Overall Experience

Ashley Court continues to offer excellent care to mum who is 95 years young. The attitude of virtually all the staff we engage is positive, welcoming, friendly, professional and respectful. From the minute we arrive at the front reception we are greeted as friends by the staff we know and it is lovely to see smiling faces despite the increasing need and care requirements staff have to manage. We're impressed by the experienced staff we meet who demonstrate a very good understanding of mums care needs be it explaining her changing eating habits, her reducing capacity to verbally engage and even finding her hand comforter!!!! Off great reassurance is efforts to engage mum and a particular recent highlight was the activities team managed to take mum on an outing. This is no mean feat given her significant care needs and was last achieved 12+ month's ago. This has meant a lot to us.

Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Ashley Court

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is so pleasing to hear that you are so impressed with the care provided for your mum and that you feel so reassured. Great news too that your mum has recently been on an outing, giving you all a boost! Best wishes.

This is a good quality home with good quality care. The Manager, Carol, responds quickly to any small issue or concern very quickly and is not defensive. She always wants what is best for the resident and to meet family expectations (can't be an easy job!). I especially appreciated the Wheelchair Access vehicle and bus trips which kept my relative out and about for longer. I would have liked there to have been a better WiFi signal in rooms so my relative could have kept in touch with long distance family and friends via FaceTime. This wasn't possible due to poor signal.

Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Ashley Court

We really appreciate your comments and, in particular, are so pleased that you feel communication is strong, and the accessible transport is enjoyed. We believe the WiFi signal is being looked into. Many thanks and best wishes.

Mum's settled in well. Enjoying the activities, eating much better, and we can relax knowing she's so well looked after. The food is on a 2-week rota, and there's a choice each day. Her room is spotless, but she's usually found in the lounge each day or away at the activities. Loves the exercise to music classes, film afternoon, dominoes etc

Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Ashley Court

It is always pleasing to hear the peace of mind that families feel knowing that their loved one is being well cared for, enjoying the activities, food and facilities. Thank you so much for your feedback regarding your mum. It is great to know that she has settled well. Best wishes.

My good lady has been a resident in Ashley court for over 4 years
During that time; her care; attention and her comfort has been nothing but professional
Recently; my lovely girl has had a broken arm and ankle: plus a severe toe infection
Hospital visits and Home visits were arranged asap
Exrays; due to hospital visits were arranged
Then physios were involved
Her toe infection was diagnosed by the local GP
New dressings were applied every few days
The management were involved and witnessed change of dressings

I can only commend the management and staff for their very professional care and attention to the needs of my lovely lady

My aunt is happy and content living in Ashley Court and is very well looked after.
All the staff are extremely helpful, friendly and polite.
Ashley Court is homely unlike other care homes the family visited before deciding that it would be the most suitable for my aunt.

I have no hesitation in recommending Ashley Court as an excellent nursing home. Our lovely wee mum and dad moved there in early 2020. Since then we have been constantly impressed by the extraordinary care that our parents have received. The staff are amazing. Constantly kind, caring, hard working, committed, compassionate, highly motivated, professional and so warm and welcoming. They are the gems in the crown of Ashley Court. They make real the culture of care that Carol, Fiona and Lorna work so hard to ensure. Our lovely wee mum recently passed from this life to the next. Her last days were made so very special by the whole team who not only provided the perfect care for mum but also amazing support to us. Mum loved them so much and we all saw how deeply they loved her. We know they will continue to care for our lovely wee Dad with the same dignity, thoughtfulness, respect and love. And we know that we will always feel at home in Ashley Court.

Viewed several other care homes but knew on 1st visit to Ashley Court it was "the one". From 1st step in the door it was clear it was a very friendly, clean and well run home. My mother-in-law was a bit unsure to start but within 8 weeks she's different person - eating well, taking medication, putting on weight and much calmer/ happier. She enjoys joining in the activities and she loved the visit from the miniature ponies.

Very happy with everything.

My mum arrived at Ashley Court some months ago, and I guess like many families I had some reservations about my mum being in a care home. I needn't have worried!

The family have been delighted with all aspects of Ashley Court. In particular, the management and staff. The care and attention has been excellent. The home is spotless and a credit to all that work there. My mum has improved significantly. She is being really well looked after, eating well and has met many friends as a result of the activities. I couldn't recommend Ashley Court high enough.

This is a home where the staff have worked as a team for over 20 years to create a positive, welcoming environment. The reception, activity team and carers are all extremely friendly and dedicated. I notice staff staying on after their shift to chat to residents, which really exemplifies the care provided. My mother feels very safe and happy, although with dementia, she does not know why. I would recommend this home to anybody. There are many activities, and I find it hard to get a slot to see my mum.
