The home is located in the seaside town of Stonehaven, where residents can enjoy local amenities, a railway station and the North Sea.

My father is very comfortable here, he loves the staff and seems to be settling in. He loves the food and as long as he is happy I am too. He can be a bit off somedays but he doesn't stay that way for long. The staff keep me informed on what is happening. If he has a fall or needs to see a doctor. As
long as I am updated I am happy, I know he has a habit of falling so it is not always possible to stop it happening. So as long as they let me know and keep him safe I will be happy to have him here.

My partner has early-onset Alzheimer’s. I had lots of concerns initially about him going into respite, Havencourt has put all my fears to rest. He absolutely loves his breaks there. He tells me how lovely the food is and all the people. I have witnessed for myself the warmth of welcome and care when
I take him along.
My partner's needs are not the easiest to deal with, however, Havencourt have gone above and beyond what I expected of them. They have gotten to know him and his likes and dislikes in a short space of time. The staff have supported him and accommodated his needs and requirements with positivity and a smile. I cannot thank them enough for what they do. Highly recommend.

Comfortable, clean and friendly care home. Mum has been a permanent resident for one year. Mum settled in very quickly with no issues. Staff are very helpful and friendly, always report issues when they occur. Would certainly recommend this care home.

It was lovely to be able to visit my mum again after not doing so for over a year due to the Covid pandemic. Covid testing and procedures around that were great. Staff were very accommodating. Communal areas and Mum's room smelt clean and fresh. Visit was great. Was lovely to hug Mum again. Big thanks
to all the staff who also successfully nursed Mum through Covid. Thankfully she has fully recovered.

My grandmother has been a resident at Havencourt for the past 4 years. As a close family who are used to visiting daily and having constant interaction and access to our loved one, the pandemic and closure of the home to the public has been extremely difficult. It has also been detrimental to my grandmother's
physical and mental health.
We have also had a few issues with my grandmother's care over the years which we have pursued formally. However, the care home has been under new management since late 2020 and since then we have witnessed significant improvements!
The new manager has tightened all policies and procedures, made very positive staff changes, updated many areas internally and changed the culture of the home.
It really is a needs-led environment for the residents now, and that is evident.
We are delighted with the changes and improvement in the home under new management and look forward to future developments.

Mum has been a resident at Havencourt Care Home for over 4 years. She has a nice room, along with the equipment required to meet Mum’s needs which is supplied and is in good order.
Naturally, there have been changes in staff but overall there doesn’t seem to be a big turnover, which is encouraging.
In fact, some staff have worked there for a number of years which I feel is beneficial, passing on their knowledge of the residents, adding to the caring environment.
I have always found staff to be courteous, kind, friendly and approachable; nothing appears to be too much bother, working hard to keep residents safe during this dreadful pandemic.
The personal communication is very much appreciated. The manager, nursing staff and senior carers are accessible for any queries or updates. Any issues we have identified have been dealt with.
The recently appointed manager brings stability and has already been making improvements. On a personal level, she has been very helpful and supportive.

I was extremely satisfied with the love and care afforded to my mother during her 4-year stay at Havencourt. The home is characterised by local and long serving staff, who became like members of an extended family.
Havencourt is small enough to retain a personal feeling. During mum’s stay, it was
completely redecorated and was maintained to very high standards. Meals were wholesome and varied, and served in a very pleasant dining room, to restaurant standards. We were delighted when the home bought an electric piano so that my mum could continue playing music. This entertained the other residents too.
At the end of mum’s stay, we were offered great support and understanding by the staff. I would thoroughly recommend Havencourt to anyone looking for a smaller, personal and friendly nursing home, where individuals matter and are cared for to a very high standard.

My mum is now very confused now but appears to be reasonably settled for mot of the time. I am unable to come up as often as I would like.
The staff are always letting us know how my mum is and how she has been.

Nice, clean, nicely decorated, nice rooms for clients. Warm, friendly staff. I have always enjoyed coming to see my daughter's father-in-law who I have known for 40 years. All the clients seem to be very well cared for and happy.

Excellent service from all staff. Food was good and had a variety on the menu. Laundry service was good. Activities were not good due to mixed clientele.

It is a well run and caring staff, excellent care. We went on holiday and our mum was looked after so well and spolit, nothing was too much trouble. We wouldn't have been able to relax on holiday if it hadn't been for Havencourt and such a lovely home. Mum felt it was like being on holiday in a top
notch hotel.
Grateful thanks to everyone and the care manager for helping us get her into it.

I feel that my husband is well looked after and is always neat and tidy and well fed. The staff always keep me informed of any changes in my husband.

We, my brother and I, including mum, were made very welcome from day one. Mum is very independent and will not ask for help when she requires it but staff are on hand to give assistance when needed. Mum has recently been diagnosed with dementia and can be confused at times. However, staff are understanding
and caring. The amount of food provided can be a bone of contention, some days being given sandwiches/crisps in place of a meal. Boredom is the main complaint, there are not enough outings due to there not being enough drivers.

In the final weeks of my father-in-law's care, the Havencourt staff could not have been better.


The care he received over the final 8 months of his life was considerate, patient and extremely caring.

Overall satisfied with the facilities within the home. Staff are attentive and conscientious.
Food is a frequent source of complaints, quality, variety, temperature and sometimes amount.
The bus belonging to the home rarely gets used, an issue around drivers is the reason we have heard, for over
a year. I think with some effort this could have been resolved.
Minor details regarding my mothers care get overlooked, like keeping her nails and hair maintained, this has to be requested. Running out of toiletries and not being informed.
