My mother passed away peacefully in late December 2023 after staying at Strathearn Court Care Home for two years and three months. After my initial visit while deciding on a home for Mum, I felt I did not need to look at anywhere else. Our subsequent experience proved that initial impression to be fully
accurate. I could not fault our experience. The whole staff were lovely and very ably led by a very caring management team. I have nothing but praise for this home-from-home.

Our mother arrived at Strathearn Court in September 2023 and we as a family are really happy with the care she is receiving. Every one of staff are so friendly and they are very attentive to our mother, and also the other residents. She loves the entertainment and activities they put on each day as
she loves to interact with other people.

My mother was a resident of Strathearn Court Care Home Belfast for eight months of palliative care. She was treated wonderfully well and with great respect. Her pain was managed in an exemplary manner and our family were so pleased that the last weeks of her life were comfortable, secure and dignified.
The staff were always very kind, caring and professional in all they did for my mother and us as a family.

My dad had been a resident at Strathearn Court since July 2022. Throughout his time there the staff were nothing but caring and compassionate towards my dad and us as a family. It should be said that from the home manager to all members of the team they were all friendly and very approachable. My dad
sadly passed away in July 2023 and in his final days we stayed for 4 days solid and we were cared for by the staff ensuring that my dad was treated with the utmost dignity. Thank you from all the family.

My husband was admitted to Stathearn Court on the 8th of July 2022. He was treated with respect and dignity. Everyone who works in Strathearn is really dedicated to their job. When we visited my husband the staff were really friendly and knew us by name from day one. My husband died on the 17th of July
this year and the staff were very sympathetic with me and the family. If I ever had to go into a care home it would be Stathearn Court.

My wife moved into Strathearn Court Care Home just less than a year ago. It was a traumatic experience, as I'm sure those involved in such a situation will agree. Over the following weeks, I realised that my wife was in very capable hands. The nurses are very attentive to the residents and quickly become
aware if any of them need special treatment. The carers do a wonderful job considering the care they need to offer to residents with such a variety of ailments. The home and the rooms are very clean and well-kept. The manager and all the staff are always friendly and willing to answer any of your queries. I am now content that my wife is in a home where there are very caring staff looking after her.

The staff at Strathearn Court were wonderful during Mum's recent illness and went above and beyond expectations in her care. Sadly, Mum passed away, but we are grateful to all the nurses and care staff. The staff continue to look after my dad well, despite very difficult circumstances during the pandemic.

On behalf of my mother, who is a resident, we wish to say congratulations on a great platinum jubilee party and activities organised by the new activities coordinators. All the staff involved worked well together to make it a great day with a fantastic variety of food and snacks. Just what was needed
after the last few years! Thank you from our family.

My mother, sister and I are absolutely delighted with the care my father, who is 90, and totally immobile, is receiving at Strathearn Court.
The manager, reception, nursing staff and caring staff are all doing a rather challenging job with him at times but manage to do it in a very professional and
dignified manner, for which we are very grateful.
We would not hesitate to recommend.
Thank you to everyone.

My mother has been a resident in this home for about 24-months. During that time, her care has been exemplary and could not have been better. In the last few months of her life, the staff really stepped IP their attention and went above and beyond. I don't think my mother could have been anywhere better.

Granny was moved to Strathearn Court Care Home in Sep 20 following doctors advice and a medical team report that said she was no longer able to safely live independently.

For a woman who was fiercely independent, this was a major adjustment. She was used to seeing family every day, and Covid restrictions

were very confusing for her. The staff at Strathearn helped both granny and us, as a family, adjust and find creative ways to keep in contact; they loved her and cared for her when we couldn’t and always kept us informed of all that was going on.

As a family, we struggled with the decision to place granny in full-time care, we would’ve loved nothing more than to be able to care for her ourselves, but we are so very grateful that she enjoyed her time in Strathearn and that in those final days, she herself, expressed "she wanted for nothing and had the very best of care”.

We will forever be grateful for the “above and beyond” culture and care provided by everyone at the home.

Given her circumstances, Mum's needs are well catered for. The staff are professional and understanding. Although this last year has been extremely difficult, the home had coped well. Our only wish would be for a little more regular contact.
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Strathearn Court Care HomeThank you for your comments about your recent experience at Strathearn Court Care Home. Our residents’ wellbeing is our main priority, and it is great to hear that you were so pleased with the quality of our care. Due to restrictions placed upon us by government and local guidance to keep everyone safe during the pandemic, we had to restrict visits to our home for the safety and wellbeing of our residents. We know how difficult this was for families and residents, so are now delighted to be able to welcome family members back into our home for safe face-to-face visits. If there is anything more we can do to help you with your visits, please do let us know.

Very well pleased with the service this home showed to my dad during his stay. They were very efficient and kept us well informed of any changes in Dad's health. They very good to us during Dad's final days, and would like to thank them for all their support and well-being. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend
this home as the care is 100%, and the staff treated my dad as one of their own family. Well done, and thanks.

My elderly aunt transferred to Strathearn Court from a residential home after losing her ability to be independent and requiring palliative care. From the beginning, she was welcomed into Strathearn Court and a thorough assessment of her particular needs and preferences was made. The home enabled several
family visits towards the end of my aunt's life, despite covid19. The family were pleased with every aspect of my aunts care and would happily recommend Strathearn Court based on our experience.
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Strathearn Court Care HomeThank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience at Strathearn Court Care Home. I would very much like to thank all the care home staff who have looked after both my parents over the last five months and especially through the Coronavirus outbreak. Both my parents tested positive in April and they were very well cared for by the staff at all times. They have both recovered due
to the diligence and care given them by the staff. I really appreciated being able to see them at a distance outside after they had recovered as the staff wheeled them out to the outdoor area where I could see them. The nurses have phoned me regularly to let me know how they were doing and are always happy to speak to me on the phone. My sisters and all our families would like to pass on our thanks to the manager and staff at the home. They treat my parents at all times with care and dignity and they have put themselves at risk to care for the residents during this outbreak.
Reply from Olivia Shields, Marketing Assistant at Strathearn Court Care HomeThank you, Alison, for letting us know how we are doing at Strathearn Court Care Home. My sister was admitted on 2nd July after being in another care home for one month which we were not happy with. The entrance area and decor had a very homely feel. The staff were extremely kind, caring, approachable and helpful. She had pancreatic cancer and was not eating well and very confused.
Over
the few weeks, she was there the improvement in these aspects was very pleasing. Initially being taken to the dining room. Her medicine was reviewed and with GP approval she was taken off her morphine which made her less confused. I felt she could not have been cared for better and was content that she was safe. She had a very peaceful and pain-free death. Her clothes never went missing always clean and available, unlike the other care home. The best by far!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.755) out of 10 for Strathearn Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.755 for Strathearn Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (194 Excellents x 5) + (30 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.755
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Strathearn Court Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
