South Grange Care Home is a purpose-built home on the outskirts of 'Bonnie Dundee' in the seaside town of Monifieth. Built on the site of a previous farm building, the home has retained the charm of the 'Mill' which is now the main lounge. They provide first-class 24-hour nursing and residential care alongside expert care for people with Multiple Sclerosis. They also offer respite care, including short breaks and care for people with a physical disability.

The Seven Arches is a purpose-built facility within South Grange, providing expert care for young clients with acquired brain injuries, neurological disorders and those clients who need to be ventilated.

The team at Seven Arches works with each client to facilitate a plan of care specific to individual needs and can provide slow stream rehabilitation as well as long term and palliative care.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focus on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person. And their dedication can be seen across the board - in cooking, hospitality and organising activities for the residents.

I have always found the staff who look after my mother to be very professional, courteous and very caring in the way they look after her. During the pandemic, the Activities
Co-Ordinator is our main contact when setting up FaceTime calls with Mum and nothing is too much trouble for her even to the
extent of setting up FaceTime calls with other staff whilst she is off on rest days.

Our mother has been in South Grange for three years and very quickly told us that she regards it as her home. Mum is looked after by staff who obviously really do care for her and she regards many as her friends. Mum very much enjoys the activities each day, especially the bowling which she can't get
enough of! During the pandemic there have been as many opportunities as possible to see mum, either by physical visit, when allowed, or by video call. We would recommend South Grange to anyone looking for a place for their loved one to call their new home.

My Mum was always very well looked after and it meant I did not have to worry about her which was a tremendous relief. She was always treated with care and dignity, especially around the time of her passing. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff.

The care and environment has been a of a high standard and their high level of professionalism shines through in every interaction with residents, families and others.

My brother has been at South Grange for 14 months. He has been treated well by the staff, any incidents are looked into and are resolved quickly. The staff contact me if they have any concerns over his health and medical assistance is sought through the GP.
The recent refurbishment has made a big difference

On the whole, I have no problem. Occasionally a lack of staff makes it difficult to pass things on. The new renovations are lovely but I have reservations re the new lounge next to the upper dining room. Residents can't be seen when left sitting, it's easy to forget they are there. The ladies still
enjoy speaking to everyone who comes out of the lifts.

I would like to express our gratitude to all the staff for the care given to my father in the 3 years he was a resident. The support given to us all as a family during those years has been exceptional. He was treated with respect and in the early days able to have a good relationship with the friendly

I can't find the words to express how good this care home is and how grateful I am of the care given to my father. My father is completely paralysed and requires constant care and attention to meet his needs and at South Grange all the staff and management have gone 110% to ensure he is comfortable
and happy. In all the time that my father has been ill, there has been no other organisation that has attended to him in this way and they all just do it naturally here. They are real trailblazers and my dad has been blessed to be in their care. Heartfelt thanks to everyone at South Grange and the Barchester group. What amazing standards - totally unbelievable.

Mum had been in South Grange for 22 months. During this time we could tell that she was well looked after. She was settled and had a lovely room, where she could have peace and quiet or venture out to join in with activities.
The last three months, Mum's health deteriorated and it was during this time
that the staff were even more caring and attentive.
We felt that Mum was in safe hands. Can't thank them enough for looking after Mum with such kindness and on the saddest of days looking after us too.

The care home was always spotless. All staff were friendly and welcoming. My mother was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times. In her last few weeks, the staff could not have done more to ensure she was comfortable and clean and made sure they looked after my father, my sister and
myself.
We could not have been happier with the care received.

I have just spent this past week visiting my mum on a daily basis and was always given a lovely warm welcome from all of the staff I met this past week.
You are always assured of a cheery smile and hello, we were always very well looked after during the visits with lovely lunches in the 'snug', to
coffee/tea at breaktimes.
The staff are delightful and most importantly my mum is very happy and settled.

My mother was resident at Barchester South Grange for 4 years and received care and attention always. Staff were always friendly and aware of her needs and preferences. She died April 24th, 2017. This is a first class care home in every respect. My dear mother has had superb care in this wonderful home for nearly 9 years. I have been able to visit her freely and enjoy the occasional meal with her in a well-appointed private dining room. The setting of this care home in the Angus Hills is idyllic
and it would be hard to find more helpful and friendly staff. I enjoy visiting South Grange and always feel extremely welcome and at home. I could not have found a better care home for my dear mother. South Grange is absolutely first class on all parts!

A very welcoming and homely care home. Management are very approachable and very prompt in resolving any issues we had as a family. They seem a great team and all work together. The only problem we had as a family was the room not having any shower facilities which if they did have, would make showering
residents so much easier.

Job Title: Head Of Unit

Hi, My name is Adegbite Olanrewaju (Larry), and I am Head of Unit. I have been with South Grange care home, Barchester Healthcare limited since October 2021. I have a special interest in the care of the Elderly.


I trained to become a registered general nurse in Nigeria over 10 years ago and went further to bag my Bachelors degree in nursing in one of Nigeria’s renowned universities. The quest to diversify and advance in academic and professional knowledge prompted the purse of a Post graduate diploma and a Masters degree in Social work and I now have those qualifications to my credit.


As a nurse, I have worked in so many specialties, majorly the Accident and Emergency setting. I have the American Heart association certification for Basic life support (2013, 2015) and Advanced cardiac life support (2015).


As an academic, I lectured in the university setting as a junior lecturer, published/ co-published over 15 academic papers in reputable journals locally and internationally and very visible on the Google Scholar platform. Some of these publications are on the care, needs, and challenges facing the aged population.


My passion for the wellbeing of the aged population pivoted my migration the United Kingdom to work in an organized residential and care home for the elderly and I have enrolled for a second Master’s degree in Dementia Studies at the University of Hull with the view to further sharpen the necessary skills needed to support the elderly.

My name is Angela, my passion has always been to work in the care sector since a young age, I spent time at the Red Cross with my mother helping out.


I attended college in 1990 to complete my qualification in health and social care. I have continued working with the elderly and have gained experience and more qualifications throughout the years.


When you visit our home you will see me in our elderly frail unit where I have been since 2022

Hi my name is Kevin I began my career in the building trade after leaving school, but this wasn’t for me.


I then thought office work would be more suitable for me, but that didn’t work out for me either. As I got older I realised I enjoyed spending time with my grandparents and looking after them so I decided my passion was in doing care for the elderly.


I began working as a care assistant at south grange in 2017 where I gained my experience and my qualifications now you can find me in our seven arches as a senior care assistant.

Hello, my name is Caitlin and I started as an Activities Coordinator here at South Grange in 2022.


My job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. I want to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible. Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I hold very close to my heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them.
