My Mum moved to Whitefield Lodge within the last few weeks, during Covid-19. She went there from another care home she had been in for 9 weeks (a receiving assessment unit) following discharge from hospital. She was in isolation in her previous care home and had a negative test result before moving
and went into a further 14-day isolation at Whitefield. This gave us as a family confidence that they were doing everything possible to keep Whitefield residents safe.
Whitefield Lodge came highly recommended from friends that had previously had relatives living there and as we were unable to visit care homes during Covid-19 it was a relief when a bed became available there. I cannot fault Whitefield Lodge at all. The staff have been excellent. They are professional, friendly and always happy to update me. The WhatsApp calls have been great as I can speak with mum and get a sense of how she is settling in. The drive through slot was great as we got to see how happy and settled she is.

As we are almost sixty years married, my wife is most precious to me and only the best is good enough for her and I am delighted to have found this in Whitefield Lodge. Over the past five years, I have visited her almost every day and the care and attention that she receives 24/7 is first class, from
a caring and friendly staff in a "family" atmosphere who are indeed a credit to Four Seasons.

Whitefield Lodge Care Home is the epitome of care, in my experience the staff (from every level) is thoroughly professional, always putting the residents at the forefront and never make the families/visitors feel on the edges. The ethos equals quality, friendliness, hard work, where everyone matters.

This home provides an extremely high standard of care. The staff are very kind and caring and nothing is too much bother. Mum can be challenging at times and the staff are extremely knowledgeable on how to deal with any issues. They have regular activities and mum has been for a few outings with the
staff which she really enjoys. Overall, I cannot recommend this home highly enough.

Our mother has lived at Whitefield Lodge for over a year and throughout she has received an excellent standard of care. The care staff are very kind, attentive and helpful. The management team are always approachable and appear positive both in their outlook and their aim of maintaining high standards
in the home's environment and day-to-day running. The nursing staff are professional and efficient in their work. We particularly appreciated their time and support recently in keeping us informed about our mother's state of health during a difficult period for her and discussing the most beneficial treatment. Overall, we feel there is a genuinely warm and friendly atmosphere at Whitefield Lodge, where both residents and their relatives matter.

My wife of 58 years has been a resident for over three years with dementia and I have nothing but praise for the care and attention she receives in a clean, friendly and family-like atmosphere. I visit my wife every day and on leaving can return to my car and drive away in complete confidence that she
is safe and content.

Current Review Score: 8.0 (7.959)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (7.959) out of 10 for Whitefield Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Whitefield Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (17 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.292 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Whitefield Lodge Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.167
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
