family have noticed my mother's care has been first class with various entertainments and activities which not only cater to her physical needs but her emotional needs too. I would highly recommend Angusfield to others. Thank you.

On first visit to the home we found that the place was spotless and there was no smell. The staff were very approachable and polite.

Since then we find that the standard is just as good as when we first visited. All the staff are very obliging and really care for the residents. They go out of their way to make the residents comfortable and clean. We are delighted therefore with our choice of care home.

The manager and his team are absolutely excellent, very kind and caring.

However, I personally feel, after all the lovely and beautiful redecoration, the wallpaper in the lounge/dining area downstairs is very depressing and not in line with the upstairs lounge.

Overall Experience

Residing 150 miles in Glasgow coupled with infrequent visiting creates difficulties in keeping abreast of my cousins day to day wellbeing and requirements.

However, this is offset by the efforts of the Angusfield House Care Home staff who keep me fully up to date on any issues or problems arising. They also respond to my regular telephone calls with a detailed review of my cousin's condition.

As outlined in my responses, I am fully satisfied with all aspects of the home and the care which my mother receives.

After reviewing a number of care homes in Aberdeen and district, I chose Angusfield House because of the clear level of excellent care for residents which is obvious from the minute one crosses the threshold. Residents really are treated as if they are in their own home and carers and nursing staff treat everyone with a degree of love and patience, which is inspiring. My aunt is happy, stimulated by daily floristry and her preferences regarded and listened to. I am very satisfied with her care.
