Excellent for my father extremely well looked after. Clean clothes, washed, shaved etc.

All the staff are friendly and keep me informed and are respectful to both fathers and families needs. Plenty of stimulation for residents. Today there was a Beetle Drive.

They look after my wife extremely well, they pick up when my wife complained about a pain in her leg. The doctor was called and drugs were administered. Because of the nursing staff, my wife is still alive and I am grateful.

The majority of staff are kind and helpful. Unfortunately, with such a busy and quite large home, it is not always easy to find a member of the caring team.

I would highly recommend Finaven Court to anyone looking for care for a loved one It is comfortable, warm and friendly, and the home definitely gives off the feeling of a 'Home from Home'! The care given by all the staff is exceptional and standards are always high in every way and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff at Finavon Court. Leaving my Wife in the care of a home has definitely been made less distressing with the support and care of Finavon Court staff.

Overall the care of my husband has been very good. The staff do try very hard to dress him as I wish. Only on rare occasions do I have to comment on this.
The staff are always courteous and helpful and on observation, all residents are treated the same.

The atmosphere is relaxed and staff work in a calm and kind way. The only problem I have found is with clothing particularly with underwear, nightwear, socks/slippers i.e the smaller items and accessories. ( my family think this is not important).

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Finavon Court Care Home

My daughter stayed for 2 weeks in September for respite. She appeared to really enjoy her stay and when we phoned the care home for updates we were given concise and clear information on how she was doing. This made a difference in easing our minds that there were no issues while she was there.

My father has been in Respite Care frequently over the last 18 months, the majority of the respite being at Finavon Court.
The staff are friendly, helpful and always pleasant. As a visitor, I am always treated with respect and helped with any queries or questions I have surrounding my father during his stays.

I think it helped us as a family that my mother had also been a resident in Finavon Court for 5 years prior to her death last year so the home itself was very familiar to us and my father, which made respite care in Finavon Court for my father a bit easier.

Review from Patricia C (Sister of Resident) published on 4 May 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My sister has recently moved into Finavon. She seems very happy - she's included in activities that take place if she wishes to do so.
Her clothes match well, her overall appearance is very good as she requires assistance.
She is always asked what choice of meal she would like and is given a cup of tea or coffee when requested. She does enjoy her cuppie and biscuits.

Staff are very patient with her as she can be challenging at times. I feel satisfied with her care and have no concerns at all.

My father came in to Finavon Court at the beginning of December. His care has been outstanding from all aspects. The care my father receives is of a very high standard. With staff being very knowledgeable about the type of care each resident needs. There is nothing that they cannot see to, no matter how little or big. The food is fabulous and the home is very welcoming. The staff are there because they want to be and not because they have to be. The atmosphere is very pleasant and they have lovely surroundings, all our family are delighted with my father's care which is all to do with the manager. Highly recommend the home.

Review from Andrew J (Brother of Resident) published on 6 December 2016 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My brother entered Finavon January 2016 but due to the distance involved, I was unable to visit until November 2016. Until then I had been on the phone regularly and always found anyone at Finavon answering the phone to be extremely pleasant and more than helpful on every occasion no matter what time I called. I was finally able to pay a short visit in November and I cannot thank the staff enough for the welcome I received and the attention I was given, nothing was too much trouble. I was able to visit various parts of the home and everything was spotless. Having had previous experience of a care home with my dad, Finavon was far, far superior. I would have no hesitation in recommending Finavon Court to anyone requiring this specialist type of care.

Overall Experience

The visitor reception room was staffed by a very personable lady who very quickly made arrangements for my brother to meet my wife and I in a private room. Tea and cakes were provided and this initial experience set the tone for the visit. The manageress took time out to discuss the current situation regarding my brother and provided me with relevant information about contacting his power of attorney. We had visited twice previously and am certain that the quality of the rooms, both private and public were first class. Staff who we have been in contact with have impressed us greatly.
