Meet Our Manager!
Georgina has always been passionate about providing exceptional standards of care and started her career in Edinburgh as a Care Assistant, before qualifying as a Registered Nurse.
Having taken up the post over four years ago, Georgina finds her role as Manager at Etive House very rewarding – particularly seeing first-hand the impact of the positive changes her team make to the lives of residents within the home every day.
Working with the team at Etive House, Georgina has been able to revitalise the home and improve its Care Inspectorate grades whilst striving to change the culture to become even more inclusive and friendly
Georgina says:
“I feel a huge sense of warmth and accomplishment knowing that my actions and that of my team have such a positive outcome for the people in our care. I enjoy seeing my team develop and the benefits this brings to our residents and their families.
“Making Etive House feel like a special place to live and maintaining a warm, friendly and family atmosphere is a top priority for us. Mhairi began working in care in 1989 and was a day centre coordinator for Age Concern in Northern Ireland. When Mhairi moved back to Scotland in 2009, she began working at Etive House. Having initially applied for a post as a Senior Carer, she was encouraged to apply for the role of Unit Manager, and eventually, when the opportunity arose for a position within the home as Deputy Manager, Mhairi tentatively applied and was delighted to be the successful candidate. Mhairi has loved seeing how the home has progressed over the years and being an integral part of it. She also enjoys working closely with the residents and the care team, spending time with them, and having the opportunity to take on new ideas and suggestions to make the home the best it can possibly be for its staff and residents.
Morag has been with the service for around 15 years as a Senior Care Assistant. Morag brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the senior staff team. Morag delivers the highest care and always goes above and beyond for the home and the residents. Morag is a huge support to her colleagues and remains passionate about delivering person-centred care.
Arfon has worked at Etive House since March 2015 starting as a Care Assistant before applying to become a Senior Carer. Since then, Arfon has also developed a passion for training development and gained his moving and handling training certificate enabling him to support others within the team as the home’s Training and Development Coordinator. Arfon absolutely loves his job at Etive House as the residents and staff team feel like one big family and the team are focused on caring for residents to a high standard, going above and beyond to make sure they live happy lives.
Michelle started her career as a care assistant in Etive House and has progressed to senior care assistant and is now the IPC Champion for the service, providing outstanding support, staff training and care through the most intense periods of the Covid outbreak and continuing to ensure we are compliant, and our staff feel supported and well trained. Michelle consistently goes above and beyond for the home and the residents.
Riya previously worked as a registered nurse for ten years and is now working with us as a Senior Care Assistant. Riya is enjoying making a difference to the lives of the residents at Etive House Care Home.
Lynn has been with the home for over a year and a half as a Care Assistant. Lynn always goes over and above for her residents and is a wonderful ambassador for all of the home’s core values.
Lorna Stevenson is the Head housekeeper here at Etive House and has previously worked in the hospitality sector for 26 years, starting as a housekeeper assistant and lastly Executive Housekeeper within a 4/5 star environment. Having worked in both residential and nursing homes in Glasgow as a Care Assistant which she greatly enjoyed, she was delighted when this position came up as she would be able to successfully combine her two passions – cleaning and caring for the elderly. Lorna loves that at Etive House there is fun, laughter and hope. She is excited for the future of the ever-progressive care home and how the team can surpass all previous achievements with motivation and enthusiasm.
Tattiana has joined us as a Care Assistant, having 5 years of previous experience in the role. Tattiana is finding Etive House Care Home to be very loving and caring, and the team very helpful.
