Kirknowe Care Home, situated in the peaceful community of Wishaw, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

Kirknowe has recently undergone a refurbishment which has enhanced communal areas to enhance the daily life of every Resident and support the mind, body and soul. The onsite hair salon, café and hobby room are great places for residents to relax and pursue hobbies and interests.

The catering team at Kirknowe understands the nutritional needs of older people and creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors. The wide range of popular dining areas provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

The dedicated and professional care team at Kirknowe likes to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting those living in the home to enjoy the things they love most. In the short time my dad lived at Kirknowe Care Home, Kirkfieldbank House, we have as a family been very happy with the care given. All the staff, whatever their role, showed him compassionate personal care. They worked tirelessly and tried to suit his needs as much as they could from changing mattresses
to his dietary needs. The home itself is a very welcoming place and the grounds are well looked after. The way he was looked after lifted a great weight off our shoulders. So thank you all.

Every time I visit my dad I am welcomed in and the staff cannot do enough for me or my dad. I discussed this review with my dad and he rated the options below. The staff treat my dad with dignity and respect and do not rush him even though his mobility is bad. The staff are also very friendly. They
also engage the residents in singing and dancing so there is always a happy atmosphere.

The overall facility is excellent, from the staff in the office to all staff within the Kirkfield Unit. The decor, rooms and activities provided exceeded the expectations when my mother arrived. Her personal care has improved 100%, and her health also. I can say I cannot fault the care home in any way.

My Mum had been in the Hazelbank unit of Kirknowe for 6 years. I cannot express my gratitude for all the staff that has cared for her over the years. Hazelbank was her home and the staff were her family.
I will be forever grateful for the love and care they gave to her. The dignity they gave to her,
especially in her final days.
I will miss them all and I would not hesitate in recommending this care home.
And if my Mum was still here she would say exactly the same.

My mum, resided here for just over a year, the staff are caring, kind and just amazing in the Kirkfield Bank bungalow, always willing to go that extra mile for anyone. Our family cannot praise or thank them enough for all they did for Mum. From keeping her days active to giving her the ability to walk
again, and use the toilet again, all things that the hospital had taken from her along with her dignity. Please let the staff from management to cleaners know how much we appreciated them. A carer is a very understated and underpaid role for these angels who deserve so much more. Especially one lady, my mum's football buddy, or night shift who brought their dogs in on days off to see her.
We appreciate each and every one of you, thank you all so much.
We will never forget the peace of mind you all gave her family.

My dad moved into Kirknowe Care Home in October last year and we were very apprehensive as a family about how he well he would settle. We needn't have worried as the staff have been nothing short of wonderful and managed to connect with my dad straight away. He is safe and happy, even when he is having
a grumpy day the staff are brilliant with him. They are kind, compassionate and they all have a great sense of humour, which goes a long way in making my dad feel at home. We really are so grateful as a family for the care shown to my Dad from everyone at Kirknowe and we wouldn't be without them.

My mum has been a resident in the Kirknowe Care Home since December 2020 when she was admitted at the height of Covid restrictions. She was very confused especially as she had to isolate and then wasn't allowed visitors. Thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the staff she eventually integrated
into the unit, and latterly, looked on it as home. Over her two years residency, any issues I raised were dealt with speedily. Sadly, Mum passed away on the 5th of January after going downhill quickly. The care she received in her final days was superb and allowed her to pass away with dignity and without hospitalisation. My family cannot speak highly enough of all the staff - not just the care staff although they were special - we are indebted to them.

The standard of care has been exceptionally good. The staff are diligent, hardworking, compassionate and mindful of all Dad's needs. The staff have also gone beyond the call of duty in terms of supporting the family at this difficult time. Thank you so much.

Mum moved into the care home earlier this year. In short, the wonderful staff have given her, her life back. She is the happiest she has been for many years. she is treated with respect and dignity. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The care she receives is second to none both physically and mentally.
The activities on offer are fantastic and mum really enjoys them. I myself find the staff approachable and informative.

My dad is a resident and the staff arranged a lovely day for him and my mum for their diamond wedding. They went above and beyond arranging flowers for my mum. A cake, their favourite song and decorated the visiting room. The staff are amazing, helpful and make the family feel part of home family. An
amazing, amazing nursing home which has brought my dad from a wheelchair to walking when he entered to now walking about all day. He is always clean, tidy and very well looked after.

I would like to thank the staff of Rosebank unit for the care and compassion they show to my mum. My mum has been in this unit for five years now and the staff have been great. Due to the current coronavirus situation and no visiting policy, on Mother’s Day, the girls were telephoning the families to
let us see our mums. It was a very nice gesture, then last week my dad got a photo of mum sent to him. Considering the current situation and the pressure the staff must be under, each and every one of them have gone above their call of duty. So thanks for all the care and support you all have shown to my mum and to us as a family.

The home provides a very high level of personal care to its residents. All of the staff are courteous to both visitors and residents and deal with matters in a kind and friendly manner. My mother has settled into her new home much more quickly than I anticipated and I believe this has a lot to do with
the way all of the staff care for her. Facilities are good and the home provides a level of interaction which is relevant to residents needs but is never forced upon them. The food standards are good with care taken to ensure the dignity of residents and their likes and dislikes taken into account.
Overall we are very happy with the choice of home we made but more importantly, my mother is content and looking better than she has for some time.

After a short respite period my mum went into Kirknowe permanently and can I just say the staff have been fantastic and have done everything to take away both her and family concerns. Mum moved to Kirknowe Care Home from hospital, I was extremely anxious and stressed around her having to go to a nursing home and she also wanted to go home. The staff were very helpful and helped me when mum was upset. Mum did settle after 3/4 weeks and the staff have been welcoming, friendly and professional
at all times when I've been in. I also liked that I could make mums room homely and bring in her own things. The staff are also proactive around any medical issues that arise and in my opinion extremely vigilant, staff also know patients well.

My mother stayed in Kirknowe House for almost 4 years. The staff were welcoming and caring throughout. Over the last 4 months Mum entered a terminal phase; at this point, the attention, care and consistency of treatment was first class. The staff were warm and welcoming to family and friends at all
hours of day and night. The staff cared for Mum with sensitivity and dignity. I appreciate all that they did very much.

My Dad is new to the home after transferring from the hospital after a brain injury. He is really unsettled but the staff have been very reassuring and really helpful. There have been minor issues for us as a family but staff deal with these quickly. I am hopeful ty Dad will settle here.

My wife has now been a resident at Kirknowe Care Home for over a year. I cannot express in words how much I am overwhelmed by this home. From the highest grade to the lowest member of staff and facilities, I am so grateful for what has and is being done for my wife. Not only has it helped with her health
and mental welfare, but it has also helped me by being so contented in all aspects of Kirknowe. I was on anti-depressants but now I have been weaned off them, all thanks to the staff, food, activities and care and support shown and given to my wife since being a resident. I would like to thank HC One for providing my wife with all the care and support that is given to her via all staff concerned int he home. Thank you.

The staff were caring, friendly and overworked. The entertainment coordinator was fantastic and went above and beyond her job wish everyone was like this lovely lady, for example, did our aunt's nails to perfection. Can't thank the staff enough. They are a credit to your company and I would highly recommend

I have been visiting my husband for the past six months. I find Kirkfield Bank House staff to be very kind and understanding, they look after my husband very well, giving him lots of laughs and fun. They work very hard.
