This care home is always welcoming. The staff are most pleasant and go out of their way to ensure residents are well cared for. They have a great variety of activities to stimulate the residents, something different each day. Relatives and friends are kept informed of any changes and queries are answered quickly.

Very happy with the level of care provided to one of my parents since admission to Etive House in June 2023.
The staff are all very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
I am kept very well informed and up to date with all issues affecting my father's care. My father seems to have settled in well and is very happy at Etive House and has never complained about any aspect of his care.

I am very impressed with the food provided to residents.

Sadly my mother passed away the other day, sad though in all honesty, a blessing in disguise, as she was not well.
I'd just like to put on record how well she was cared for at Etive House and especially mention three members of staff in particular.

Thank you for making my mum's last days as comfortable as possible and exhibiting the care that you did.

On behalf of myself and my family, I wish to thank Etive Care Home for the wonderful care our mother received during her time living in as part of the Etive family.
Our mother felt safe, cared for and content at Etive. She kept her dignity and her privacy, two things that were very important to her.
The caregivers and the team of medical nurses who looked after our mother were just amazing. The care and attention she received was over and above anything we could have hoped for. The food was always beautifully presented and delicious.

All in all, we are so fortunate that our mother got to spend this time at Etive and would commend this Care Home to anyone.

I am sorry to post this review. My mum is nearly 95 and has found her way here. I live 500 miles away, but try to telephone most days. I have visited mum and met the staff. The home appears clean and the staff friendly.

My complaint is the refusal by a senior staff member to tell me how my mum is. How callous can you get?

My mother has been cared for in Etive House since April 2022 and the family cannot thank the staff enough for all their kindness, attention, care and banter.
It's comforting to know that she is safe, warm and well-fed.

My mother's care is exemplary. She is very happy and comfortable. She is very fond of the staff, and they are very attentive. My mother regularly comments on how good the food is.
With regard to her well-being, her weight and eating are being regularly monitored. In the event of a medical condition, action is swift.
Communications are excellent, with regular updates provided in the event of a medical condition.
Visiting is a delight, and it is clear that the staff like her, which makes for my own feeling and satisfaction that she is being well cared for.
My mother is deaf and blind makes caring more problematic, but it is dealt with well. Hence I have not rated Activities.

I have only one criticism, and that refers to my mother's three pairs of shoes being rendered unfit for wear due to them having been washed. Despite assurances that they would be replaced, we are still waiting!

From the outset, the care and professionalism at Etive House have been second to none. Wonderfully warm staff and efficient service, lovely food and clean surroundings make for real peace of mind for us friends or families of residents. I was very struck by the tactile approach of the staff, showing warmth, love and care to my friend and other service users. The residents are so well looked after and are treated with respect and as individuals, not just numbers. The residents are not rushed if they suddenly feel the need to sing a song mid-way through some hands-on care or as they are helped to dinner, and some of the staff may even join in!

I am so grateful that Etive House is in our area, as I can visit my friend and know that when I have to leave, she will be cared for and be having a rather good time. Well done to all staff and management at Etive House. You should be very proud.

My mum became a resident at Etive House in January 2022, when restrictions due to Covid were still alive and kicking. From the outset, my husband, my daughter and I sensed a great spirit within the home. The staff, led by the lovely manager, made sure that my previously extremely independent mum was supported through the weeks and months, till she settled into this new way of life. The staff are all experienced in dealing with dementia and show great understanding in this area. Physical needs are also dealt with efficiently. They appear to have a great relationship with the practice. My mum has had GP input on a number of occasions and there are regular visits from district nurses. Recently, two carers took my mum to a very special event which was so important to her. Our whole family was touched by this level of care and attention. Food is excellent, rooms are comfortable and we feel secure in the knowledge that my mum is well looked after at this time in her life.

My mother spent the last 4 years of her life at Etive House Care Home. The staff were excellent, extremely caring, and made my mum feel at home. This was very comforting for the family. The staff worked well as a team and were always motivated at work and this created a positive atmosphere. We cannot recommend Etive House Care Home enough, my father has been there for 18 months now and he is much happier there than he was at home. The staff are exceptional and treat my dad like a member of their own family, they go out of their way to make a happy day for the residents, making sure they are entertained and kept occupied. My dad loves the food and gets ample amounts of tea all day to which he loves and he has put on weight and he is much more mobile. He enjoys everyone’s company when he walks about all day with his personalised trolley the staff so kindly provided for him. The staff always keep you updated on anything we need to know and it’s never a bother to ask them anything anytime day or night. Etive House Care Home is a home from home and would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for family members to be in such safe caring hands.

Highly recommend Etive House. Fantastic staff, all so friendly and helpful who work together as a great team. Staff were so good to my aunt in the time she was there and gave her end-of-life palliative care. Staff were always caring and kind and always contacted me with updates. I felt my aunt was safe and well looked after, especially as I don't live nearby, so wasn't always easy to visit and also more difficult during covid. A big thank you to management and staff.

Well organised, well managed, and truly caring staff, all work together harmoniously, in this residential home, so that my father, and the other residents, have the best quality of life in their twilight years.
My dad, who has problems with his memory, was treated with respect and consideration for his wishes, and it was just as if he were a member of their family.
It was a joy to see his delight in getting a chance to garden again and for him to laugh with the carers as they shared a joke.

This was during the pandemic, with a lot of stress around for our family about Dad, and their care and communication with us as a family was excellent. I am so grateful for their help.
