Overall Experience
My mother became resident in WindyHall, run by Care Concern Group, in September 2025 until she sadly passed in January 2026. The care by the WindyHall team was faultless and exemplary.

Sadly, my experience has been utterly tarnished by their owners Care Concern Group being unwilling to refund or provide ANY update on the status of that refund, for deposit/overpayment during residence and overpayment at end of stay. The refund due to my late mother's estate is in excess of £15,000 (as calculated by them). It is now nearly July and I cannot get any tangible information or communication out of them. I now wish I had been aware of this before selecting this care home. Be warey when considering similarly.

Reply from Wendy Whiteford, Manager at Windyhall Care Home

It has been our pleasure to care for your mother and she is sadly missed by us all and our condolences again to you and your family and friends. Please do accept our sincere apologies for the delay and the challenges you have faced in gaining your refund from our parent company and I understand...

My mum has been a resident at Windyhall since March 2026. She has settled in well. The staff are very professional and kind to my mum. She already has a favourite, Nicole. The home is very clean. Nothing has been a problem, the staff do their utmost best to make sure my mum is comfortable and settled. They always ask us family, if we want anything to eat or drink.

This was my husband's first time in respite so I was a bit apprehensive. What a lovely welcome we got on arrival - lovely smiles and a great welcome. The care home is so comfortable and homely. He took part in many activities and loved the food, he actually gained 3 lbs while there for a week, and his dietician is delighted. He was asked to sum up his time there in one word and he said "Happiness" that says it all. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making his stay so perfect. He can't wait to come back again.

Windyhall care home is the home of each individual living there. Wonderful staff, food and environment.
From the moment we arrived we were met by friendly, professional and caring people, from the support workers catering staff, nurses and admin and management. My father thought the staff were fantastic and liked his room, the excellent food (his words). This truly is a place that provides a Home for those requiring support.

My family and I thank you.

My Dad had been a resident at WIndyhall for 3 years now. It's very much his home. He'll be 99 soon. I would like to congratulate the staff for taking such good care of him. He loves his breakfast and his cups of tea. I'm especially impressed with the outings that he has been on and all the entertainment and activities. Well done to all the caring and happy staff.

I can only say about the care staff who go that extra mile with helping the entertainments and the care and compassion they show and give to the residents. I would like whoever it is that decides what meals the residents have just to give a thought to the one's who don't have none or partial dentures when it comes to chewing their food.

Could not ask for better staff, all very caring towards residents. Activities on nearly every day, entertainment also very good. Also outings on regularly. The only negative I have is the price per month which I think is far too much. But that is no reflection on staff, they are all amazing. Mum is very happy living in Windyhall, she also loves all the staff.

We cannot speak too highly of Windyhall. When we visit we are always greeted with a smile and addressed by name. The home is furnished in a very homely style with an atmosphere to match. It is always spotless with no hint of any unpleasant odour and the housekeeping staff obviously work hard to maintain the standard. The food is 5 star quality both in preparation and presentation. The standard of care is excellent and we observe great interaction between all staff members and our brother-in-law who obviously feels safe and loved by all. We appreciate the care also shown to his wife who has become part of the Windyhall family. Many thanks to all.

I have only good things to say about Windyhall.
My mum always seems really content and happy every time we visit her. The staff know all the residents really well and are so caring.
If I pop to my mum's room it's always immaculate and smells lovely and fresh.
We knew from our first-ever enquiry visit that we wanted Mum to go to Windyhall, the initial atmosphere was just so lovely.

I never feel that I have to worry about Mum because I know she's in the best place.

I cannot speak highly enough of Windyhall Care Home. It has a lovely welcoming, homely feel. The staff treat the residents with so much care and compassion and the food, like the care, is of a really high standard. It's the small touches that matter. I noticed from very early on, the care staff all know our names and we are made to feel so welcome when we visit. I really appreciate that the staff all take time to have a conversation with us, which means we feel included.
