Since my aunt went into silver mews she has settled so well.
The staff have become members of her family. They are so kind and thoughtful.

The family could not have wished for more and are so grateful.

Walked in the place greeted by staff member who asked if she could help I asked if I could possibly have a look around as I was thinking about a family member looking for a care home.
I asked a lot of questions as it's very important for my relative.
Residents were eating the lunch which looked lovely & anyone seamed to enjoy the meal as plenty of empty plates.
The care home was spotless I was shown everywhere looked at the empty rooms.
I met the manager who was very nice, the administrator left me for a second to open the door for church ladies which come on a regular basis they spoke to me & said they would love to meet my aunt.
I have now arranged for my relative to be a resident there the staff all spoke to myself I'm one happy lady.

Thank you

Excellent and professional care always shown to myself and my mother. Staff treat mam as an individual and encourage her personality. Her everyday care is always met with a caring attitude. Staff are always approachable and keep us informed of my mothers daily routine.

My mam has recently moved into The Grange and as this is a big change for her, we had some doubts over how well she would settle into her new environment. Any doubts we had were quickly put to rest as due to the kind and welcoming staff and the fantastic care she has received since her arrival, she has not only settled incredibly well but is thriving and making some lovely new friends amongst staff and residents. Thank you to all at the Grange for making this transition as easy and comfortable as possible for not only my mam but for us as a family as well.

Whenever I have visited my great aunt, the staff have been really helpful and friendly. It's taken a huge strain off the family knowing that she's been looked after so well. She's even getting involved in the activities and was doing chair yoga the other day. She looks the healthiest she has been in years!

My Aunty needed to go into respite care for a short while and everyone who we came into contact with during her stay was very kind and helpful. My Aunty has a slight touch of dementia but the care team including the guy who seemed to be able to fix anything was so friendly towards her which made her short stay welcome. Her husband could visit after his short stay in hospital and again nothing was too much trouble when he was there he particularly enjoyed his cake

The home has been caring for my father for 6 months snd I can't praise the staff high enough. As well as providing excellent care for him, they have lots of activities to keep them active. My father has dementia and they have shown him nothing but kindness even when he might be a little difficult.

What a welcoming place. The staff are so friendly, caring and always greet us with a smile. Whenever I visit the care home it's always spotlessly clean. It makes a change to enter a care home where it doesn't smell and run down.

Continue doing a great job, your efforts don't go a miss

My father has been a resident here for around 18 months. Overall, I am satisfied with the care he receives, and he appears comfortable and well looked after when I visit. The manager is approachable, responsive and helpful, and concerns raised by family members are taken seriously. For example, my father is profoundly deaf, and there was a period when his hearing aids were frequently missing or not being worn. After discussions with management, we addressed this issue. On recent visits, he has consistently had his hearing aids in place, which has made a significant difference to his quality of life. Staff turnover appears relatively high, although several long serving members of staff provide valuable continuity and know residents well. Occasionally my father's clothing is marked by food or drink spills but this is undestandable given the challenges of caring for elderly residents. The commual areas have recently been refurbished and are much improved. Residents benefit from activities such as visiting animals, singing sessions and occasional outtings. There is also a pleasant garden area which residents can enjoy in good weather. Overall, I appreciate the care and support provided and would like to thank the staff for their efforts.

As it was my first experience of Stuart being in care. I didn't know what to expect from the levels of care. I had expected that Stuart's regime of walking with his rollater whenever possible would be maintained but obviously this didn't happen as proved by his weakened mobility once home. However, I was impressed with the kindness and care shown to Stuart and the willingness of the staff to listen to helpful information regarding Stuart's needs. I would be more than happy to have him return to Silver Mews for respite care if available.

I feel there are several areas that need urgent attention. Some staff members are kind and try their best, there are far too many delays in responding to residents' needs, which can cause resident and relative distress. The sickness and turnover of staff has caused inconsistent care on many occasions, also activities for bedbound residents are limited, leaving many without meaningful engagement during the day. Communication with families could also be improved, as updates are often unclear or delayed e.g. recent CQC Rating. Regrettably in the last 18 months I understand many complaints have had to be taken out by as relatives and residents trust has been eroded by management team, as they have not always delivered timely meaningful results to many safeguarding and internal issues. On a positive note the outside garden is a pleasant space and the internal decor is very pleasant.

Thank you for your response - we would like to respond as below
The Care industry is well known for having high sickness and turnover of staff and we can confirm that our turnover of staff is actually below the national level of 34.4%

We can confirm that we have two activities persons and one to one sessions are held with those residents that wish to engage with social activities

My mam has moved out from Silvermews after 3 years with the last 18 months consisting of constant issues and multiple safeguarding issues regarding missed prescribed medications, poor care and certain staff members poor attitude. The difference at the new care home is incredible and mam is engaging in meals and activities again within 24 hours. Food is very poor at Silvermews and generally cold most of the time and with no real variety. If you just want transactional care, medicating, toileting and feeding then use Silvermews. If you want real love, care and attention to detail look at other Care homes as they is far far better out there. Our family now feel relaxed and content that Mam is now getting the care and attention she needs.

Well, where do I begin following on from my previous review it just gets worse. After raising multiple complaints regarding poor care and inadequate practice and poor behaviour in line with the home's complaints procedures I was served with a 28 day notice for my 86 year old mother who was in their so called care home for nearly 3 years. The notice was served by a quick phone call and a follow up email. No formal meeting was arranged to discuss the situation. The appalling management and upper management should be ashamed of how they supposedly run the home on a shoestring budget. Poor food which is often inedible and cold but is never acted on or improved and this has been apparent for nearly 2 years. Poor attitude of staff with personal opinions and oversharing information about themselves and other residents is utterly appalling. However I am pleased to say my loved one is moving to a much better place with a good rating not a needs improvement in practically all areas.
