The Review Score of 6.7 (maximum of 10) for Stobhill Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 3.3 out of 5 from 3 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Stobhill Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 3.257 for Stobhill Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (6 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 3.257
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 3.417 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stobhill Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 = 3.25
Target of 12 positive Reviews (60 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 2 Reviews ÷ 12 Target = 0.167

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Margaret P (Daughter of Resident) on Monday 21 May 2018. Relates to May 2018.
I visited several care homes before Stobhill Care Home and will be honest, gave the home a hard time when Mum moved in. I think because of my guilt for placing my mother in a home. They never made me feel bad but actually helped me through the process of placing Mum in a care home and supported me, along with my mother.
Several months later I could not be happier with the care she receives. I will be honest I had a problem with the room when she moved and within less than 24 hours it was resolved. You cannot ask for better than that.
I find the nursing care and the people who take care of her beyond anything I could have asked for. They treat her along with others in the home like their own family. Talk to them, joke with them and if they are down, spend time with them to find out if they can help. They treat the people resident like their own family. The staff make the home, no doubt about that.
Would highly recommend this home.

The home is situated in a nice place, you can see the campsites from a distance.
The only thing I would say is the lack of activities within the home for residents. I know it's difficult to get them to be motivated and into certain things but a wee film day with old classics would get the ball rolling.
The care the residents receive is on a not bad scale, again, I know they are busy but one-day last weekend my gran was needing the loo and we were told to wait as another resident was getting bathed. I was not happy as it would have taken 5 mins to sort my gran out she was very upset and agitated was not happy about this at all, but other than that the home is clean and the rooms are spacious the protection of meal times is a good idea as it lets resident eat and not have any distractions all in all my family have no complaints.

Review submitted from a Website Submission by G R (Friend of Resident) on Tuesday 13 June 2017. Relates to June 2017.
Ideally located care home but very poorly managed. Staff are not very attentive and not always available to assist residents. Communication is poor and non-consistent. The car park is small and always full. It has around a dozen spaces and it doesn't help that the staff also use the same car park. I would not recommend this care home.
