Southview is an excellent carehome. The staff are amazing, highly professional and totally committed to ensuring my brother reaches his full potential. Southview offers a wide range of activities and the staff have taken the time to cater to my brother's particular interests including taking him to
football matches and concerts. Staff are so friendly, kind, courteous, sympathetic and humorous. My brother has been treated with dignity and respect from day one. The level of care and genuine interest in the complete wellbeing of all residents is outstanding. The meals and accommodation are of a high standard. The staff are very approachable and especially in this covid-19 crisis, are in constant touch with regular updates. They have done an excellent job in implementing the necessary safety measures, maintaining standards and keeping spirits up. I cannot thank or praise the staff enough and I know he is safe and happy under their care.

Overall, I find all staff fabulous and hard-working and kind, also on the ball if anything is wrong, they deal with it. There has never been any rows or arguments with them, they all work with each other in a good way. We the family, do not have any problems, I would, however, like more music and maybe
some entertainment now and then.

My Dad moved to Southview in 2016. Since then, I've never had any regrets/issues regarding his care. If I address any needs he has there they're excellent at providing immediate solutions. I find staff and management approachable, welcoming as member of his family, to ensure his needs are met. During
my Dad's transition, the caring staff have got to know him better and he's been given excellent care and attention, his needs are provided for. I've no doubts or concerns, in my absence that he is always being given the best quality of care. As his condition worsens they have gone above and beyond ensuring he bounces back with their continued support, maintaining what little independence he still has, sadly as he worsens. They are on the ball identifying and changes in his wellbeing. My Dad is in the best care home to meet his needs and always provided with excellent quality of care meeting his needs, treated with dignity, activities should he choose to, I have much confidence in Southview!

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.569)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.569) out of 10 for Southview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Southview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Southview Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.375
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
