Our Mum has been in Colinvale for 5 years, I live overseas and get to see Mum every year. I'm lucky that I have siblings close by to Colinvale, so I get ongoing updates from their visits. On my visits I am always impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff, who are
also very approachable and informative. Mum is happy and well looked after, which is what we all want for her. Thank you to everyone who participates in my Mum's well being.
Reply from Mrs Vincent, Nurse Manager at Colinvale Court Nursing Home for EMIThank you so much for your review and I will surely pass on to our team . Hope you are keeping well .

John , my husband has been very settled from his first day in Colinvale Court. All the staff treat him with kindness and warmth. He eats well, sleeps well and staff help him to keep mobile by walking the corridors with him daily. I have no concerns regarding his care and aam grateful for the home and
all that the staff do for him.

The staff at this home are very caring and compassionate towards not only residents but family members also. My dad appears settled and content and all his needs are met accordingly. The staff communicate his needs to us regularly and keep us up to date on how he has feeling as he struggles to communicate
effectively.

Im am so grateful and content with the care and compassion all the staff have for the residents. My dad has been there from the start of January and i cannot thank them enough for his care.
I visit him everyday and he is nicely dressed, very clean and he has not once expressed feelings about coming
home. This to me shows how happy and well cared for he is. All the staff are so friendly and supportive of family members and residents. Highly recommend this home. I can leave him at night, knowing hes safe, happy and well cared for.

As soon as I stepped through the door of Colinvale to assess the home for my mother I was immediately impressed with the warmth and empathy that I received from Vinny the manager. There is a continuity to the all the staff which is very reassuring not only to the residents but also to the family. The
comfort and safety of the residents is at the heart of everything the staff and management do. We as a family are kept informed of my mother's care and her and our choices are respected and put into practice. I was dreading my mother going into full time care but the amazing team at Colinvale have made the process for both her and us so much easier and I can't thank Vinny enough for offering my mother a place.

My parent has resided here for the past few years and has been provided with loving and attentive services for his entire stay. Each staff person, no matter their role (manager, kitchen, laundry, care attendant, domestic or nurse) greet my parent every time they interact and have something kind to
say. They are well aware of the likes and dislikes of my parent and ensure comfortability. They also are kind to the family members of residents ensuring we feel welcome and part of the care team. I appreciate the work ethic and professionalism of the staff and their loving care provided to my parent

I was weary of Dad going in to a nursing home, when you hear stories in the media it can be scary. From the moment Dad was admitted he has been treated with dignity and care. My Dad can be quite stubborn when he doesn't wish to do something, so watching the staff handle him so well has put my mind at
ease.
He can be a very messy eater, and staff are always quick to tidy him up. His room is always spotless, bed always made and bin emptied. The rest of the home is always clean and tidy, and laundry always done.
The staff are angels, care work is not for the weak, and seeing how they treat the residents is a testament to how genuinely nice they are.
I would have no qualms in recommending Colinvale to anyone needing care for an elderly relative.

This is the worst nursing home I have ever experienced for my father in law. Totally unacceptable in their duty of care from administering medication, food, cleanliness, activity program, management of the home and the overall environment. Staff stand talking while residents need assistance. Not once
did I see any staff make conversation with any resident not even checking on those who are bed bound. Totally all round failure to our elderly. Best thing we done was move him to a spotless great care amazing staff and a reduction of medication where he is now thriving happy and contented and involved in a full activities program.
Reply from Mrs Vincent, Nurse Manager at Colinvale Court Nursing Home for EMIDear Catherine, We will look in to your concerns to improve our practice. My mother had been a resident at Colinvale Court Nursing Home for just over 3 years. Sadly she passed away 3 weeks ago. I would just like to highlight the amazing care and compassion my mother was shown during her time there, especially the end of life care she received. The nursing staff were knowledgeable
and efficient in delivering all aspects of care. We as a family felt included in every decision made to make our mother's final days as comfortable as possible. Our mother felt safe and secure at Colinvale. Amazing team.

I would like to take the opportunity to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Colinvale Court Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided to my mummy from her admission in February 2021 until her passing in September 2024. Mummy was so well looked after, the staff had an amazing
an understanding of mummy's needs and great insight into the individual care requirements of a person living with Alzheimer's. The staff took the time to get to know mummy and showed interest in her life and the things she enjoyed. Nothing was ever a problem, the staff were always happy to help and support mummy and ourselves especially in the last weeks of her life. Their professionalism, care, compassion and empathy was highlighted in the respectful and dignified way they delivered mummy's care.
I would recommend Colinvale Court Nursing Home to any person of family who are looking for a safe secure place for their loved one to live.

My mother has been in Colinvale Nursing Home for just over three years. They have taken the time to get to know my mother and understand her, which makes all the difference. The nursing and care staff are all so approachable and compassionate which gives me a great sense of comfort that my mother is
receiving excellent person-centred care. The communication with myself and my sisters is also excellent and we are always kept informed of our mum's day-to-day progress and any other aspects of her needs. Our mother has also got to know the staff and other residents which promotes her overall sense of wellbeing and belonging and is a great source of contentment for her. Overall a very positive experience.

My husband was initially admitted to the home for respite for a few weeks and he settled in so well and so quickly that it was decided that he should remain there permanently. He has been a resident for 5 years now, and in all that time, I have never had any major issues with the home. I find the staff
very quick to act if he is ill by contacting the doctor or hospital and I'm always kept informed about everything. My husband is well cared for by very dedicated staff. They are pleasant, approachable, caring and obliging.

My mummy was a resident from June to August this year after spending 3 months in the hospital, from our first visit I was totally impressed with the home. The home was spotless and welcoming, and every member of staff just after one day felt like extended family. All my fears of mummy going into a home
were quickly addressed and the manager was so reassuring to me and my daughter that I could just focus on being with my mummy. Her complex needs were always met with dignity and care and always humour as they got to know her very quickly. During her last weeks, every member of staff who were on duty looked after not only my mummy but me and my daughter and I will always be so grateful to them. I could not recommend this home or staff enough, the atmosphere is family-focused and they take the time to get to know the residents and what they like to do.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.556 for Colinvale Court Nursing Home for EMI is calculated as follows: ( (146 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 198 Ratings = 4.556
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Colinvale Court Nursing Home for EMI is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
